NASCAR | Several race way into Daytona 500

Drivers Dave Blaney, Robby Gordon, Joe Nemechek and Michael McDowell all raced their way into the Daytona 500 this weekend during the Gatorade Duels Thursday, Feb. 23. Drivers Michael Waltrip, Kenny Wallace, Bill Elliott, Robert Richardson Jr., J.J. Yeley and Mike Wallace failed to qualify for the race.

Dave Rodman, of NASCAR.com, reports Front Row Motorsports driver Travis Kvapil will race in the Daytona 500 Feb. 14 in place of driver Kevin Conway. Conway was not approved by NASCAR to race on the Superspeedway. Robert Richardson Jr. will drive the team's third car at Daytona.

Bob Pockrass, of SceneDaily.com, reports Front Row Motorsports driver David Gilliland will race in the Daytona 500 with BAM Racing and then move to the No. 38 FRM car for all but two of the remaining Sprint Cup races in 2010. Driver Robert Richardson Jr. will drive in the races at Talladega in April and Daytona in July.

Dave Rodman, of NASCAR.com, reports Front Row Motorsports will field a third car during the 2010 season. The No. 38 Ford will be split between drivers David Gilliland, Robert Richardson Jr., who will drive in the Daytona 500, and possibly John Andretti, who was the full-time driver last year.

Jay Robinson Racing | Team names driver for NNS race

Jay Robinson Racing officials announced Thursday, Feb. 7, that driver Robert Richardson Jr. will drive the No. 4 Chevrolet in the NASCAR Nationwide Series Camping World 300 season-opener at Daytona International Speedway. The sponsor for Richardson and the No. 4 car will be JVC for a five-race deal. JVC will be an associate sponsor in the 30 other races also. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
