Packers | Jordy Nelson limited again Thursday

Thu, 19 Jan 2017 16:36:46 -0800

Green Bay Packers WR Jordy Nelson (ribs) was a limited participant in practice for the second straight day Thursday, Jan. 19.

Fantasy Tip: This type of activity means he's trending towards playing on Sunday, but it's still unknown how close to 100 percent health Nelson actually is. That being said, he looks like a very risky option right now for DFS lineups and his situation should be monitored closely up until kickoff.

Packers | Jordy Nelson to work with rehab group

Thu, 19 Jan 2017 10:38:28 -0800

Green Bay Packers WR Jordy Nelson (ribs) will be on the field with the rehab group during practice Thursday, Jan. 19, according to head coach Mike McCarthy.

Fantasy Tip: Nelson probably will be listed as limited on the injury report but is still a question mark for the NFC Championship game. Owners will need to keep an eye on the situation over the next few days to see if he makes any progress. He will be a risky option for owners and may only be a No. 3 receiver or flex option in leagues.

Packers | Jordy Nelson taking things slow

Wed, 18 Jan 2017 18:38:16 -0800

Updating a previous story, Green Bay Packers WR Jordy Nelson (ribs) admitted he worked "slowly" back in practice Wednesday, Jan. 18. He was designated as limited in practice and would not put any odds on his playing in the NFC Championship Game on Sunday, Jan. 22, against the Atlanta Falcons.

Fantasy Tip: Less than two weeks removed from breaking multiple ribs, it seems highly unlikely Nelson will be ready to go this weekend. Even if does find a way to play, he will almost certainly be on a snap count. With Davante Adams also ailing, Randall Cobb and Jared Cook are in play as target monsters. Geronimo Allison, Trevor Davis and Jeff Janis could all see their roles increase as well.

Wed, 18 Jan 2017 15:38:15 -0800

Updating a previous report, Green Bay Packers WR Jordy Nelson (ribs) was limited during practice Wednesday, Jan. 18.

Fantasy Tip: It is not known how much Nelson did during practice, but it is a good sign that he was able to be on the field Wednesday. Owners will need to check on his status later in the week to see if he will be able to play in the NFC Championship game. He will be a risky option for owners but can be used in fantasy leagues if he is active.

Packers | Jordy Nelson to miss practice

Wed, 18 Jan 2017 11:42:26 -0800

Green Bay Packers WR Jordy Nelson (ribs) will not participate in practice Wednesday, Jan. 18, according to head coach Mike McCarthy.

Fantasy Tip: Nelson probably will not do much during practice this week and may be a game-time decision for the NFC Championship game, so owners will need to keep an eye on the situation. Nelson may be limited if he is active for the game, which makes him a risky option for owners.

Packers | Jordy Nelson still a longshot for Sunday

Tue, 17 Jan 2017 09:27:53 -0800

Green Bay Packers WR Jordy Nelson (ribs) has a chance to play in the NFC Championship Game against the Atlanta Falcons, but it is only a small chance, according to a source.

Fantasy Tip: The Packers' medical staff is known to be among the most conservative in the NFL, so the odds are long Nelson will suit up two weeks after suffering broken ribs. He appears to be getting in some light workouts, so perhaps a return for the Super Bowl - should the Packers advance - is possible. Until then, Randall Cobb, Geronimo Allison and an injured Davante Adams figure to be Green Bay's top three receivers once again.

Packers | Jordy Nelson's practice status unclear

Mon, 16 Jan 2017 14:03:23 -0800

Green Bay Packers WR Jordy Nelson's (ribs) practice availability for Wednesday, Jan. 18, is unclear, according to head coach Mike McCarthy. Nelson did work out Monday, Jan. 16, however.

Fantasy Tip: The Packers could certainly use the NFL's 2016 leader in touchdowns for the NFC Championship, but they can obviously succeed without him. Nelson could end up as a game-time decision, so his status will need to be monitored up until Sunday.

Packers | Jordy Nelson still has breathing issues

Mon, 16 Jan 2017 07:08:48 -0800

Green Bay Packers WR Jordy Nelson (ribs) said Sunday, Jan. 15, that he still isn't able to breathe normally because of his ribs injury.

Fantasy Tip: There is optimism that he'll be able to play in the NFC title game this week, but it's far from a given. Nelson will likely be affected by the injury if he suits up, and he might slip into the WR2 area against the Atlanta Falcons.

Packers | Jordy Nelson may play if team advances

Sun, 15 Jan 2017 10:44:15 -0800

Green Bay Packers WR Jordy Nelson (ribs) will not play in the Divisional round playoff game, but the Packers hope he could play in the NFC Championship game if they defeat the Dallas Cowboys this weekend.

Fantasy Tip: Owners will need to monitor the team's practice if they are able to advance in the playoffs. Nelson probably would have to do something at practice if he had a chance to play. He would be a risky option for owners if the Packers make the NFC Championship game.
