Patriots | Pats too cheap for Danny Amendola

Sat, 14 Apr 2018 20:18:35 -0700

Miami Dolphins WR Danny Amendola said New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick's unwillingness to give him a competitive offer caused him to sign with the Dolphins in free agency. "When free agency broke, I came to the realization that he wasn't going to really come close to any of the other offers I had," Amendola said.

Fantasy Tip: If Amendola can actually stay on the field, he should slide into the slot to replace Jarvis Landry in Miami. He will have WR3 potential, especially in PPR formats.

Dolphins | Danny Amendola joining Dolphins

Tue, 13 Mar 2018 11:31:48 -0700

Free-agent WR Danny Amendola (Patriots) is expected to sign with the Miami Dolphins, according to a source. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Fantasy Tip: This is somewhat of a surprise. Amendola joins one of the New England Patriots' division rivals, but he will have a significant role with the absence of Jarvis Landry. If he can stay healthy, Amendola possesses WR3 appeal at best.

Patriots | Danny Amendola hopes to play

Wed, 28 Feb 2018 15:26:29 -0800

New England Patriots impending free-agent WR Danny Amendola said he hopes to play in 2018 and that it would ideally be with the Patriots.

Fantasy Tip: Amendola had a solid 2017 season when he finished with 659 yards and two touchdowns. He likely would be a slot receiver if he returns to the Patriots and could be a late-round option in deeper fantasy leagues.

Patriots | Danny Amendola favoring New England?

Sat, 24 Feb 2018 18:24:35 -0800

New England Patriots impending free-agent WR Danny Amendola will likely re-sign with the Patriots if he decides to play another season, in the opinion of Mike Reiss of ESPNBoston.com.

Fantasy Tip: Amendola had another impressive run in the playoffs, but he is injury prone and has never put up big numbers during the regular season. He is valuable to New England's offense, but he is no more than a WR5 for fantasy owners.

Patriots | Free agency decisions ahead for New England

Mon, 05 Feb 2018 10:55:13 -0800

The New England Patriots face the prospect of losing several key free agents. The Patriots have to address key impending free agents in OTs Nate Solder, Cameron Fleming and LaAdrian Waddle, along with RB Rex Burkhead, WR Danny Amendola, CB Malcolm Butler, WR/ST Matthew Slater and RB Dion Lewis. New England is projected to have approximately $17 million in salary cap space. TE Dwayne Allen, TE Martellus Bennett, DT Alan Branch, LB David Harris and RB Mike Gillislee all could be released to create more cap space.

Patriots | Danny Amendola caps big playoff run

Sun, 04 Feb 2018 19:32:57 -0800

New England Patriots WR Danny Amendola caught eight of his 11 targets for 152 yards in a 41-33 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl LII, and he caught 26 passes for 348 yards in three games this postseason.

Fantasy Tip: Amendola only had 659 receiving yards all year, but he was a force throughout the playoffs. He's scheduled to be a free agent this offseason, and his history suggests he'll be a depth option, at best, for fantasy owners no matter where he ends up.

Patriots | Danny Amendola scores two touchdowns

Sun, 21 Jan 2018 17:25:07 -0800

New England Patriots WR Danny Amendola finished with seven receptions for 84 yards and a pair of touchdowns in the AFC Championship Game against the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday, Jan. 21.

Fantasy Tip: One of Amendola's touchdowns came on a nice toe-tap grab in the back of the end zone. He and Brandin Cooks really picked up the slack once Rob Gronkowski went down with a head injury in the first half. He'll be a big target in the Super Bowl in Minneapolis in two weeks.

New England Patriots WR Danny Amendola caught 11 passes on 13 targets for 112 yards in a 35-14 win over the Tennessee Titans Saturday, Jan. 13.

Fantasy Tip: Amendola had more catches and more yards than he had during any game during the regular season. He could be a nice DFS sleeper next weekend in case the trend continues.

Patriots | Danny Amendola quiet in win

Sun, 24 Dec 2017 18:48:21 -0800

New England Patriots WR Danny Amendola managed three receptions for 28 yards on three targets in Week 16 against the Buffalo Bills.

Fantasy Tip: Amendola really fizzled down the stretch when fantasy needed him most. Over his past five games he managed just 176 receiving yards with no scores and 14 total catches.

Patriots | Nothing doing for Danny Amendola

Sun, 17 Dec 2017 20:41:23 -0800

New England Patriots WR Danny Amendola posted just 23 yards on two receptions across four targets in Week 15 against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Fantasy Tip: Amendola has managed just 11 grabs for 148 yards and no scores over his past four outings. That type of production makes him more of a WR4 in PPR leagues, and WR5 in standard play heading into Week 16.

Patriots | Danny Amendola ties season high in targets

Mon, 11 Dec 2017 22:25:24 -0800

New England Patriots WR Danny Amendola logged team highs in catches (six), targets (nine) and receiving yards (76) in the team's Week 14 loss Monday, Dec. 11, against the Miami Dolphins.

Fantasy Tip: This was Amendola's best game in a few weeks, and it was almost even better had he not been one yard short of a touchdown late in the ballgame. This was also encouraging for the former Ram, as he still garnered a lot of looks despite Chris Hogan returning from injury. However, don't put too much stock into this one, as owners need to remember Rob Gronkowski was sidelined with a one-game suspension and will be back next week.

Patriots | Danny Amendola to step up in Week 14?

Fri, 08 Dec 2017 19:39:57 -0800

New England Patriots WR Danny Amendola could pick up the slack with TE Rob Gronkowski suspended for the Week 14 game against the Miami Dolphins, according to Jeff Howe of the Boston Herald. When Gronkowski was sidelined in Week 5, Amendola finished with eight catches for 77 yards on a season-high 55 snaps.

Fantasy Tip: Amendola should see an uptick in snaps with Gronkowski sidelined, but he is far from a lock to replicate his Week 5 numbers. If you are going to gamble on him in Week 14, it should probably be in DFS formats.

Patriots | Two grabs for Danny Amendola

Sun, 03 Dec 2017 14:02:38 -0800

New England Patriots WR Danny Amendola posted two receptions for 34 yards on four targets in Week 13 against the Buffalo Bills.

Fantasy Tip: Amendola didn't help anyone in fantasy on this one, especially those who used him in PPR formats. He should be treated more as a WR4 heading into Week 14 against the Miami Dolphins on Monday night.

Patriots | Danny Amendola limited again

Thu, 30 Nov 2017 13:28:41 -0800

New England Patriots WR Danny Amendola (knee) was limited in practice Thursday, Nov. 30.

Fantasy Tip: Amendola was hardly involved in the offense last week, but he does provide value with Chris Hogan looking unlikely to play. Brandin Cooks and Rob Gronkowski limit Amendola's targets, so start him as a WR3 or flex.

Patriots | Danny Amendola limited in practice

Wed, 29 Nov 2017 13:58:24 -0800

New England Patriots WR Danny Amendola (knee) was listed as a limited participant in practice Wednesday, Nov. 29.

Fantasy Tip: Amendola has been limited in mid-week practices for a while now, but he has been able to fight through his nagging knee injury to play. While he laid an egg last week against Miami with just one catch, generally he is a solid WR3 or flex option in most PPR leagues when active. He has lesser appeal in standard formats.

Patriots | Danny Amendola quiet in victory

Sun, 26 Nov 2017 17:05:26 -0800

New England Patriots WR Danny Amendola posted just one reception for 15 yards in the Week 12 game against the Miami Dolphins.

Fantasy Tip: Amendola was targeted four times, but he managed just one grab. That's simply not going to do. He is a stud for fantasy owners in PPR leagues normally, but perhaps it's his nagging knee injury that is hampering him and keeping him from doing what fantasy owners are used to. Right now he should only be trusted in deeper leagues.

Patriots | Danny Amendola in uniform

Sun, 26 Nov 2017 08:55:52 -0800

New England Patriots WR Danny Amendola (knee) is officially active for the team's Week 12 game.

Fantasy Tip: Amendola should continue to be the slot receiver for the Patriots and will see a handful of targets during the game. He could be a flex option in deeper point-per-reception leagues but can be avoided in most standard leagues.

Sun, 26 Nov 2017 05:53:02 -0800

New England Patriots WR Danny Amendola (knee) is expected to play in Week 12's game against the Miami Dolphins.

Fantasy Tip: Amendola was listed as questionable on the injury report but was a limited practice participant throughout the week. He should be viewed as a viable option in PPR fantasy formats.

Fri, 24 Nov 2017 13:39:46 -0800

New England Patriots WR Danny Amendola (knee) was limited during practice Friday, Nov. 24, and is listed as questionable for Week 12.

Fantasy Tip: Amendola should be on the field this week despite the questionable tag and probably will receive a decent amount of targets during the game. He can be considered a flex option in point-per-reception leagues.

Patriots | Danny Amendola listed as limited

Thu, 23 Nov 2017 13:30:21 -0800

New England Patriots WR Danny Amendola (knee) was limited during practice Thursday, Nov. 23.

Fantasy Tip: Amendola should be in uniform against the Miami Dolphins as long as he does not suffer a setback. He is coming off a terrific Week 11 performance and should receive a solid amount of targets against the Dolphins. Amendola should be at least a flex option in point-per-reception leagues.

Patriots | Danny Amendola still banged up

Wed, 22 Nov 2017 13:33:13 -0800

New England Patriots WR Danny Amendola (knee) was listed as a limited participant in practice Wednesday, Nov. 22.

Fantasy Tip: Amendola has been battling an injury for a while, but the nagging knee injury hasn't kept him off the field. He is coming off his most productive fantasy performance of the season, posting eight grabs with 66 yards and a touchdown against the Raiders down in Mexico City. He did leave that game briefly due to dehydration, but he is fine and will be a nice play down the stretch for all fantasy owners, particularly those in PPR.

Sun, 19 Nov 2017 12:27:57 -0800

New England Patriots WR Danny Amendola (knee) is officially active for the team's Week 11 game.

Fri, 17 Nov 2017 14:21:53 -0800

New England Patriots WR Danny Amendola (knee) practiced on a limited basis Friday, Nov. 17, and is questionable for Week 11 against the Oakland Raiders.

Fantasy Tip: Amendola should be a decent WR4 or flex play, particularly in PPR formats, as he'll suck up targets with Chris Hogan (shoulder) once again sidelined.

Patriots | Another limited practice for Danny Amendola

Thu, 16 Nov 2017 16:45:24 -0800

New England Patriots WR Danny Amendola (knee) was limited in practice for the second straight day Thursday, Nov. 16.

Fantasy Tip: The appeal with rolling with Amendola is that Chris Hogan is likely to be inactive again, but in that same scenario last week, the former Ram only managed four catches on four targets for 36 yards against the Broncos. He'll have a considerably easier matchup opposite the Raiders in Week 11, but he remains a risky play regardless. Amendola is better suited for PPR formats.

Patriots | Danny Amendola listed as limited

Wed, 15 Nov 2017 16:52:07 -0800

New England Patriots WR Danny Amendola (knee) was limited during practice Wednesday, Nov. 15.

Fantasy Tip: Amendola should be in uniform this week and may see more targets with Chris Hogan not expected to play. He has been held to under 40 yards in each of the last four games but can still be a valuable option in point-per-reception leagues.

Sun, 12 Nov 2017 05:23:48 -0800

New England Patriots WR Danny Amendola (knee) is expected to play in Week 10's game against the Denver Broncos.

Fantasy Tip: Amendola was a limited practice participant throughout the week and was listed as questionable on the injury report. He is likely to see an expanded role in the offense due to WR Chris Hogan (shoulder) being ruled out and should be viewed as a solid WR3 this week, particularly in PPR fantasy formats.

Patriots | Danny Amendola questionable for SNF

Fri, 10 Nov 2017 14:06:30 -0800

New England Patriots WR Danny Amendola (knee) was a limited participant in practice Friday, Nov. 10. He is officially listed as questionable for Week 10 against the Denver Broncos.

Fantasy Tip: It sounds like the team is expecting him to serve in a big role on Sunday night, so perhaps he was limited more for preservation purposes. The team needs someone to step up with Chris Hogan sidelined with a shoulder injury, and it appears Amendola will absorb most of Hogan's targets. Amendola is a solid WR3 in most fantasy formats this week, especially PPR, while Phillip Dorsett should also see a larger role and is a sleeper streaming option.

Patriots | Danny Amendola primed for bigger role?

Fri, 10 Nov 2017 09:09:45 -0800

New England Patriots WR Danny Amendola should "receive the biggest boost in targets and receptions" while Chris Hogan (shoulder) sits out due to a shoulder injury, according to NESN's Doug Kyed.

Fantasy Tip: Amendola used the Week 9 bye to take care of a knee injury and has played about half the team's snaps in all but one game this season. While he is set up to take on a bigger role, the Denver Broncos in Week 10 present a very difficult matchup for him, and there is no guarantee Hogan won't return in Week 11 or shortly thereafter. Barring a complete lack of other good options on your roster, Amendola should remain on fantasy benches this weekend.

Patriots | Danny Amendola has another limited practice

Thu, 09 Nov 2017 15:24:29 -0800

New England Patriots WR Danny Amendola (knee) was a limited participant in practice for the second straight day Thursday, Nov. 9.

Fantasy Tip: Amendola could be headed to a more significant role on Sunday night with Chris Hogan (shoulder) likely out. However, he has to prove he's healthy enough to suit up first, and even then, it won't be an easy task going up against Denver's stingy secondary. If Amendola is out along with Hogan, Phillip Dorsett would be an interesting sleeper play.

Patriots | Limited practice for Danny Amendola

Wed, 08 Nov 2017 14:50:41 -0800

New England Patriots WR Danny Amendola (knee) was limited in practice Wednesday, Nov. 8.

Fantasy Tip: Amendola has hit somewhat of a wall after a decent start to the season, averaging only 24.6 yards per game over his last three games. That being said, Amendola can still be started as a flex if Chris Hogan does not play this week.

Sun, 29 Oct 2017 08:58:13 -0700

Updating a previous report, New England Patriots WR Danny Amendola (knee) is active for Week 8's game against the Los Angeles Chargers.

Fantasy Tip: Amendola has reached the end zone just once this season and has been held to fewer than 50 receiving yards in four of his last five contests. He's not worthy of consideration as anything more than a flex option in PPR formats.

Sun, 29 Oct 2017 05:30:55 -0700

New England Patriots WR Danny Amendola (knee) is officially considered a "game-time decision" for Week 8's game against the Los Angeles Chargers.

Patriots | Danny Amendola gets in limited practice

Thu, 26 Oct 2017 16:31:27 -0700

New England Patriots WR Danny Amendola (knee) was a limited participant in practice Thursday, Oct. 26.

Fantasy Tip: Amendola missed practice on Wednesday, so this is encouraging regarding his status for Sunday. He still may end up being a game-time call, but fortunately, his game will be taking place during the early slate. If Amendola is able to suit up, the former Ram will be a decent WR3 option, as the Patriots have averaged more than 30 points per game at home with Tom Brady under center over the last five seasons. There's a good shot they live up to that.

Patriots | Danny Amendola has hyperextended knee

Thu, 26 Oct 2017 14:56:37 -0700

New England Patriots WR Danny Amendola (knee) was limited in practice Thursday, Oct. 26, as he deals with a hyperextended knee. The Boston Herald's Jeff Howe said the injury isn't a "major ordeal," but the Patriots could still sit him this week to give him an extra week of rest before their bye in Week 9. Amendola is considered day-to-day.

Fantasy Tip: The injury bug has bitten Amendola again. It makes sense that the Patriots would sit Amendola this week before their bye, but his status will need to be monitored heading into the weekend. If he can't go then Rob Gronkwoski, Brandin Cooks, Chris Hogan and James White will demand almost all of Tom Brady's targets. The above four players should all be started, for the record.

Patriots | Danny Amendola sits out Wednesday

Wed, 25 Oct 2017 15:59:48 -0700

New England Patriots WR Danny Amendola (knee) did not participate in practice Wednesday, Oct. 25.

Fantasy Tip: Owners will have to check later in the week to see if Amendola is in any danger of missing Week 8. He has recorded only 57 yards over the last two games but still has solid role in the team's passing game. Amendola can be a flex option point-per-reception leagues.

Sun, 15 Oct 2017 13:49:58 -0700

New England Patriots WR Danny Amendola caught three passes for 40 yards against the New York Jets in Week 6.

Fantasy Tip: Amendola has been a solid target for the Patriots this season but posted a season low in yards this week. He will continue to see a solid amount of targets and can be at least a flex option in point-per-reception leagues.

Thu, 05 Oct 2017 22:07:16 -0700

New England Patriots WR Danny Amendola registered eight receptions for 77 yards during the team's Week 5 game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Fantasy Tip: As usual, Amendola worked short and averaged just 9.6 yards per catch. The 31-year-old is never going to stretch the field, but Tom Brady trusts him to be in right spot on crucial downs. He's a steady flex option in point-per-reception leagues.
