Falcons | Harry Douglas has negative MRI

Sat, 20 Sep 2014 01:15:30 -0700

Atlanta Falcons WR Harry Douglas (foot) had his MRI come back negative on the injured foot he suffered Thursday, Sept. 18. The team will not update his status until sometime next week.

Fantasy Tip: Eric Weems saw some playing time when Douglas went out, so he could be a low-cost FantasyScore option in Week 4 when prices are released. Weems might be a bargain if Douglas can't play.

Fri, 15 Nov 2013 13:24:43 -0800

Atlanta Falcons WR Harry Douglas (knee) was limited in practice Friday, Nov. 15, and is questionable.

Fantasy Tip: If Douglas can go, he will likely see a lot of targets due to the match ups Roddy White gets. If he is on the field, he is a decent option.

Falcons | Roddy White returns to practice

Fri, 01 Nov 2013 09:11:44 -0700

Atlanta Falcons WR Roddy White (ankle, hamstring) returned to practice Friday, Nov. 1, after visiting with a team doctor Thursday, Oct. 31. White ran a few individual drills at the start of the practice Friday and will be listed as limited for the session. Head coach Mike Smith said White's status for Week 9 against the Carolina Panthers is uncertain.

Fantasy Tip: It looks like White will be questionable again this weekend, and it looks very iffy that he'll play. He's just having a really tough time bucking his multiple injuries. Leave him on your bench. Harry Douglas and Drew Davis will continue to see more targets in the passing game if White remains out.

Falcons | Roddy White not practicing

Thu, 31 Oct 2013 10:56:41 -0700

Atlanta Falcons WR Roddy White (ankle, hamstring) did not practice Thursday, Oct. 31.

Fantasy Tip: It's looking increasingly likely that White sits out another game this weekend. Harry Douglas remains the main beneficiary in the passing game with White hobbled. Against a tough Carolina defense, though, the Falcons may struggle to move the ball consistently all day.

Falcons | Roddy White out

Fri, 18 Oct 2013 12:18:38 -0700

Atlanta Falcons WR Roddy White (ankle, hamstring) has been ruled out for Week 7.

Fantasy Tip: Harry Douglas likely will be the team's top receiver Week 7 but probably will be covered by Darrelle Revis, which will make his job difficult. Tony Gonzalez could also receive increased targets, but he likely will be double covered during the game. Owners could consider Douglas as a No. 3 wide receiver or flex option this week. Drew Davis and Kevin Cone could also be more involved in the passing game but are not fantasy relevant.

Falcons | Julio Jones to have surgery

Wed, 09 Oct 2013 14:22:57 -0700

Atlanta Falcons WR Julio Jones (foot) will undergo surgery on his foot next week after Dr. Robert Anderson diagnosed him with a fractured foot. Jones will miss the rest of the season.

Fantasy Tip: You can now safely drop Jones everywhere. The fractured foot that involved a broken screw from a previous injury could be an issue for him for the rest of his career. For now, Harry Douglas will move to a prominent role in the passing game alongside Tony Gonzalez with Roddy White (hamstring, ankle) hobbled.

Falcons | Roddy White close to full health?

Mon, 23 Sep 2013 15:08:55 -0700

Atlanta Falcons WR Roddy White (ankle) played a season-high 47 plays in the team's Week 3 loss to the Miami Dolphins and was targeted four times and had two catches for 16 yards.

Fantasy Tip: More snaps for White probably means he's getting healthier, but he still doesn't appear to be at a level to trust him in your starting lineup. Be patient and build depth around him until we see more out of him. Until then, Harry Douglas could benefit.

Falcons | Julio Jones will play in Week 2

Sun, 15 Sep 2013 06:23:38 -0700

Atlanta Falcons WR Julio Jones (knee) will play in the team's Week 2 game.

Fantasy Tip: Even with the knee issue, Jones is still a must start in all formats, especially with Roddy White likely to play a decoy role again in Week 2. Harry Douglas is also likely to see a big increase in work with all the injury issues in Atlanta.

Falcons | Julio Jones expected to play

Fri, 13 Sep 2013 13:55:18 -0700

Atlanta Falcons WR Julio Jones (knee) is fully expected to play in Week 2 against the St. Louis Rams.

Fantasy Tip: Roddy White (ankle) is also dinged up, so Atlanta's top-two receivers probably won't be 100 percent in this one. Jones should still be started, but Harry Douglas may be the biggest beneficiary, along with Tony Gonzalez.

Falcons | Roddy White active

Sun, 08 Sep 2013 08:30:52 -0700

Atlanta Falcons WR Roddy White (ankle) is active for Week 1 against the New Orleans Saints.

Fantasy Tip: White may be limited despite the fact that he will suit up against the Saints. Julio Jones should be in line for more targets as a result, and Harry Douglas might be a sneaky flex play in deeper leagues.

Falcons | Hoping Roddy White will be ready for opener

Wed, 28 Aug 2013 12:58:15 -0700

Atlanta Falcons general manager Thomas Dimitroff said the team hopes WR Roddy White (ankle) will be available to play Week 1.

Fantasy Tip: Owners likely will know more about White's Week 1 status next week when the team practices. It does not appear like he is dealing with a major injury at this time. White should still be every-week starter despite the injury. Harry Douglas could be more playing time early because of White's injury and should be a flex play in most leagues. Douglas will have more value in point-per-reception leagues.

Fri, 02 Aug 2013 14:16:47 -0700
