Hendrick | Greg Ives to join team in 2015

Crew chief Greg Ives will rejoin Hendrick Motorsports next year to serve as the crew chief for driver Dale Earnhardt Jr. and the No. 88 car in the Sprint Cup Series. Ives was a race engineer for driver Jimmie Johnson during his run of five straight Cup championships from 2006 to 2010. Ives will work alongside Johnson's crew chief Chad Knaus.

Hendrick Motorsports driver Dale Earnhardt Jr. finished 10th at the Camping World RV Sales 301 at New Hampshire Motor Speedway this past weekend, and he clinched a spot in the 2014 Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup. However, he is still not satisfied with just finishing well. "We are going to have to come back here and run better than that to have a shot in the Chase. We will keep working. Tenth place I'm really disappointed, but I remember we used to like these," Earnhardt said.

Hendrick Motorsports drivers Jeff Gordon, Dale Earnhardt Jr., Kasey Kahne and Jimmie Johnson all finished in the top seven in the Sprint Cup race Sunday, June 22, at Sonoma Raceway. Gordon finished second, Earnhardt finished third, Kahne finished sixth and Johnson finished seventh.

JR Motorsports driver Dale Earnhardt Jr. finished third in the NASCAR Nationwide Series Ollie's Bargain Outlet 250 at Michigan International Speedway Saturday, June 14. It was Earnhardt's third Top 5 finish in four Nationwide starts this season.

Fantasy Tip: Earnhardt was getting a lay of the land for Sunday's Sprint Cup Series Quicken Loans 400. He has won twice in 29 career Sprint Cup Series starts in the Irish hills, posting Top 20 finishes 18 times. He is considered one of the favorites Sunday, and is a great fantasy choice.

Hendrick Motorsports drivers Jeff Gordon, Jimmie Johnson and Kasey Kahne each head to Kansas Speedway Saturday, May 10, with two career wins at the track. Dale Earnhardt Jr. is the only Hendrick driver without a win at Kansas, and he has an Average Finish of 15.9 in 15 career starts.

Fantasy Tip: If you're in a fantasy league which restricts the number of times you can use a driver, Dale Jr. might be best used another weekend. However, Gordon has been performing well lately, and Johnson is certainly due. Both are must-start fantasy options, and Kahne is a nice sleeper as well.

He has won five times, second-best among all active drivers, and he has 10 Top 5 finishes and 20 Top 20s with an Average Finish of 14.6, third-best among all active drivers.

Fantasy Tip: Earnhardt has been a fantasy stud on nearly every track type, but he is especially good on restrictor-plate runs. Remember, he won the Daytona 500 this season on an RP track, and he has led 775 laps all-time at 'Dega, second among all active drivers only to teammate Jeff Gordon.
