Hendrick Motorsports announced Tuesday, June 17, that driver Jeff Gordon will have Panasonic as his primary sponsor in the Toyota Save-Mart 350 at Sonoma Sunday, June 22, and for this year's race in September in Atlanta. The electronics company will be the primary sponsor for the No. 24 car in select races through the 2016 season.

Fantasy Tip: With Gordon getting a new, high-profile sponsor, it puts to rest any idea that Gordon will be retiring anytime soon.

Hendrick Motorsports drivers Jeff Gordon, Jimmie Johnson and Kasey Kahne each head to Kansas Speedway Saturday, May 10, with two career wins at the track. Dale Earnhardt Jr. is the only Hendrick driver without a win at Kansas, and he has an Average Finish of 15.9 in 15 career starts.

Fantasy Tip: If you're in a fantasy league which restricts the number of times you can use a driver, Dale Jr. might be best used another weekend. However, Gordon has been performing well lately, and Johnson is certainly due. Both are must-start fantasy options, and Kahne is a nice sleeper as well.

Hendrick Motorsports driver Jeff Gordon leads the Sprint Cup Series in points, but he knows wins are more important than ever to make the Chase. He finished second at the Toyota Owners 400 at Richmond International Raceway, his second runner-up finish in the past three races. He has led multiple laps in four of the past five races. "I mean, as good as we're running, I definitely feel like we can win races just about anywhere that we go, and if we continue to perform like this, we are going to win," Gordon said.

Fantasy Tip: Gordon has been outstanding this season, and has been a fantasy stud regardless of the track type. He leads all active drivers with six wins at Talladega, and he has 15 Tops 5s and 843 laps led at Talladega, which also is best among all active drivers.

The Chase will now consist of 13 drivers. NASCAR also placed Front Row Motorsports and Penske Championship Racing on probation after radio chatter showed the teams colluded to let driver Joey Logano pass driver David Gilliland to earn points.

Hendrick Motorsports driver Jeff Gordon was fined $100,000 and docked 25 points and put on probation for the rest of the season for intentionally crashing Michael Waltrip Racing driver Clint Bowyer in the Sprint Cup race at Phoenix International Raceway last weekend. "I take responsibility for my actions on the racetrack," Gordon said in a statement. "I accept NASCAR's decision and look forward to ending the season on a high note at Homestead." Bowyer finished in 28th place, eliminating him championship contention with only one race left. Also, owner Rick Hendrick was docked 25 owner points and crew chief Alan Gustafson was placed on probation for the rest of the season. Bowyer's crew chief, Brian Pattie, was fined $25,000 and put on probation through Dec. 31. Gordon's loss of points dropped him to 11th in the standings.

Jeff Gordon ended a 66-race winless streak with a win Sunday, Feb. 27, at the Subway Fresh Fit 500 at Phoenix International Raceway, reports The Associated Press. "We just beat Kyle Busch!" Gordon yelled after the race. The 66-game winless streak was the longest of Gordon's career.

With eight laps to go, Gordon passed Busch and never looked back. "It's been a long time, I know, and I'm going to savor this one so much," Gordon said. Early in the race, Gordon was knocked into the wall and had to avoid a massive wreck later in the race. He led 138 laps, which was a race high.

"He said the sun got into his eyes. Then we got down into (Turn) 1 and I just drove up next to him to show him my displeasure of what went on and he just flat out wrecked us. He wrecked himself. It was pretty stupid," Gordon said. Gordon shoved Burton when the two met on the track after the crash.

Gordon also said he has committed to drive at least five more years. AARP will become his primary sponsor for 22 Sprint Cup races next season, with DuPont and Pepsi filling the other 14 races.
