Wed, 30 Jul 2014 09:11:30 -0700
Houston Texans RB Arian Foster (hamstring) participated in practice Wednesday, July 30.
Fantasy Tip: The team may take things slowly with Foster because it is a hamstring injury, but it appears like Foster should be ready for the start of the season. Foster probably will be selected in one of the first few rounds and should be started in all leagues.
Mon, 28 Jul 2014 11:31:30 -0700
Houston Texans RB Arian Foster (hamstring) did not practice Monday, July 28. Foster had his hamstring stretched during practice Sunday, July 27.
Fantasy Tip: This was just a precaution. Foster is too valuable to risk getting injured in training camp and he'll probably see limited action in the preseason. It is best to keep an eye on him, however. As long as he's healthy, he's an RB1 candidate in all scoring formats.
Sun, 27 Jul 2014 21:39:03 -0700
Houston Texans RB Arian Foster (undisclosed) left practice early Sunday, July 27, but the injury does not appear to be serious.
Fantasy Tip: Foster has dealt with injuries in the past, but there is enough time for him to get healthy before the start of the season. If healthy, Foster should be a starting running back in all fantasy leagues.
Wed, 04 Jun 2014 05:34:30 -0700
Houston Texans head coach Bill O'Brien said RB Arian Foster would fill the roles that RBs Kevin Faulk and Danny Woodhead did with the New England Patriots.
Fantasy Tip: On the surface, that doesn't seem like an encouraging tidbit because those two didn't run the ball as much as a lead back does. However, if they feed him the ball and feature him in those receiving roles, he could return to elite fantasy status.
Thu, 22 May 2014 05:32:06 -0700
Houston Texans RB Arian Foster expects to be utilized a lot in 2014. "Coach (Bill) O'Brien has expressed many times how he wants to use me a lot out of the backfield," Foster said. "That's one of my strengths as a running back. So I'm excited about it."
Fantasy Tip: Foster is apparently 100 percent recovered from offseason back surgery and is ready to roll. While his usage won't be as high as it was when he was a consensus top-three fantasy football selection, he still could be quite productive. His fall outside the first round is more indicative of his true value.

Fantasy Tip: Foster likely will receive most of the carries for the team this upcoming season. Even though there is an injury risk with Foster, he should be seen as a starting running back in all fantasy leagues in 2014 but is no longer a top-five pick.

Sun, 16 Mar 2014 09:18:53 -0700
Houston Texans RB Arian Foster (back) said he has been medically cleared from the back surgery he underwent in November. It is not known if Foster has been cleared just to run or if he is able to participate in all football activities.
Fri, 21 Feb 2014 18:21:35 -0800
Houston Texans general manager Rick Smith said RB Arian Foster (back) is doing well in his recovery from back surgery.
Fantasy Tip: Foster probably will need to take part on some of the team's offseason workouts to get comfortable with the offense Bill O'Brien is bringing with him. Foster likely will still be a starting fantasy back next season but may be a low-end No. 1, depending on the quarterback.

Houston Texans RB Arian Foster (back) is out for the year and will be placed on Injured Reserve Monday, Nov. 11. Foster will need season-ending back surgery.
Fantasy Tip: It appears safe to drop Foster. Get Ben Tate into your lineups as he will now carry the load for the Texans. Dennis Johnson may also be worth a look in deeper leagues, especially if Tate continues to have issues with a rib injury.
Fri, 08 Nov 2013 16:33:24 -0800

Houston Texans RB Arian Foster (back, hamstring) is reportedly dealing with a disc problem in his back. He'll receive treatment from a specialist in hopes of avoiding season-ending surgery.
Fantasy Tip: This isn't what you want to hear if you're a Foster owner. He dealt with a disc problem this preseason, but was able to recover from it. This time around, it appears to be more serious. Cover your bases with RB depth if you own him. Ben Tate and some combination of Dennis Johnson and Deji Karim will fill in in the meantime.
Fri, 08 Nov 2013 11:19:26 -0800
Houston Texans RB Arian Foster (back, hamstring) missed his third straight practice Friday, Nov. 8, and has been ruled out for Week 10 against the Arizona Cardinals. Interim head coach Wade Phillips said Foster has seen multiple specialists for his back injury, but there is no timetable for his recovery. RB Ben Tate will start and is expected to see the bulk of the workload. RB Dennis Johnson is expected to spell Tate, and Houston is leaning toward using RB Deji Karim as the third running back.
Fantasy Tip: Tate should be in your lineup if you own him. Consider him an RB2 or flex. Johnson looked solid in tandem with Tate last week but should only be used as a flex in cavernous formats.

Houston Texans RB Arian Foster (back) did not participate in practice Thursday, Nov. 7.
Fantasy Tip: Not a good sign for Foster to play in Week 10, as he continues to try to get to the bottom of a back issue. Have another plan in place if you are a Foster owner.
Wed, 06 Nov 2013 11:22:37 -0800
Houston Texans RB Arian Foster (back) did not participate in practice Wednesday, Nov. 6, because of a back injury. Interim head coach Wade Phillips said Foster is meeting with doctors to have the injury diagnosed.
Fantasy Tip: Owners will have to wait for the diagnosis to come out and monitor his practice participation during the week before getting a better idea about Foster's status for Week 10. This doesn't look good, however. He's been beat up since training camp and will probably be limited if he does suit up against the Arizona Cardinals. Ben Tate, who is nursing cracked ribs, should receive the bulk of the carries, and Dennis Johnson could also see valuable touches if Foster doesn't play.
Tue, 05 Nov 2013 20:35:03 -0800
Houston Texans RB Arian Foster (back, hamstring) entered the Week 9 game with a hamstring issue, and left with a back injury. It's uncertain if the two are related, and whether he'll be forced to miss time as a result of the injury.
Fantasy Tip: Fantasy owners who started Foster last week were left with a big, fat zero since Foster left on the opening drive of the first quarter. There will be plenty of trepidation for fantasy owners, and rightly so, when going to plug Foster into their lineups.
Tue, 05 Nov 2013 11:05:35 -0800
Houston Texans RB Ben Tate (ribs) said he was in a pretty good amount of pain after the team's Week 9 loss to the Indianapolis Colts, but he still plans on playing against the Arizona Cardinals in Week 10. Tate said it's "hard to breathe and laugh."
Fantasy Tip: Tate's value in Week 10 obviously depends on whether Arian Foster (hamstring) will suit up. Even if Foster plays, expect him to be limited somewhat, making Tate at least a decent flex play.
Sun, 03 Nov 2013 17:28:23 -0800
Houston Texans RB Arian Foster (back, hamstring) left the Week 9 game against the Indianapolis Colts due to a back injury, and he is done for the night.
Fantasy Tip: Foster was a game-time decision due to his hamstring issue, and now he has a new ailment. It has been a disappointment time for fantasy owners of Foster, who thought they might be seeing the light at the end of the tunnel when he was active tonight. No dice.
Sun, 03 Nov 2013 15:05:43 -0800
Houston Texans RB Ben Tate (rib) is expected to be active for the Week 9 game against the Indianapolis Colts, but RB Arian Foster (hamstring) will also apparently be active, according to a source.
Fantasy Tip: Tate was looking like a solid fantasy option until the news that Foster would likely be available. Foster and Tate are expected to split carries, since they've both been banged up. Consider both an RB2 or flex fantasy option.
Sun, 03 Nov 2013 14:57:56 -0800
Houston Texans RB Arian Foster (hamstring) is expected to be active for the Week 9 game against the Indianapolis Colts, according to a source.
Fantasy Tip: If you were holding out hope that Foster would play, you're in luck. If you're a Ben Tate fantasy owner, you're probably saying bad words. Look for a split in totes for Foster and Tate, as both have been nicked up and are unlikely to should the entire load themselves.
Fri, 01 Nov 2013 13:46:33 -0700
Houston Texans RB Arian Foster (hamstring) practiced in full Friday, Nov. 1, but is questionable for Week 9.
Fantasy Tip: Foster practiced in full for the second straight day, which is a good sign that he should be able to play in Week 9 against the Indianapolis Colts. However, he'll reportedly be a game-time decision. Chances are he'll play, but you'll leave yourself in a bind if he doesn't go since he's got the late game Sunday evening.
Fri, 01 Nov 2013 11:16:18 -0700
Houston Texans RB Arian Foster (hamstring) practiced again Friday, Nov. 1, but will be a game-time decision in Week 9 against the Indianapolis Colts.
Fantasy Tip: The good news is that Foster has practiced late this week. The bad news: The Texans play on Sunday night, so leaving him in you're roster is a big risk if he winds up inactive. If we had to guess, we'd say he plays, but it might not be worth the risk unless you have options going on Monday night.
Thu, 31 Oct 2013 11:40:13 -0700

Fantasy Tip: Gary Kubiak said both running backs are likely to be game-time decisions in Week 9 against the Indianapolis Colts. If Foster plays, he should be in your lineup. If he doesn't and Tate gets the nod, consider him an RB3 or flex play, at best.

Mon, 28 Oct 2013 12:38:55 -0700
Houston Texans head coach Gary Kubiak said he is concerned with the team's running back situation with both RBs Arian Foster (hamstring) and Ben Tate (ribs) missing practice Monday, Oct. 28. "I'm very concerned. We understand Ben's situation. I think they're both going to give us everything they can to try and play this week. I don't think we're going to know anything until later in the week, which is probably a good thing. I know it's a good thing we had the bye."
Fantasy Tip: Foster and Tate both say they will be able to play in Week 9, but whether they practice for the rest of the week will be the real indicator. This situation won't be clear until later this week. Foster should be in your starting lineup if he's good enough to go.
Mon, 28 Oct 2013 10:13:18 -0700
Houston Texans RB Arian Foster (hamstring) did not participate in practice Monday, Oct. 28. He said he expects the recovery from his hamstring injury to occur quickly and expects to practice this week.

Tue, 22 Oct 2013 14:53:49 -0700
Houston Texans RB Arian Foster (hamstring) said he expects to be fine in Week 9 against the Indianapolis Colts after having a chance to rest up during the bye week. He aggravated his hamstring ailment in Week 7 after missing practice time with the injury the previous week. "It's coming along good," Foster said. RB Ben Tate (ribs) finished the Week 7 game in place of Foster, but he said he's dealing with four broken ribs.
Fantasy Tip: Foster should be good to go against the Colts and should remain in all lineups if he's playing.
Mon, 21 Oct 2013 11:24:11 -0700
Houston Texans RB Arian Foster (hamstring) has what is being described as a minor hamstring pull. It will not be known if he misses any time until at least Wednesday or Thursday of this week.

Thu, 17 Oct 2013 15:22:57 -0700
Houston Texans RB Arian Foster (chest, hamstring, thumb) did not participate in practice Thursday, Oct. 17, because of a sore hamstring.

Wed, 16 Oct 2013 17:26:26 -0700
Houston Texans RB Arian Foster (chest, thumb) and RB Ben Tate (elbow) were each able to fully participate in practice Wednesday, Oct. 16.
Fantasy Tip: Start Foster and Tate as you normally would. Even though the Kansas City Chiefs, the Week 7 opponent, enters play unbeaten, the Chiefs rank just 23rd in the NFL against the rush, allowing 116 yards per game on the ground. The Houston offense might be even more ground-based than usual, too, with the quarterback situation unclear.
Fri, 11 Oct 2013 14:17:01 -0700
Houston Texans RB Arian Foster (thumb, chest) was limited in practice Thursday, Oct. 11, and is probable for Week 6.
