Dallas Cowboys QB Tony Romo (back) is ahead of schedule in his recovery from back surgery last December, according to team owner Jerry Jones. "He is ahead of expectations," Jones said. "He is ahead of where we expected him to be."

Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said the team is not rebuilding, and that team's don't rebuild when you have QB Tony Romo. "Not at all. You don't rebuild with Romo," Jones said at the NFL's owners meetings. "The firepower we have on offense and where we are with our running backs, and our receivers -- you don't rebuild with an offense that's got the capability we've got.
"We didn't bring [Scott] Linehan in here to rebuild."

Dallas Cowboys owner and general manager Jerry Jones said Monday, Feb. 24, that DE DeMarcus Ware is not guaranteed to return to the team for the 2014 season. Ware will have a salary cap charge of $16 million.
"There's no question when you are where we are on the cap, even though we've had some new cap space added, and you have a defensive player that's your highest paid defensive player, and he hasn't been on the field much the last two years, that has to be considered," Jones said. "You can't have it all."

Despite winning Super Bowls in 1992 and 1993 under his handpicked head coach, Jimmy Johnson, Dallas Cowboys owner/general manager Jerry Jones said he regrets immediately firing legendary Cowboys head coach Tom Landry after Jones purchased the team 25 years ago. Then-Cowboys owner H.R. Bum Bright offered to fire Landry before Jones took over, but Jones insisted he would be the one and wanted to look Landry in the eyes.
"If I had a chance to do it over again I would've waited a year and just got my feet on the ground a little bit more and probably just gone with the staff that we had and then later made the ultimate change that I made," Jones said.

Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones is in favor of London getting a team. "I think that's very possible," Jones said. "Yes, I'm very much for it. I think there's a good chance and these games will be a good indication of the kind of support we can have there. And London is one of the few cities outside of the United States that would be a great city internationally for the NFL."

Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones reiterated his support for coach Jason Garrett following the team's 24-22 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday, Dec. 29, saying Garrett's job is safe despite three straight 8-8 finishes. Although there won't be any changes at head coach, defensive coordinator Monte Kiffin is not guaranteed to return. And the owner won't be making any changes with the general manager. Jones said he will remain in charge as owner/general manager and remains committed to getting the Cowboys back in the playoffs.
