The Oakland Athletics have optioned SP Dan Straily to Class AAA Sacramento and placed RP Ryan Cook (forearm) on the 15-day disabled list. Oakland also called up RPs Fernando Rodriguez and Joe Savery.
Fantasy Tip: They'll have Straily work on a few things; he's worth holding in some deep games because of his talent, but he could be more hurtful dead weight in mixed leagues. Expect Drew Pomeranz to take over his spot in the rotation; he's a pickup everywhere outside of extremely shallow formats; he's shown signs of reviving his prospect hype and finally resides in an organization that'll help him succeed.

It's something I've been waiting for a while. I couldn't have asked for a better day for it being the first time throwing off the mounds to hitters."

He is out of options, but likely to start the season on the 15-day disabled list so the team can get him a handful of minor-league rehab appearances with Triple-A Sacramento.
