Sun, 17 Sep 2017 14:12:20 -0700

Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR DeSean Jackson caught three passes for 39 yards against the Chicago Bears in Week 2.

Fantasy Tip: Jackson is expected to be a deep threat for the Bucs this season but was held in check this week. He may only be a flex option in Week 3 since he will be facing the Minnesota Vikings.

Buccaneers | Mike Evans pumped for DeSean Jackson

Thu, 18 May 2017 18:19:16 -0700

Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Mike Evans said it will be "awesome" to play with WR DeSean Jackson, and he believes they "could be one of the best tandems in the league."

Fantasy Tip: Evans was already one of the top fantasy receivers, and having Jackson to take the top off defenses should only help his value. Jackson can be a little big-play dependent, but he has enough upside to use as a WR3.

Buccaneers | DeSean Jackson to occasionally return punts

Sat, 11 Mar 2017 09:23:43 -0800

Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR DeSean Jackson will return punts moving forward, but head coach Dirk Koetter said the team will be selective when to use him in that role.

Fantasy Tip: In other words, Jackson will not be the primary punt returner, but he will be asked to field a punt when the team could use a big play on special teams. It's unlikely to result in more than 10 or 15 returns per season, but it could serve as a small boost to his fantasy value in return-yardage leagues. Jackson should be able to maintain his WR3 value in Tampa Bay.

Buccaneers | Big money for DeSean Jackson

Thu, 09 Mar 2017 19:37:36 -0800

Updating a previous report, Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR DeSean Jackson's deal is for three years and is worth $33.5 million with $20 million guaranteed.

Fantasy Tip: Jackson will add a big-play weapon to Tampa Bay's offense, and he should help Jameis Winston make another leap forward. Jackson could still be boom or bust from one game to the next, but he has enough upside to grab as a WR3.

Buccaneers | DeSean Jackson officially signs with Bucs

Thu, 09 Mar 2017 14:53:19 -0800

Free-agent WR DeSean Jackson (Redskins) officially signed to a three-year, $35 million deal with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers Thursday, March 9.

Fantasy Tip: Jackson joins Mike Evans for a dynamic deep-threat duo for Jameis Winston to throw to. Evans will still be Winston's go-to target, but Jackson will be able to open up the field for the Buccaneers and will ideally make the offense better as a whole. There's reason to be excited about Jackson in his new uniform, but he should not be viewed as more than a low-end WR2 to high-end WR3.

Buccaneers | DeSean Jackson expected to Bucs

Thu, 09 Mar 2017 05:37:19 -0800

Washington Redskins impending free-agent WR DeSean Jackson is expected to sign with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, according to sources.

Fantasy Tip: Jackson is coming off a 56-1,005-4 season in a powerful offense. Those numbers aren't bad, but more was expected when he left Philadelphia after a career year in 2013. Jackson has upside as a WR3 with Mike Evans commanding so much attention on one side.

Redskins | WAS, DeSean Jackson expected to part ways

Tue, 07 Mar 2017 19:12:46 -0800

Washington Redskins impending free-agent WR DeSean Jackson and the team are expected to part ways, multiple people with knowledge of the situation have indicated. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Philadelphia Eagles, New England Patriots and Dallas Cowboys have all inquired about the wide receiver, and "barring any unforeseen circumstances," Jackson will not be in Washington next season.

Fantasy Tip: This has been the anticipated result of Jackson's free-agency journey, with the only question being just where he'll end up. The Buccaneers have emerged as the early frontrunners for a variety of reasons, but the other teams mentioned could make an interesting case as well to land the nine-year veteran. Regardless of where he plays, Jackson will still have WR2 potential.

Buccaneers | Strong 'belief' DeSean Jackson signs w/ TB

Sat, 04 Mar 2017 15:07:56 -0800

Impending free-agent WR DeSean Jackson (Redskins) is expected to land a contract that will pay him close to $12 million annually, and the among league personnel at the 2017 NFL Scouting Combine is that Jackson will sign with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, according to Draft Analyst's Tony Pauline.

Fantasy Tip: Pauline cites strong-armed Jameis Winston, the warm weather and no state income tax as reasons Jackson will find the Bucs attractive. It would be a huge get for Tampa Bay, as defenses would have to think twice about tilting their coverages toward Mike Evans with one of the league's best deep threats on the other side. While Jackson would probably remain a boom-or-bust WR3 and Evans might take a slight hit, Winston would shoot right up into fantasy QB1 territory.

Redskins | Washington to talk to own FAs at combine

Fri, 24 Feb 2017 12:28:12 -0800

The Washington Redskins have yet to engage in talks with any of their players with expiring contracts - a list that includes impending free agents WR Pierre Garcon, WR DeSean Jackson, TE Vernon Davis, DE Chris Baker. However, multiple sources report the Redskins expect to meet with the representatives of their impending free agents at the NFL Scouting Combine next week.

Fantasy Tip: It's a common practice for front office personnel and player reps to discuss contracts at the combine, although Washington is making an already very long week even longer by handling its business in this manner. Garcon and Jackson are each expected to command at least $9 million in their next contracts, so both players could be on different teams next season. It's a virtual certainty at least one will not come back.
