Eagles | Playoffs may have changed Chip Kelly's mind

Thu, 17 Jan 2013 07:59:58 -0800

Philadelphia Eagles head coach Chip Kelly may have changed his mind about coaching at the pro level after watching Seattle Seahawks QB Russell Wilson and San Francisco 49ers QB Colin Kaepernick perform in the divisional round playoffs last weekend, according to former NFL head coach Tony Dungy. "Could it be that Chip Kelly watched the playoffs and watched Russell Wilson run a little bit of his read option in the spread offense, and watched Colin Kaepernick run a little bit more of it?" Dungy said. Dungy added he believes Kelly watched the playoffs thinking, "My offense is way farther advanced than that, and maybe if this is going through the NFL, it might not be so tough."

"If it gets to the point to where, hey, he comes back and it looks like he's gonna play three or four more years, and you say - we've got Andrew Luck, we've got an asset - we trade him (indicating Manning)."
