Jets | Matt Forte an option for New York?

Tue, 02 Feb 2016 11:10:02 -0800

Chicago Bears RB Matt Forte wouldn't be ruled out as an option for the New York Jets to sign if he becomes available, in the opinion of ESPNNewYork.com's Rich Cimini.

Fantasy Tip: Of course, as Cimini also said, there would be a lot of variables for the Jets to pursue and sign Forte, the first likely being that Chris Ivory isn't re-signed. As it stands, the Jets do have three impending free-agent running backs in Ivory, Bilal Powell and Stevan Ridley. Much needs to happen in order for Forte to land in New York, though.

Bears | No contract talks for Matt Forte

Thu, 28 Jan 2016 07:04:27 -0800

Chicago Bears impending free-agent RB Matt Forte hasn't had any meaningful contract talks with the team as of a couple of weeks ago.

Fantasy Tip: Forte has shown signs of age at 30 years old, but he's still a valuable back in PPR leagues. If he can latch on with a team with at least a timeshare role, he'll be a low-end RB2 in fantasy at minimum.

Bears | Matt Forte totals 110 yards, TD

Sun, 03 Jan 2016 19:51:39 -0800

Chicago Bears RB Matt Forte posted 17 rushes for 76 yards in the Week 17 game against the Detroit Lions, and he added three receptions for 34 yards a touchdown in what could have been his final season with the team.

Fantasy Tip: The Bears could still use Forte, pairing him with Jeremy Langford for an impressive one-two punch. However, Chicago would have to get Forte back at a nice price, and Forte might be able to get more money elsewhere. It will be an interesting situation to watch, as Langford could go from mid-round draft pick to early-round fantasy option if Forte does not return. Ka'Deem Carey's fantasy situation could improve dramatically if Forte goes elsewhere, too.

Bears | Matt Forte to face Detroit

Sun, 03 Jan 2016 09:13:23 -0800

Chicago Bears RB Matt Forte (back) is active for Week 17's game against the Detroit Lions.

Fantasy Tip: Forte ($5,600, 11.2% of cap), who is set to become a free agent after the season, could be playing his final game in a Bears uniform. He should play a key component in the passing game this week and is worthy of consideration as a midrange flex option in FantasyScore.

Bears | Matt Forte questionable for Week 17

Fri, 01 Jan 2016 12:37:15 -0800

Chicago Bears RB Matt Forte (back) was limited in practice Friday, Jan. 1, and is listed as questionable for the Week 17 game against the Detroit Lions.

Fantasy Tip: Forte ($5,600, 11.2% of cap) has competition in the backfield, which has the potential to limit his upside for a big showing. He is active enough in the passing game to provide a nice fantasy floor, though. View Forte as a viable option at FantasyScore for Week 17, especially at his mid-range cap hit.

Bears | Matt Forte limited Thursday

Thu, 31 Dec 2015 11:06:01 -0800

Chicago Bears RB Matt Forte (back) was limited in practice Thursday, Dec. 31.

Fantasy Tip: Forte ($5,600, 11.2% of cap) is expected to play against the Detroit Lions and should have a big role in the passing game. He's a midrange flex option on FantasyScore.

Bears | Matt Forte limited in practice

Wed, 30 Dec 2015 15:18:51 -0800

Chicago Bears RB Matt Forte (back) was a limited participant in practice Wednesday, Dec. 30.

Fantasy Tip: Forte ($5,600, 11.2% of cap) has been pretty productive when he's been on the field this year in point-per-reception leagues like FantasyScore. He has double-digit carries in all but one of his starts and should see a healthy workload against the Detroit Lions in what could easily be his last game in a Bears uniform. He's an under-the-radar daily play that could pay off.

Bears | Matt Forte limited Wednesday

Wed, 30 Dec 2015 10:58:22 -0800

Chicago Bears RB Matt Forte (back) was limited in practice Wednesday, Dec. 30.

Fantasy Tip: Forte ($5,600, 11.2% of cap) should be good to go against the Detroit Lions. He has some upside on FantasyScore with Alshon Jeffery (hamstring) out.

Bears | Matt Forte injures back

Sun, 27 Dec 2015 18:31:58 -0800

Chicago Bears RB Matt Forte (back) carried 11 times for 54 yards in the Week 16 game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, while added three receptions for 21 yards. He was sidelined for part of the second half due to a back injury. "I had a little nick," Forte said. "That happens to running backs, you get little nicks and stuff. I was trying to go back in and they told me at that point there was no need to go back in. But I'll be all right."

Fantasy Tip: Forte had a decent yardage total from scrimmage, but he had just 14 total touches to 19 for Jeremy Langford, while Ka'Deem Carey also had eight total touches. He could have returned, but might this signal the end is near for Forte in Chicago? Well, at the very least, it appears Langford is the better fantasy option heading into the regular season finale.

Bears | Matt Forte not expecting reunion

Thu, 24 Dec 2015 09:06:24 -0800

Chicago Bears RB Matt Forte said he's pessimistic about his chances of re-signing with the Bears when his contract expires after this season. He's played eight seasons with Chicago after being a second-round draft pick in 2008. "I mean, I want to return," Forte said. "But if you're saying, am I hopeful that I do return? There is not much to hope for that right now because like I said, I talked to (the Bears' front office) earlier and they haven't said anything back. So there's nothing really to hope for." The Bears denied Forte's request to extend his contract last winter and reduce his cap hit. He has every intention of playing next year and currently leads the Bears with 768 rushing yards on 190 carries.

Fantasy Tip: Forte ($6,900, 13.8% of cap) remains actively involved in Chicago's passing game even with Jeremy Langford stealing some action here and there. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are about middle of the pack against running backs this season. Forte is a midrange fantasy running back in Week 16.

Bears | Matt Forte productive in Week 15

Sun, 20 Dec 2015 14:16:19 -0800

Chicago Bears RB Matt Forte rushed for 47 yards on eight carries against the Minnesota Vikings in Week 15. He also caught six passes for 57 yards and one touchdown during the game.

Fantasy Tip: Forte has been a factor in the team's offense when he has been healthy this season and should continue to see solid playing time in the last two games. Forte could be a solid starting option for fantasy owners this week when he faces the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Bears | Matt Forte not done yet

Fri, 11 Dec 2015 09:32:05 -0800

Chicago Bears RB Matt Forte, who turned 30 years old Thursday, Dec. 10, said he plans to play at least two more years. "I can probably play 12 or 13 years, or something like that," Forte said. "I think when I came out of college I said I'd like to play at least 10 years. Twelve years is a long time for a running back, even 10 years. I'll assess where I am after 10 years, but my goal is 10 or 12 years." Forte leads the NFL in all-purpose yards (12,374) since 2008, and he had 21 carries for 84 yards and a touchdown in Week 13 against the San Francisco 49ers.

Fantasy Tip: Forte ($7,200, 14.4% of cap) appears to be plenty healthy after his 21-carry workload last week, but the Bears will continue to sprinkle in exciting rookie Jeremy Langford in to keep Forte fresh down the stretch. That's the best Forte's owners could ask for, and he remains very valuable to owners, especially in PPR leagues like FantasyScore. The Washington Redskins are tough against running backs, though, so think twice about paying up for Forte this weekend.

Bears | Matt Forte has solid comeback

Sun, 06 Dec 2015 15:25:20 -0800

Chicago Bears RB Matt Forte ran 21 times for 84 yards and scored a touchdown in his team's 26-20 loss to the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday, Dec. 6.

Fantasy Tip: Forte ($7,200, 14.4% of cap) looked like he would split carries with Jeremy Langford, but Forte ended up with most of the carries and looked pretty good in the loss. It's pretty safe to move forward with Forte at one of your RB positions.

Bears | Matt Forte not returning?

Sat, 05 Dec 2015 12:58:07 -0800

Chicago Bears RB Matt Forte has not been offered a contract extension yet, and Forte said it doesn't really look like he'll be receiving one. Forte said he'll be satisfied whether he enters free agency or stays in Chicago.

Fantasy Tip: Forte is still the premiere running back for the Bears, but he is also still splitting time with Jeremy Langford. With Langford's emergence, the Bears may be comfortable with letting Forte go. This situation will need to be monitored this offseason, obviously, but Forte could have a new team next season.

Bears | Chicago RBs to split the reps

Fri, 04 Dec 2015 22:24:51 -0800

Chicago Bears RBs Matt Forte and Jeremy Langford are expected to split carries in the Week 13 game against the San Francisco 49ers. Offensive coordinator Adam Gase said Friday, Dec. 4, that he'd like to have a near-even split of the touches between the two. "We can keep them fresh and we should only get better from here on out and those guys will get in the flow of it," Gase said.

Fantasy Tip: Forte ($7,200, 14.4% of cap) and Langford ($4,500, 9.0% of cap) are each strong pass catchers out of the backfield, and if the split is indeed even then Langford would be the better FantasyScore value.

Bears | No deal offered to Matt Forte

Fri, 04 Dec 2015 17:27:52 -0800

Chicago Bears RB Matt Forte said the Bears have not offered him a contract extension at this point and there is a good chance he becomes a free agent this offseason. Forte said he would prefer to stay with Chicago but is willing to sign with another team.

Fantasy Tip: Forte ($7,200, 14.4% of cap) should continue to see a majority of the touches at running back but will likely lose some to Jeremy Langford. Forte should still be a decent start option for most owners this season. Forte should be able to find a starting job if he becomes available this offseason and would be a solid option for owners in 2016.

Bears | Matt Forte will play in Week 12

Thu, 26 Nov 2015 15:52:16 -0800

Chicago Bears RB Matt Forte (knee) is officially active for the Week 12 game against the Green Bay Packers Thursday, Nov. 26.

Fantasy Tip: Forte ($7,700, 15.4% of cap) should receive solid playing time this week, but it is not known if he will see a majority of the snaps or if he will share carries with Jeremy Langford. Owners probably should consider other options because of his uncertain role on offense.

Bears | Matt Forte, Alshon Jeffery questionable

Wed, 25 Nov 2015 12:21:27 -0800

Chicago Bears RB Matt Forte (knee) and WR Alshon Jeffery (groin, shoulder) are both listed as questionable for Week 12 against the Green Bay Packers Thursday, Nov. 26.

Fantasy Tip: Forte ($7,700, 15.4% of cap) has missed the last three games. It's fair to wonder how much work he'll concede to impressive rookie Jeremy Langford. For that reason alone it's worth passing on Forte in daily formats. Jeffery ($7,600, 15.2% of cap) is a risk/reward pick on FantasyScore. The Bears could be forced to pass early and often, but in a cold contest at less than 100% he could be limited.

Bears | Matt Forte, Alshon Jeffery expected to play

Tue, 24 Nov 2015 14:29:15 -0800

Chicago Bears RB Matt Forte (knee) and WR Alshon Jeffery (groin) are both expected to suit up in Week 12 against the Green Bay Packers Thursday, Nov. 26. Both players said they were feeling fine after practice Tuesday, Nov. 24.

Fantasy Tip: Forte ($7,700, 15.4% of cap) has missed the last three games, and it's safe to say Jeremy Langford will cut into his workload at least somewhat because of how effective the rookie has been of late. That complicates Forte's daily value and limits return on investment at a lofty price. Jeffery ($7,600, 15.2% of cap) seems like a more worthwhile investment on FantasyScore in a game that should feature Chicago airing it out.

Bears | Three Bears limited Tuesday

Tue, 24 Nov 2015 12:28:59 -0800

Chicago Bears WR Alshon Jeffery (groin), RB Matt Forte (knee) and TE Martellus Bennett (ribs) were limited in practice Tuesday, Nov. 24.

Fantasy Tip: All three players are question marks heading into Week 12. Jeffery ($7,600, 15.2% of cap) has been battling injuries off and on all year; he may be the biggest question mark. All three need to be monitored before setting FantasyScore lineups this week. Marquess Wilson ($3,200, 6.4%), Jeremy Langford ($7,300, 14.6%) and Zach Miller ($2,800, 5.6%) would be the primary beneficiaries if Jeffery, Forte and Bennett were to sit.

Bears | Matt Forte with limited practice

Mon, 23 Nov 2015 13:56:12 -0800

Chicago Bears RB Matt Forte (knee) was limited in practice Monday, Nov. 23. However, the Bears didn't actually practice Monday, so Forte's designation is an estimation.

Fantasy Tip: After an extensive workout Sunday, the Bears are very optimistic that Forte will return to face the Green Bay Packers Thursday night. A Forte return will lower everyone's expectations for Jeremy Langford, and it could make both Forte and Langford frustrating daily options if they cannabilize each other's workload.

Bears | Matt Forte on track for Week 12

Mon, 23 Nov 2015 06:24:17 -0800

Chicago Bears RB Matt Forte (knee) went through an extensive pre-game workout Sunday, Nov. 22, and appears on track to play Thursday, Nov. 26.

Fantasy Tip: Forte would have some upside against the Green Bay Packers, but you must wonder how much he'll play before using RB1 financials on him in FantasyScore.

Bears | Matt Forte, Alshon Jeffery out

Sun, 22 Nov 2015 08:30:00 -0800

Updating previous reports, Chicago Bears RB Matt Forte (knee) and WR Alshon Jeffery (groin, shoulder) have both been declared inactive for Week 11's game against the Denver Broncos.

Fantasy Tip: Remove both Forte ($7,700, 15.4% of cap) and Jeffery ($7,600, 15.2% of cap) from your fantasy lineups. RB Jeremy Langford ($7,300, 14.6% of cap) will start at running back but has his work cut out for him against one of the league's top defenses. With Jeffery and Eddie Royal deactivated, Josh Bellamy ($2,000, 4.0% of cap) and Marquess Wilson ($2,000, 4.0% of cap) are likely to see the bulk of the receptions for Chicago this week at wideout but neither player is a great fantasy option.

Bears | Matt Forte unlikely to play

Sun, 22 Nov 2015 06:59:45 -0800

Chicago Bears RB Matt Forte (knee) is not expected to play in Week 11's game against the Denver Broncos. RB Jeremy Langford will receive the start at running back.

Fantasy Tip: Langford ($7,300, 14.6% of cap) has reached the end zone three times over the past two weeks, with 145 rushing yards on 38 carries and 10 receptions for 179 receiving yards. He could continue to see a good deal of playing time even after Forte ($7,700, 15.4% of cap) returns. With a short week coming up for the Bears, the team may opt to keep Forte sidelined until their game against the Green Bay Packers on Thanksgiving Day.

Bears | Matt Forte unsure of status

Fri, 20 Nov 2015 13:18:29 -0800

Chicago Bears RB Matt Forte (knee) acknowledged that he's unsure if he'll play in Week 11 against the Denver Broncos with a short week on the horizon in Week 12. "I still have to play it smart," Forte said. "I was talking to our head trainer and coach John Fox about it. We have two games in five days (the Bears play at Green Bay on Thanksgiving) and so I have to be smart about it. I don't know what our plan is right now." However, Forte also said he's recovering faster this time around than when he had a similar injury in 2011.

Fantasy Tip: It would not be a surprise to see Chicago be cautious with Forte ($7,700, 15.4% of cap) and rest him up for the Thanksgiving game next week, especially the way Jeremy Langford ($7,300, 14.6% of cap) has played in his absence. Forte is too risky to consider on FantasyScore.

Bears | Matt Forte, Alshon Jeffery questionable

Fri, 20 Nov 2015 10:53:48 -0800

Chicago Bears RB Matt Forte (knee) and WR Alshon Jeffery (groin, shoulder) are both questionable to face the Denver Broncos in Week 11.

Fantasy Tip: Forte ($7,700, 15.4% of cap) could be a game-time decision this Sunday, but the Bears may choose to rest him up for a short week next week. Either way, both Forte and Jeremy Langford ($7,300, 14.6% of cap) are shaky daily plays on FantasyScore, especially if they both split the workload. Jeffery ($7,600, 15.2% of cap) faces a stout secondary and should probably be faded in this matchup.

Bears | Matt Forte open to sharing carries

Fri, 20 Nov 2015 06:22:48 -0800

Chicago Bears RB Matt Forte (knee) said he would be open to sharing carries with RB Jeremy Langford. "I actually like it because now going forward I'm not going to have to play every single play or every down," Forte said. "So we can at least be healthy and be at full speed out there."

Fantasy Tip: Forte ($7,700, 15.4% of cap) seems unlikely to play this weekend because they have a quick turnaround with a Thursday game in Week 12 against the Green Bay Packers. Jeremy Langford ($7,300, 14.6% of cap) has reached a price level that doesn't leave room for error against the stout Denver Broncos on FantasyScore this week.

Bears | Matt Forte may miss another game

Thu, 19 Nov 2015 17:36:03 -0800

Chicago Bears RB Matt Forte (knee) indicated he may not play in the Week 11 game against the Denver Broncos since the team plays against the Green Bay Packers in Week 12 Thursday, Nov. 26.

Fantasy Tip: Forte ($7,700, 15.4% of cap) missed practice Thursday, Nov. 19, which may indicates he will sit out next week, but owners should continue to monitor his situation. Forte's offensive role is uncertain since Jeremy Langford is playing well, so owners may want to wait to add him to their lineups.

Bears | Matt Forte sits Thursday

Thu, 19 Nov 2015 11:28:17 -0800

Chicago Bears RB Matt Forte (knee) was out of practice Thursday, Nov. 19.

Fantasy Tip: Forte ($7,700, 15.4% of cap) seems to be trending towards being out against the Denver Broncos. Check Friday's practice report before going with him or Jeremy Langford ($7,300, 14.6% of cap) on FantasyScore.

Bears | HC ready to welcome Matt Forte back

Wed, 18 Nov 2015 22:02:24 -0800

Chicago Bears RB Matt Forte (knee) is pushing to return from a sprained medial collateral ligament, and he was limited in practice Wednesday, Nov. 18. When Forte is able to return, head coach John Fox will have a balancing act getting Forte touches, as well as RB Jeremy Langford. "This is all tricky," Fox said. "I don't like speculating. I know we're doing everything we can here to create competition amongst our team and learn to enjoy it. So we'll cross that bridge when it happens."

Fantasy Tip: Forte ($7,700, 15.4% of cap) might be able to return against Denver, but that's a tough matchup for FantasyScore players, especially coming back from injury. Then there is the Langford ($7,300, 14.6% of cap), who has filled in with 324 all-purpose yards and three touchdowns in the past two wins while filling in. It's a situation to steer far clear from until it becomes less murky.

Bears | Matt Forte, Alshon Jeffery limited

Wed, 18 Nov 2015 11:43:13 -0800

Chicago Bears RB Matt Forte (knee) and WR Alshon Jeffery (groin) were both limited in practice Wednesday, Nov. 18. Forte has missed the last two games.

Fantasy Tip: Forte ($7,700, 15.4% of cap) could be a game-time decision against the Denver Broncos this week. With Jeremy Langford excelling in his absence, the Bears have no reason to rush him back. Forte is way too risky for the price on FantasyScore against an elite defense. Jeffery ($7,600, 15.2% of cap) should play if he doesn't have a setback, but he, too, doesn't look like a good return on investment in this matchup.

Bears | Jeremy Langford staking his claim

Wed, 18 Nov 2015 10:39:29 -0800

Chicago Bears RB Jeremy Langford has 324 yards from scrimmage in the last two weeks with RB Matt Forte (knee) sidelined, and he reached a speed of 20.66 mph on his 83-yard touchdown catch and run in Week 10, which was the fastest speed recorded by a Chicago ball carrier in 2015.

Fantasy Tip: Forte could return as early as this weekend against the Denver Broncos, which would put a damper on Langford's ($7,300, 14.6% of cap) for the time being. However, because of his recent success, you have to think Chicago will continue to involve him to spell Forte and keep him healthy down the stretch. Against the stingy Broncos defense, however, neither Forte ($7,700, 15.4% of cap) nor Langford are attractive to daily gamers at high price tags.

Bears | Matt Forte inactive Sunday

Sun, 15 Nov 2015 08:53:00 -0800

Chicago Bears RB Matt Forte (knee) is inactive for Week 10's game against the St. Louis Rams.

Fantasy Tip: Remove Forte ($8,000, 16.0% of cap) from all fantasy lineups. Jeremy Langford ($5,000, 10.0% of cap) will receive the start at running back, although he has a less-than-favorable matchup against one of the league's better defenses. He had 142 yards of total offense and a touchdown during Week 9's game versus the San Diego Chargers but he will be hard-pressed to match those stats against St. Louis.

Bears | Matt Forte unlikely to play

Sun, 15 Nov 2015 07:09:30 -0800

Chicago Bears RB Matt Forte (knee) is not expected to play in Week 10's game against the St. Louis Rams, according to multiple sources.

Fantasy Tip: Jeremy Langford ($5,000, 10.0% of cap) would end up starting in place of Forte ($8,000, 16.0% of cap) if he is deactivated. Langford had 18 carries for 72 yards and one touchdown, along with three catches for 70 yards, in Week 9's game against the San Diego Chargers, although he'll have difficulty duplicating those numbers against a formidable St. Louis defense.

Bears | Matt Forte will not rush back

Sat, 14 Nov 2015 08:08:15 -0800

Chicago Bears RB Matt Forte (knee) said his knee is feeling better but that he will not rush back because he could do more damage to the knee if it is not healed.

Fantasy Tip: Forte ($8,000, 16.0% of cap) is listed as questionable for the Week 10 game against the St. Louis Rams, but it appears that he is not ready to play. Owners should avoid Forte because of his uncertain status. Jeremy Langford ($5,000, 10.0% of cap) would start if Forte is inactive and would be a solid starting option.

Bears | Matt Forte confirms MCL injury

Fri, 13 Nov 2015 13:11:57 -0800

Chicago Bears RB Matt Forte (knee) confirmed that he's dealing with a sprained medial collateral ligament in his knee, which is the "same injury" he dealt with in 2011.

Fantasy Tip: Forte ($8,000, 16.0% of cap) missed last week, and these types of injuries typically require at least multiple weeks to recover from. He's questionable this weekend, but you should stay away from him everywhere. Jeremy Langford ($5,000, 10.0% of cap) filled in nicely in Week 9 and should receive another start. However, he's a shaky daily play against the stout defensive front of the St. Louis Rams.

Fri, 13 Nov 2015 10:11:02 -0800

Chicago Bears RB Matt Forte (knee) was limited in practice Friday, Nov. 13, and he's questionable for Week 10.

Fantasy Tip: Forte ($8,000, 16.0% of cap) feels like he's on the low end of the questionable status. Jeremy Langford ($5,000, 10.0% of cap) would have a tough draw against the St. Louis Rams if he goes.

Chicago Bears RB Matt Forte (knee) was limited in practice Thursday, Nov. 12.

Fantasy Tip: Forte ($8,000, 16.0% of cap) is still not expected to play this week despite having two limited practices so far. Assuming he does not play, Jeremy Langford ($5,000, 10.0%) would start again. The St. Louis Rams have been tough against running backs this year, though, allowing just four touchdowns on the ground to the position.

Chicago Bears RB Matt Forte (knee) is not expected to play in Week 10 against the St. Louis Rams despite being limited in practice Wednesday, Nov. 11. Head coach John Fox said Forte is day-to-day and continues to be evaluated. RB Jeremy Langford had 142 yards of total offense in Week 9 against the San Diego Chargers.

Fantasy Tip: Avoid Forte ($8,000, 16.0% of cap) in all fantasy formats for the second straight week. Langford ($5,000, 10.0% of cap) looked great in an expanded role against the Chargers, but the matchup with the Rams is a doozy, and St. Louis has allowed just one receiving score to a running back this year. Let others take Langford this weekend while you look elsewhere for a value back.

Bears | Matt Forte limited Wednesday

Wed, 11 Nov 2015 12:36:56 -0800

Chicago Bears RB Matt Forte (knee) was limited in practice Wednesday, Nov. 11.

Fantasy Tip: It had already been reported that Forte may miss another game with his knee injury, but the fact that he's even practicing in a limited capacity is encouraging. Jeremy Langford could see more playing time even if Forte does play. This situation will need to be monitored as the week progresses, but neither of them has a great matchup against the St. Louis Rams.

Bears | Matt Forte not likely for Week 10

Mon, 09 Nov 2015 12:54:08 -0800

Chicago Bears RB Matt Forte (knee) is already out for Week 9, but his status is in doubt for Week 10 as well. Forte did receive a platelet-rich plasma injection in his injured knee in order to aid the healing process, however.

Fantasy Tip: Forte himself said it just takes time for the injury to heal, that injury being a sprained medial collateral ligament. Jeremy Langford is more than a capable starter for as long as Forte is out. He should be picked up immediately off waivers in seasonal leagues if he is available.

Bears | Matt Forte receives PRP injection

Sat, 07 Nov 2015 15:18:37 -0800

Chicago Bears RB Matt Forte (knee) received a platelet-rich plasma injection in his right knee during the week to facilitate healing, and he won't travel to San Diego for Week 9. "It takes time more than anything," Forte said. "Some people heal faster than others. But more than it being an mental thing, like, 'I'm injured,' it just takes a little time for it to heal before you can really do what you want to do."

Fantasy Tip: Forte is out this week but sounds like he could have a chance to play next week against the St. Louis Rams. Jeremy Langford ($5,000, 10.0% of cap) is a midrange flex option on FantasyScore against the San Diego Chargers.

Bears | Matt Forte, Eddie Royal out

Sat, 07 Nov 2015 11:30:43 -0800

Chicago Bears RB Matt Forte (knee) and WR Eddie Royal (knee) have been ruled out for Week 9, according to head coach John Fox.

Fantasy Tip: Langford ($5,000, 10.0% of cap) will start in place of Forte, and he has a great matchup against the San Diego Chargers. He should be given serious consideration on FantasyScore. Marquess Wilson ($2,000, 4.0%) is another solid play with Royal out, especially at minimum price.

Bears | Matt Forte not ruled out yet

Fri, 06 Nov 2015 15:39:05 -0800

Chicago Bears RB Matt Forte (knee) won't be ruled out for Week 9 against the San Diego Chargers Monday, Nov. 9, until at least Saturday, Nov. 7. Head coach John Fox isn't putting a timetable on Forte. However, it looks clear that RB Jeremy Langford will start against San Diego after Forte missed another practice Friday, Nov. 6.

Fantasy Tip: Forte ($8,000, 16.0% of cap) is likely to miss at least a few weeks with his injury, so ignore him for the time being. The Chargers have one of the worst rush defenses in the league, so Langford ($5,000, 10.0% of cap) isn't a terrible sleeper pick at running back on FantasyScore.

Bears | Matt Forte does not practice

Fri, 06 Nov 2015 13:31:25 -0800

Chicago Bears RB Matt Forte (knee) did not participate in practice Friday, Nov. 6.

Fantasy Tip: Owners will need to monitor the situation because there is a chance that Forte ($8,000, 16.0% of cap) could be a game-time decision against the San Diego Chargers in Week 9. Owners should have a backup plan ready in case Forte is ruled out.

Bears | Matt Forte day-to-day

Thu, 05 Nov 2015 17:09:34 -0800

Chicago Bears RB Matt Forte (knee) is truly considered day-to-day and his status for the Week 9 game against the San Diego Chargers Monday, Nov. 9, is uncertain, according to head coach John Fox.

Fantasy Tip: Owners will need to continue to monitor Forte's ($8,000, 16.0% of cap) status during the week to see if he has any chance to play against the Chargers. Owners should have backup options ready in case Forte is not able to play and may want to avoid him since he play Monday.
