Orioles | Gerardo Parra hitting well with O's

Tue, 18 Aug 2015 10:09:46 -0700

Baltimore Orioles OF Gerardo Parra is batting .292 with three home runs and five RBI in 65 at-bats since being traded to the Orioles last month. He has started 10 games in right field and twice in left field.

Fantasy Tip: Parra ($4,500, 9.0% of cap) has done nothing but hit this year, going 125-for-388 (.322) with 12 home runs and 36 RBI combine with the Orioles and Milwaukee Brewers. His lineup placement at No. 2 behind Manny Machado is very favorable to daily gamers, too. Tonight against Jacob deGrom, though, Parra may struggle to return any value.

Baltimore Orioles OF Gerardo Parra went 1-for-3 with a double, run scored and a walk in a 6-2 win over the Detroit Tigers Saturday, Aug. 1.

Fantasy Tip: Parra ($4,700, 9.4% of cap) is enjoying the best offensive season of his career, and there is no reason he can't continue to be a useful, mid-priced option at FantasyScore now that he is part of a Baltimore offense ranked sixth in runs scored.

Orioles | Gerardo Parra in midst of hit streak

Fri, 31 Jul 2015 09:12:35 -0700

Baltimore Orioles OF Gerardo Parra is riding a 14-game hitting streak in which he's batting .460 with 13 runs scored. His streak is the longest active streak in the majors right now.

Fantasy Tip: The move to Baltimore definitely won't hurt Parra's ($4,700, 9.4% of cap) fantasy value. He'll likely be hitting atop the Baltimore order, too, which might allow Manny Machado to enter a more friendly run-producing spot in the lineup. The trade will hurt the playing time of Travis Snider and Nolan Reimold.

Brewers | Milwaukee lands another prospect

Fri, 31 Jul 2015 07:58:58 -0700

Milwaukee Brewers OF Gerardo Parra was traded to the Baltimore Orioles Friday, July 31, in exchange for SP Zach Davies.

Fantasy Tip: With Parra moving out of Milwaukee, plenty of opportunities open up in the Brewers outfield, especially since Carlos Gomez is gone, too. Khris Davis ($3,700, 7.4% of cap) is once again assured of an everyday role in left field, while Shane Peterson and Logan Schafer could split time in center field. Domingo Santana is another option for Milwaukee.

Orioles | Baltimore to acquire Gerardo Parra

Fri, 31 Jul 2015 07:44:54 -0700

Updating a previous report, Milwaukee Brewers OF Gerardo Parra will be traded to the Baltimore Orioles Friday, July 31, for P Zach Davies pending physicals, according to a source.

Fantasy Tip: A move to Baltimore should be nice for Parra's ($4,700, 9.4% of cap) fantasy value, and he could remain in the leadoff spot, pushing Manny Machado to the middle of the order. Parra will now set the table for a much more potent offense as one of baseball's hottest bats. Davies projects as a back-of-the-rotation starter in the majors and should be monitored in dynasty leagues.

Fri, 31 Jul 2015 07:34:13 -0700

Mets | Gerardo Parra not in the plans for Mets

Wed, 29 Jul 2015 16:17:13 -0700

Milwaukee Brewers OF Gerardo Parra is not currently a trade target of the New York Mets, according to sources.

Fantasy Tip: Parra ($4,700, 9.4% of cap) has been one of the best hitters in the game since mid-May. He has 45 runs, nine home runs, 25 RBI, seven stolen bases and a .343/.391/.545 slash line over his past 70 games. He is expected to be dealt before the trade deadline, and the impact to his fantasy value will largely depend on where he lands.

Mets | NY wants to add another bat

Wed, 29 Jul 2015 12:17:58 -0700

The New York Mets want to add another big bat at the trading deadline, and they have their sights set on San Diego Padres OF Justin Upton, Colorado Rockies OF Carlos Gonzalez, Milwaukee Brewers OFs Carlos Gomez and Gerardo Parra and Cincinnati Reds OF Jay Bruce. The Padres and Mets didn't agree on a prospect package for Upton, but the talks could be rekindled. Gonzalez's price tag would be high, as he is heating up this summer. The Reds are showing interest in SP Zack Wheeler in exchange for Bruce. Reds OF Marlon Byrd could be a fallback option for the Mets.

Fantasy Tip: The Mets surely could use a boost on the offensive side, and any of these bats would do just fine. A move to New York for any of these names is unlikely to drastically affect their fantasy value, although some of those names would be leaving fine hitting environments.
