Ravens | Joe Flacco not placed on PUP list

Sat, 23 Jul 2016 12:56:36 -0700

Baltimore Ravens QB Joe Flacco (knee) was not placed on the Physically Unable to Perform list prior to training camp next week.

Fantasy Tip: It's definitely encouraging news for Flacco and the Ravens as Flacco has been recovering from a torn ACL. Flacco is still not worthy of starting fantasy quarterback status even at full health, however. He has not thrown for more than 4,000 yards or 27 touchdowns in any season.

Ravens | Joe Flacco looks like himself

Tue, 19 Jul 2016 12:20:13 -0700

Baltimore Ravens QB Joe Flacco (knee) is already throwing like his regular, healthy self, according to WR Kamar Aiken. Aiken said Flacco looked the same as he always has when the caught passes from him for the first time this offseason. "He looks 100% to me," Aiken said. Aiken added that Flacco didn't have any "limp or lags" and that he was surprised Flacco looked as good as he did. "I'm just happy to get him back."

Fantasy Tip: This is certainly good news for Flacco and the Ravens offense heading into training camp. Flacco probably still isn't at maximum health, but it looks like he can get there by the start of the regular season. Even with good health, though, Flacco is comfortably a backup fantasy quarterback.

Ravens | Joe Flacco will be ready for first day

Mon, 18 Jul 2016 09:37:28 -0700

Baltimore Ravens QB Joe Flacco (knee) said he plans to be practicing on the first day of training camp Thursday, July 28.

Fantasy Tip: Flacco has some better prospects at receiver this year if Steve Smith and Breshad Perriman prove healthy, but the gunslinger has always been a better real life QB than fantasy one. Take him as a serviceable backup and not as a QB1.

Ravens | Joe Flacco has mental hurdle

Tue, 21 Jun 2016 11:10:30 -0700

Baltimore Ravens QB Joe Flacco (knee) doesn't have a problem with running or cutting or doing anything physically in his recovery from a torn anterior cruciate ligament. Flacco's main test is facing the thoughts of getting hit again. "I don't expect to have those kinds of thoughts linger in my head," Flacco said. "But you never know until you get out there and do it again." Flacco is expected to be ready to go for training camp.

Fantasy Tip: The Ravens will probably take it easy with their starting quarterback for the remainder of the offseason. Even if Flacco is fully healthy when the season starts, he's comfortable in the backup fantasy quarterback conversation.

Ravens | Joe Flacco to work out with teammates

Fri, 17 Jun 2016 16:02:58 -0700

Baltimore Ravens QB Joe Flacco said he plans to work out with some of his teammates over the next month to make sure his arm is strong enough for the work he will receive during training camp. He said he is not worried about his injured knee.

Fantasy Tip: Flacco should be ready for the start of training camp but may see limited playing time during the preseason. He will have some weapons to work with in the passing game and probably should be a No. 2 quarterback in most fantasy leagues.

Ravens | Joe Flacco feels good

Thu, 16 Jun 2016 10:57:48 -0700

Baltimore Ravens QB Joe Flacco (knee) doesn't have any tentativeness while running and cutting during practices. However, getting hit in the pocket will be an adjustment, since that's how he suffered the injury. Flacco said he feels good enough to play now if he had to.

Fantasy Tip: Flacco is expected to be fine for training camp and the regular season unless he has a setback. He's been much more valuable as a real-life QB than as a fantasy one, though, in his career. And with a shaky receiving corps again in 2016, he'll likely be best used as a solid fantasy backup yet again.

Ravens | No minicamp for Joe Flacco

Tue, 14 Jun 2016 21:59:09 -0700

Baltimore Ravens QB Joe Flacco (knee) is expected to be absent for the team's three-day mandatory minicamp as he continues to rehab his knee injury.

Fantasy Tip: With Flacco sidelined it will be Ryan Mallett seeing valuable reps in the summer. But Flacco is expected to be fine for the start of the regular season and he'll once again be a Top 15 fantasy option at his position. He remains a solid QB2 in most formats.

Ravens | Joe Flacco on track for camp

Tue, 07 Jun 2016 12:15:09 -0700

Baltimore Ravens QB Joe Flacco (knee) is making good progress in his recovery and should be able to participate during training camp as long as he does not suffer any setbacks, according to head coach John Harbaugh.

Fantasy Tip: Flacco probably will not see a lot of playing time during the preseason but should be fine for the start of the regular season. Flacco has thrown for at least 20 touchdowns in five of his last seven seasons and has 3,600 in six of those seasons. Flacco is not a great fantasy option but should be a solid No. 2 quarterback in most leagues.

Ravens | Joe Flacco will miss workouts

Mon, 23 May 2016 17:16:13 -0700

Baltimore Ravens QB Joe Flacco (knee) will miss all of the organized team activities this offseason because he is still recovering from a torn anterior cruciate ligament. Flacco said he has made big improvements in his recovery, and head coach John Harbaugh said Flacco should be ready for training camp. QB Ryan Mallett will work with the first-team offense during the workouts.

Fantasy Tip: Flacco still has a few months to recover from his injury if he wants to be ready for camp. He threw 14 touchdowns and 12 interceptions before suffering the injury in 2015 but did throw at least 20 touchdowns in five of his previous six seasons. Flacco probably should be considered a No. 2 quarterback in most fantasy leagues.

Ravens | Joe Flacco hasn't been throwing

Tue, 19 Apr 2016 09:23:21 -0700

Baltimore Ravens QB Joe Flacco (knee) said he hasn't done much throwing this offseason and has been limited to 15-yard tosses. Flacco acknowledged that he'll need to start throwing soon. He said he has resumed running, though.

Fantasy Tip: Flacco should have more weapons at his disposal in the passing game this year, but coming off a serious knee injury, he's even riskier than ever, and Flacco has never had a high fantasy ceiling at quarterback. He should be considered a fantasy backup, at best.
