Saints | Tim Hightower hones in on No. 2 job

Tue, 23 Aug 2016 19:52:31 -0700

New Orleans Saints RB Tim Hightower is expected to serve as the team's primary backup to RB Mark Ingram, as none of the other reserve tailbacks have flashed or helped themselves in training camp and the preseason.

Fantasy Tip: Hightower made a miraculous comeback last season, returning to fantasy relevance. However as long as Ingram is healthy Hightower's workload will be rather minimal, and therefore so will his fantasy appeal.

Saints | Tim Hightower the backup?

Sun, 17 Jul 2016 17:13:12 -0700

New Orleans Saints RB Tim Hightower is the best bet to serve as the primary backup for RB Mark Ingram, according to beat writer Nick Underhill.

Fantasy Tip: Given Ingram's injury issues, Hightower could easily end up starting a few games. Grab him in the later rounds, especially if you are an Ingram owner.

Saints | New Orleans backfield taking shape

Thu, 16 Jun 2016 16:45:13 -0700

New Orleans Saints RB Mark Ingram is the lead running back for the Saints, while RB Tim Hightower appears to be the backup, according to Larry Holder of The New Orleans Times-Picayune. RB C.J. Spiller holds the No. 3 spot.

Fantasy Tip: Hightower proved his worth later on last season in New Orleans when Ingram was sidelined. Ingram is still an RB1 when healthy, though. Spiller is a mid-round option in PPR leagues, while Hightower is a late-round handcuff consideration for Ingram in standard formats.

Saints | Tim Hightower talking with Saints

Tue, 08 Mar 2016 07:58:23 -0800

New Orleans Saints impending free-agent RB Tim Hightower is negotiating a new deal with the Saints Tuesday, March 8.

Fantasy Tip: Hightower returned as the ghost of fantasy past with four really productive games to end the season. The Saints' backfield is a muddy situation with no clear-cut choice right now, and more will be known after the NFL Draft. For now, Hightower is in the low-end RB3 mix until someone emerges to change his stock.

Saints | Won't use franchise tag

Tue, 16 Feb 2016 09:53:44 -0800

The New Orleans Saints will not use their franchise tag this year. They don't have any premiere free agents that will require large deals. TE Benjamin Watson, RB Tim Hightower and S Rafael Bush may be priorities to re-sign. New Orleans may end up spending more to keep restricted free-agent RB Khiry Robinson and OG Tim Lelito.

New Orleans Saints RB Tim Hightower carried 13 times for 54 yards in the Week 15 game against the Detroit Lions Monday, Dec. 21. He also hauled in three receptions for 31 yards on four targets.

Fantasy Tip: Hightower is best used as a low-end RB2 or flex option in FantasyScore, as it appears he will continue to see the majority of the tailback touches down the stretch.

Saints | Tim Hightower shoulders the load

Sun, 13 Dec 2015 17:16:48 -0800

New Orleans Saints RB Tim Hightower carried the ball 28 times for 85 yards and a touchdown and added one catch for 10 yards in a 24-17 win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 14.

Fantasy Tip: It looks safe to say that Hightower is going to be the main beneficiary of Mark Ingram's season-ending injury. He could post another solid line against the Detroit Lions in Week 15.
