Texans | Arian Foster probably going to IR

Tue, 04 Aug 2015 13:37:57 -0700

Houston Texans RB Arian Foster (groin) will likely begin the regular season on the short-term Reserve/Injured list. Foster suffered a groin injury Tuesday, Aug. 4, that will likely require surgery.

Fantasy Tip: The good news is that this isn't happening in the midst of the season. The bad news is that Foster will probably still miss at least the first few weeks of the season. Alfred Blue becomes the top priority on the waiver wire for those who drafted Foster. For those who haven't drafted yet, Foster turns into a mid-round pick and should no longer be viewed as a RB1.

Texans | Arian Foster will have surgery

Tue, 04 Aug 2015 11:45:38 -0700

Houston Texans RB Arian Foster (groin) will undergo surgery on his injured groin. He should return during the season, however.

Fantasy Tip: Exactly when Foster will be able to return is still not known, but he will probably be forced to miss the first few games of the season at the least. Alfred Blue is now essentially a must add for those who have already drafted Foster. Foster is now out of the RB1 conversation.

Texans | Arian Foster may need surgery

Tue, 04 Aug 2015 11:06:34 -0700

Updating a previous report, Houston Texans RB Arian Foster (groin) may need surgery on his injured groin.

Fantasy Tip: If Foster does need surgery, Alfred Blue will already be one of the hottest waiver wire pickups of the year. Foster adds this injury to the plethora of injuries he has sustained in his career. He is one of the riskier top-end running backs in fantasy football. Those who have drafted and/or will draft him may want to take him later than he's currently being drafted and/or draft Blue in a later round as well. If Foster doesn't need surgery, it's a different story, but he still comes with risk considering his injury history.

Texans | Arian Foster already injured

Tue, 04 Aug 2015 10:20:35 -0700

Houston Texans RB Arian Foster (groin) suffered a groin injury during the team's first fully padded practice Monday, Aug. 3, according to sources.

Fantasy Tip: We already knew that Foster was injury-prone, and he's becoming more of an injury risk as he ages. Be extremely careful not to overvalue Foster in fantasy football drafts because of his past success. Handcuffing him to Alfred Blue would be wise. There's a good chance that Foster could be a bust for his owners in 2015.

Texans | Arian Foster in rare company

Tue, 14 Jul 2015 13:17:56 -0700

Houston Texans RB Arian Foster became the seventh player in the last 20 years to score at least five rushing and five receiving touchdowns in the same season in 2014.

Fantasy Tip: What's more impressive is that Foster did that in 13 games. On the year, he amassed over 1,500 total yards and 13 total touchdowns. If Foster can stay healthy, he should be in RB1 territory once again in 2015.

Texans | Arian Foster has nose for end zone

Sat, 11 Jul 2015 20:56:48 -0700

Houston Texans RB Arian Foster has scored 62 total touchdowns in 66 games since taking over as the primary running back, including 13 in 13 games last year.

Fantasy Tip: Foster actually played just 10 full games last year and still managed to score 13 times. He is still the lead back in Houston, and thanks to his ability as a runner and a pass-catcher, he is still solid RB1 in all formats.

Texans | Arian Foster will be focus when healthy

Wed, 10 Jun 2015 16:10:28 -0700

Houston Texans RB Arian Foster will get plenty of work on the ground this season, so long as he can stay healthy, according to head coach Bill O'Brien Wednesday, June 10. "Well, we have a very good running back," O'Brien said. "So you can rest assured that as long as he's healthy and he's out there, we will run the ball. I can tell you that. That's one thing we will do," said O'Brien. Foster has been available throughout organized team activities, and he has attended all of the Texans' voluntary offseason programs.

Fantasy Tip: Foster played 10 full games last season and parts of three others. Foster finished the season with 1,246 yards on the ground, 327 through the air, and 13 total touchdowns. At 28 years old, Foster should still have a couple seasons of elite-level production left in him, if he can stay healthy. Foster should be considered as a top-10 running back in redraft leagues.

Texans | Texans to scale back Arian Foster?

Thu, 19 Feb 2015 21:06:04 -0800

Houston Texans RB Arian Foster will have his carries managed in game more often in 2015, according to head coach Bill O'Brien. O'Brien also said that running back is a position the team will look at in the 2015 NFL Draft.

Fantasy Tip: Foster should still be considered a No. 1 running back for fantasy purposes, but if the Texans do use an early pick on a running back, that player will be worth owning as an insurance policy if you end up drafting Foster.

Texans | Arian Foster has hamstring injury

Sun, 28 Dec 2014 10:43:37 -0800

Houston Texans RB Arian Foster (hamstring) suffered a hamstring injury in Week 17 and is considered questionable to return.

Fantasy Tip: The Texans still have a chance to make the playoffs, so owners should monitor the situation to see if Foster would miss a possible playoff game. Foster likely will be selected in one of the first two rounds in 2015 drafts.

Texans | Arian Foster should play

Fri, 26 Dec 2014 15:31:30 -0800

Houston Texans RB Arian Foster (non-injury) fully participated in practice Friday, Dec. 26, and is listed as probable for Week 17.

Fantasy Tip: Foster has only rushed for one touchdown in his last five games but has posted solid numbers as a runner and receiver each week. Foster should be a solid starting option for owners on FantasyScore.
