Sun, 15 Oct 2017 13:49:58 -0700

New England Patriots WR Danny Amendola caught three passes for 40 yards against the New York Jets in Week 6.

Patriots | Danny Amendola logs eight grabs

Thu, 05 Oct 2017 22:07:16 -0700

New England Patriots WR Danny Amendola registered eight receptions for 77 yards during the team's Week 5 game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Fantasy Tip: As usual, Amendola worked short and averaged just 9.6 yards per catch. The 31-year-old is never going to stretch the field, but Tom Brady trusts him to be in right spot on crucial downs. He's a steady flex option in point-per-reception leagues.

New England Patriots WR Danny Amendola (knee) was limited during practice Thursday, Sept. 28.

Sun, 24 Sep 2017 15:05:13 -0700

New England Patriots WR Danny Amendola caught three passes for 48 yards against the Houston Texans in Week 3.

Fantasy Tip: Amendola's targets likely will change depending on the opponent but should be involved in the passing game as the slot receiver. He can be a flex option in point-per-reception leagues next week against the Carolina Panthers.

Patriots | Danny Amendola likely to play

Sun, 24 Sep 2017 07:17:38 -0700

New England Patriots WR Danny Amendola (concussion) is expected to play in Week 3's game against the Houston Texans.

Fantasy Tip: Amendola was a limited practice participant throughout the week and was listed as questionable on the injury report. He should be a solid WR3 or flex option in most fantasy formats, although it wouldn't be surprising if the Patriots attempt to limit his snaps in his first game since the season opener.

Patriots | Danny Amendola listed as questionable

Fri, 22 Sep 2017 14:23:04 -0700

Updating a previous report, New England Patriots WR Danny Amendola (concussion, knee) was limited in practice Friday, Sept. 22, and he is considered questionable for Week 3 against the Houston Texans.

Fantasy Tip: The veteran proclaimed himself "good to go" earlier in the day, so the injury report designation looks to be a formality. He opened with 100 receiving yards in Week 1 and could be a valuable fantasy asset if he can stay on the field.

Patriots | Danny Amendola ready for Week 3

Fri, 22 Sep 2017 10:59:57 -0700

New England Patriots WR Danny Amendola (knee, concussion) proclaimed himself "good to go" for Week 3 versus the Houston Texans.

Fantasy Tip: While an in-game injury is always a risk for someone like Amendola, the primary slot option in the New England offense is always a good bet for a huge PPR day. Even though the Patriots figure to limit his snaps, he should remain a solid WR3 option in most leagues.

Patriots | Danny Amendola a limited participant

Thu, 21 Sep 2017 13:32:08 -0700

New England Patriots WR Danny Amendola (concussion, knee) was limited during practice Thursday, Sept. 21.

Fantasy Tip: Amendola will need to pass all of his concussion tests before he is cleared, so he may be a game-time decision. Amendola will have a solid role in the passing game when he returns, but owners may want to use other options this week.

Patriots | Danny Amendola able to practice

Wed, 20 Sep 2017 14:56:38 -0700

New England Patriots WR Danny Amendola (concussion, knee) was able to take part in a limited practice on Wednesday, Sept. 20.

Fantasy Tip: Amendola's status for Week 3 is uncertain at the moment, but itís a good sign he was able to get out onto the practice field even on a limited basis. He was out in Week 2, but had six grabs for 100 yards in the season opener.

Patriots | Key Patriots practice Wednesday

Wed, 20 Sep 2017 10:36:24 -0700

New England Patriots TE Rob Gronkowski (groin) and WR Danny Amendola (knee, concussion) were among a group of injured players who were able to practice Wednesday, Sept. 20.

Fantasy Tip: Owners of Gronkowski and Amendola have to be encouraged by this news, as the Patriots would have likely held out both players if there was any concern about setbacks and/or their status for Week 3. For now, it appears both are on the right track to start Week 3 against the Houston Texans. Don't hesitate to start either player, so long as both make it through the week without any further issues.

Patriots | Danny Amendola will not play

Fri, 15 Sep 2017 14:15:28 -0700

Updating a previous report, New England Patriots WR Danny Amendola (concussion, knee) did not participate in practice Friday, Sept. 15, and has been ruled out for Week 2.

Fantasy Tip: Phillip Dorsett likely will serve as the No. 3 receiver for the Patriots this week but may not have a big role in the passing game. Owners should be able to find other receivers to use in their lineups. James White, Rex Burkhead and Dion Lewis may be more involved in the passing game and could be flex options in some leagues.

Patriots | No practice for Danny Amendola on Friday

Fri, 15 Sep 2017 09:33:53 -0700

New England Patriots WR Danny Amendola (concussion, knee) was absent from practice Friday, Sept. 15.

Fantasy Tip: The Boston Herald's Jeff Howe notes it has been at least nine years since a Patriot played after missing a full week of practice, pretty much confirming Amendola will sit in Week 2 against the New Orleans Saints. Brandin Cooks and Chris Hogan figure to see more time in the slot as a result, while James White, Rex Burkhead and possibly even Dion Lewis should see more work in the passing game in what figures to be a bit of a shootout with the Saints.

Patriots | No practice for Danny Amendola

Thu, 14 Sep 2017 10:35:32 -0700

New England Patriots WR Danny Amendola (concussion, knee) remained out of practice Thursday, Sept. 14.

Fantasy Tip: It's looking like a longshot for Amendola to play this week after missing back-to-back practices. Brandin Cooks and Chris Hogan are both great plays, though, especially Cooks in what will be a revenge game on the road against the New Orleans Saints. Look for both receivers to make nice rebounds after a rocky start to the season.

Patriots | Danny Amendola also has a knee injury

Wed, 13 Sep 2017 21:47:57 -0700

New England Patriots WR Danny Amendola (concussion, knee) has also been diagnosed with a knee injury, in addition to the concussion that he sustained in the team's Week 1 game Sunday, Sept. 17, against the Kansas City Chiefs.

Fantasy Tip: As already reported, Amendola predictably missed practice on Wednesday, and this newfound knee injury makes it even more unlikely that he suits up in Week 2. It's a tough blow for owners who scored a real bargain by drafting the former Ram in the latter rounds, after how impressive he was filling in for injured WR Julian Edelman (knee) in the opener. Those who are desperate at wide receiver and in deep formats might want to give Phillip Dorsett a look, as New England's next affair is a probable shootout in New Orleans.

Patriots | Danny Amendola misses Wednesday practice

Wed, 13 Sep 2017 09:36:25 -0700

New England Patriots WR Danny Amendola (concussion) did not participate in practice Wednesday, Sept. 13.

Fantasy Tip: Amendola has suffered multiple documented concussions throughout his career, so this news - or the likelihood he does not play Week 2 - should not come as a surprise. Already expected to be a part-time player despite the season-ending injury to Julian Edelman, this latest head injury may cement that status despite his solid play in Week 1. Expect Chris Hogan and Brandin cooks to see more time in the slot moving forward.

Patriots | Danny Amendola out with head injury

Thu, 07 Sep 2017 20:51:03 -0700

New England Patriots WR Danny Amendola (head) will not return against the Kansas City Chiefs Thursday, Sept. 7, and is being evaluated for a concussion.

Fantasy Tip: It didn't take long for the oft-injured receiver to suffer another injury. To rub salt in the wound, he was having a great game before he went down, catching six passes for 100 yards. If Amendola misses more time, Chris Hogan would have WR3 potential.

Patriots | Danny Amendola's snaps to be managed

Mon, 04 Sep 2017 22:06:40 -0700

New England Patriots WR Danny Amendola's snap count for the upcoming season is "expected to be managed with long-term preservation" in mind, according to Mike Reiss of ESPN.com.

Fantasy Tip: That's not exactly what owners of Amendola want to hear, especially those who expect the former Ram to fully help fill the void left in the absence of Julian Edelman's injury. However, it's probably not as bad as it sounds, as Amendola should still manage to provide enough production on a weekly basis to at least keep him relevant enough in the deeper formats. He'll enter the new campaign with WR3 potential.

Patriots | Danny Amendola is as healthy as ever

Mon, 28 Aug 2017 21:54:43 -0700

New England Patriots WR Danny Amendola said he feels "as good as I've ever felt" and mentioned that he's "healthy and ready to go."

Fantasy Tip: Brandin Cooks obviously has the highest ceiling within New England's receiving corps but it may be Danny Amendola who benefits the most from Julian Edelman's unfortunate season-ending injury. With WR3/FLEX potential, and a ceiling that could potentially solidify him as a legit WR2, Amendola should be drafted in all leagues and may be worth reaching for. Edelman's whopping 158 targets from a year ago are out there for the taking.

Patriots | Danny Amendola in fight for last WR spot

Sun, 28 May 2017 10:45:31 -0700

New England Patriots WR Danny Amendola is expected to battle Andrew Hawkins for the sixth and likely final receiver spot in camp, according to ESPN's Mike Reiss.

Fantasy Tip: Brandin Cooks, Julian Edelman, Chris Hogan and Malcolm Mitchell aren't going anywhere, while Matthew Slater's Pro Bowl-caliber work on special teams pretty much makes him a lock. Amendola holds the edge because he is a known quantity in New England, but his injury history give Hawkins a legitimate chance to stick. Neither player figures to be worth much in fantasy, however.

Tue, 18 Apr 2017 11:11:02 -0700

Patriots | Danny Amendola open to pay cut

Mon, 20 Feb 2017 06:09:12 -0800

New England Patriots WR Danny Amendola is receptive to a pay cut in order to stay with the team.

Fantasy Tip: Amendola is too spotty of a player to rely on in fantasy. He'll have huge weeks on occasion, but the 31-year-old doesn't contribute consistently enough for a WR5 flyer.

Patriots | Danny Amendola will need to take pay cut

Sun, 12 Feb 2017 10:18:51 -0800

New England Patriots WR Danny Amendola is due $6 million in base salary in 2017, but it is a "certainty" he will not be returning under the turn of his current contract, according to ESPN.com's Mike Reiss.

Fantasy Tip: Amendola keeps producing in big games and the team obviously trusts him in those spots (eight catches for 78 yards, a touchdown and a game-tying two-point conversion in Super Bowl LI), but he is the No. 4 receiver on the team behind Julian Edelman, Chris Hogan and Malcolm Mitchell. As a result, he'll probably need to take another sizable pay cut like he has each of the last two years in order to remain in Foxboro. He can be ignored in most fantasy leagues.

Patriots | Danny Amendola off injury report

Wed, 01 Feb 2017 16:23:48 -0800

New England Patriots WR Danny Amendola (ankle) has been removed from the injury report for Super Bowl LI.

Fantasy Tip: Amendola has been targeted only four times in the last two playoff games and probably will see limited targets again during Super Bowl LI. He is not a strong fantasy option this week and probably can be avoided in fantasy drafts in 2017.

Patriots | Danny Amendola limited

Fri, 27 Jan 2017 13:45:29 -0800

New England Patriots WR Danny Amendola (ankle) was limited during practice Friday, Jan. 27.

Fantasy Tip: Amendola has been limited during practice over the last few weeks but has been able to play. He has been targeted four times during the playoffs and has two catches for 12 yards during those games. Owners in all leagues should avoid him for the rest of this season. He probably will be the No. 4 receiver if he returns to the Patriots in 2017 and can be passed over in fantasy drafts.

Patriots | Limited practice for Danny Amendola

Thu, 26 Jan 2017 14:11:37 -0800

New England Patriots WR Danny Amendola (ankle) was limited in practice Thursday, Jan. 26.

Fantasy Tip: Amendola did next to nothing in the regular season. The same can be said for the playoffs. Julian Edelman, Chris Hogan, Dion Lewis and LeGarrette Blount have been New England's biggest playmakers on offense. Amendola can continue to be ignored.

Patriots | Danny Amendola limited

Wed, 25 Jan 2017 13:37:56 -0800

New England Patriots WR Danny Amendola (ankle) was limited during practice Wednesday, Jan. 25.

Fantasy Tip: Amendola has received limited work so far this postseason and has posted two catches for 12 yards in two postseason games. He should be able to play in Super Bowl LI but will not be a great fantasy option because of his limited targets.

Patriots | Danny Amendola questionable

Fri, 20 Jan 2017 14:40:37 -0800

New England Patriots WR Danny Amendola (ankle) was limited during practice Friday, Jan. 20, and is listed as questionable for the AFC Championship game.

Fantasy Tip: Amendola appears to have a solid chance to play against the Pittsburgh Steelers, but owners can check on his status closer to game time. He should see a decent amount of targets during the game and can be a No. 3 receiver or a flex option for owners.

Patriots | Danny Amendola limited again Thursday

Thu, 19 Jan 2017 17:46:14 -0800

New England Patriots WR Danny Amendola (ankle) was a limited participant at practice for the second consecutive day Thursday, Jan. 19.

Fantasy Tip: Amendola was actually active last week for the first time since Week 13, but made no impact, as he was held without a catch on two targets. That being said, it's hard to recommend the veteran wide-out for any DFS lineups, at least until he's fully healthy and more featured again.

New England Patriots WR Danny Amendola (ankle) was limited during practice Wednesday, Jan. 18.

Fantasy Tip: Amendola was active for the Divisional round playoff game but was held without a catch on two targets. He could be more involved in the passing game in the AFC Championship game but probably should be avoided in all fantasy leagues.

New England Patriots WR Danny Amendola (ankle) fully participated in practice Friday, Jan. 13, and is not on the injury report for the Divisional round playoff game against the Houston Texans.

Fantasy Tip: Amendola likely will return to the lineup after missing a month because of his ankle injury. He probably will receive a limited amount of targets if he plays and probably should be passed over in fantasy leagues.

Patriots | Danny Amendola has full practice

Thu, 12 Jan 2017 14:23:45 -0800

New England Patriots WR Danny Amendola (ankle) was a full participant in practice Thursday, Jan. 12.

Fantasy Tip: Amendola hasn't played in more than a month, so there could be some rust here. He may be looked to more than expected, though, if Malcolm Mitchell is inactive or limited at all. Still, Amendola is a high-risk, medium-reward player at best this week.

Patriots | Danny Amendola practices

Wed, 04 Jan 2017 11:52:13 -0800

New England Patriots WR Danny Amendola (ankle) participated in practice Wednesday, Jan. 4.

Fantasy Tip: Amendola has missed about a month because of his ankle injury but appears to have a decent chance to play in the Divisional round playoff game. Amendola's role in the offense is uncertain at this point, so owners should keep an eye on the situation. Owners in playoff fantasy leagues probably will be able to find better options to use.

New England Patriots WR Danny Amendola (ankle) will test his ankle on the practice field soon, according to a source. How his ankle responds will dictate his availability in the playoffs.

Fantasy Tip: If Amendola returns to health, he could figure into playoff DFS pools any given game. The Pats spread the ball around, and he'll be a risky flex option if he's cleared.
