NFL | Ray Rice wins appeal

Fri, 28 Nov 2014 11:49:14 -0800

Free-agent RB Ray Rice (Ravens) has won the appeal of his indefinite suspension and is eligible to play immediately, according to a source.

Fantasy Tip: Rice can sign with any team, but he may remain a free agent for the rest of the season and look for a fresh start in 2015. Owners likely won't have a reason to play Rice, even in the unlikely even he signs with a team this year. Consider adding him off the waiver wire only if you're in a very deep league and are desperate for running back depth heading into the fantasy playoffs.

Colts | No interest in Ray Rice

Tue, 18 Nov 2014 07:37:56 -0800

Free-agent RB Ray Rice (Ravens) is not a player the Indianapolis Colts would consider if he were to be reinstated. Head coach Chuck Pagano was defensive coordinator with the Baltimore Ravens during Rice's best seasons, which spawned speculation between the two parties.

Fantasy Tip: Rice's decline was pretty evident before the season, and he's not worth stashing at this point.

NFL | Ray Rice's appeal to be heard soon

Tue, 21 Oct 2014 10:26:20 -0700

Free-agent RB Ray Rice (Ravens) will have the appeal of his indefinite suspension from the NFL heard Nov. 5-6, according to media reports. A decision on whether commissioner Roger Goodell will testify at the hearing is expected to come this week. If Rice's suspension is overturned and he is signed by a team, he could return this season.

Fantasy Tip: It's highly unlikely that Rice's suspension will be overturned, let alone the possibility that he'd sign with and play for another team this year. Ignore him in all fantasy leagues for the forseeable future.

NFL | Ray Rice could return within a month

Sun, 19 Oct 2014 07:11:03 -0700

Free-agent RB Ray Rice (Ravens) could be reinstated by the NFL by mid-November after a scheduled appeal hearing, which would allow him to sign with another team. There is no guarantee a team would sign him right away, though.

Fantasy Tip: Rice's situation is worth watching, but he probably isn't worth rostering except in deep leagues.
