Raiders | Michael Crabtree flashes in opener

Sun, 11 Sep 2016 19:26:38 -0700

Oakland Raiders WR Michael Crabtree had a team-high seven receptions for 87 yards in the Week 1 game against the New Orleans Saints. He also had the key game-winning two-point conversion reception late in the fourth quarter.

Fantasy Tip: Crabtree was targeted nine times and looked like a solid low-end WR2 for most fantasy owners. This was a very favorable matchup against a poor Saints secondary. The Raiders face another favorable matchup in Week 2 with a visit from the Atlanta Falcons, a team that allowed four passing touchdowns in Week 1.

Raiders | Michael Crabtree coming off comeback year

Tue, 19 Jan 2016 17:28:57 -0800

Oakland Raiders WR Michael Crabtree was targeted a career high 146 times in 2015, while tying a career high in catches (85) and touchdowns (9). His 922 receiving yards were the second most of his career for a single season.

Fantasy Tip: Last season was supposed to be star rookie receiver Amari Cooper's for the taking. Crabtree really flew under the radar throughout the season, and actually outperformed Cooper from a fantasy perspective. The key again for Crabtree next season will be to stay healthy, which he has done the last two years. If he can do that, he could end up as WR2 again, with added value in PPR leagues.

Sun, 03 Jan 2016 21:23:08 -0800

Oakland Raiders WR Michael Crabtree posted three receptions for 34 yards and a touchdown in the Week 17 game against the Kansas City Chiefs. He was targeted seven times.

Fantasy Tip: Crabtree failed to hit the century mark in his final eight games after three 100-yard games in the first eight outings, hitting the wall a little bit. He still managed 922 receiving yards with nine touchdowns to re-emerge as a solid WR2/3 or flex option in most fantasy leagues.

Fantasy Tip: Crabtree finished with six grabs on 11 targets for 70 yards against the Packers. Keep a close eye on his status early this week and whether he'll need to pass through the league's concussion protocol.

Raiders | Michael Crabtree's matchup looking good

Fri, 18 Dec 2015 18:22:23 -0800

Oakland Raiders WR Michael Crabtree faces the Green Bay Packers in Week 15, and the Packers will be starting two rookies at cornerback with CB Sam Shields (concussion) ruled out for the game.

Fantasy Tip: Crabtree ($6,300, 12.6% of cap) has been quiet in recent weeks with the Raiders facing some strong defenses, but with Amari Cooper ($6,000, 12.0% of cap) playing through a foot injury, Crabtree could be the main beneficiary of Green Bay's banged-up secondary.

Raiders | Michael Crabtree quiet in victory

Sun, 13 Dec 2015 22:20:44 -0800

Oakland Raiders WR Michael Crabtree posted four receptions for just 19 yards in the Week 14 game against the Denver Broncos.

Fantasy Tip: Crabtree has tailed off in the past five weeks, in terms of yardage, going for 55 or fewer yards, including 20 or less in two of the past three. He is still worth a look as a WR3 or flex FantasyScore play in Week 15 against Green Bay, as two of his three 100-yard games have come at home.

Wed, 09 Dec 2015 16:16:02 -0800

Oakland Raiders WR Michael Crabtree and the Raiders agreed to a contract extension Wednesday, Dec. 9. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Fantasy Tip: Crabtree ($6,300, 12.6% of cap) has been incredibly consistent this year, resulting in one of the best seasons of his career, so the extension is deserved. If Crabtree can stay healthy, he could have a nice tenure in Oakland with Derek Carr at the helm and Amari Cooper opposite him.

Sun, 25 Oct 2015 19:42:18 -0700

Fantasy Tip: Crabtree ($4,500, 9.0% of cap) has posted four or more receptions in each of his six games, and 54 or more yards in each of his past three. He is a solid low-end WR2 or must-start WR3/flex play in FantasyScore at this price level.

Raiders | Michael Crabtree hasn't dropped a pass

Tue, 20 Oct 2015 16:47:38 -0700

Oakland Raiders WR Michael Crabtree hasn't dropped one of his 46 targets this year.

Fantasy Tip: Crabtree ($4,500, 9.0% of cap) has at least four catches in all five games this year but has only one touchdown to show for it. The San Diego Chargers, who he faces in Week 7, have allowed the second-fewest PPR fantasy points per game to wideouts (24.6), though, making Crabtree a tough sell on FantasyScore coming off the bye.

Raiders | Michael Crabtree's role growing?

Fri, 16 Oct 2015 20:27:49 -0700

Oakland Raiders WR Michael Crabtree was praised for his contributions on and off the field by offensive coordinator Bill Musgrave. "We just want to keep building his role in the offense," Musgrave said.

Fantasy Tip: Crabtree ($4,500, 9.0% of cap) has been targeted at least eight times in four of the five games thus far, but his two best games came against the struggling defenses of Baltimore and Chicago. With that in mind, he only needs to be considered at FantasyScore when the Raiders draw a friendly matchup.

Fantasy Tip: Crabtree ($4,500, 9.0% of cap) suffered the injury last week but appears to be ready to play against the Broncos. He has played well in the first few games of the season but will be facing a tough Broncos secondary. Crabtree could be a cheaper option for owners on FantasyScore but likely will not post big numbers during the game.

Oakland Raiders WR Michael Crabtree (ankle) fully participated in practice Thursday, Oct.8.

Fantasy Tip: Crabtree ($4,500, 9.0% of cap) appears to be on track to play in Week 5 against the Denver Broncos. He has caught at least five passes in three of the first four games of the season and is coming off an 80-yard performance in Week 4. He will be facing a tough Broncos defense but could be a cheaper option on FantasyScore.

Raiders | Michael Crabtree sits out

Wed, 07 Oct 2015 16:39:08 -0700

Oakland Raiders WR Michael Crabtree (ankle) did not participate in practice Wednesday, Oct. 7.

Fantasy Tip: Crabtree ($4,500, 9.0% of cap) suffered the injury during the last game, so owners will need to monitor the situation to see if he will be able to play in Week 5 against the Denver Broncos. Crabtree has played well this season but may not be the best option because he is dealing with a tough Broncos defense.

Updating a previous report, Oakland Raiders WR Michael Crabtree (ankle) returned to Week 4's game against the Chicago Bears in the second half, after he suffered an ankle injury during the first half.

Fantasy Tip: Obviously, Crabtree's ($4,600, 9.2% of cap) injury was not as serious as it initially appeared. He finished the game with five receptions for 80 yards and should be good to go for Week 5's contest against the Denver Broncos.

Raiders | Michael Crabtree suffers injury

Sun, 04 Oct 2015 10:51:46 -0700

Oakland Raiders WR Michael Crabtree (leg) suffered a right leg injury during the team's Week 4 game.

Fantasy Tip: Crabtree ($4,600, 9.2% of cap) may be dealing with a serious injury, so owners should look for an update on his status in the next day or two. Crabtree has posted some solid numbers but may be on the sidelines for the time being.

Raiders | Michael Crabtree targeted frequently

Sun, 27 Sep 2015 18:51:04 -0700

Oakland Raiders WR Michael Crabtree had just four receptions for 36 yards in the Week 3 game against the Cleveland Browns. He was targeted nine times.

Fantasy Tip: Crabtree ($4,600, 9.2% of cap) is clearly the second option behind Amari Cooper ($5,400, 10.8% of cap) in the Oakland offense, and Andre Holmes ($2,000, 4.0% of cap) and Seth Roberts ($2,000, 4.0% of cap) posted touchdowns. However, the team is trying to get Crabtree involved and he could be a nice lower-priced option in future weeks, especially if Cooper should ever have to miss time.

Oakland Raiders WR Michael Crabtree had nine catches on 16 targets for 111 yards and a touchdown in a 37-33 win over the Baltimore Ravens in Week 2.

Fantasy Tip: Crabtree ($3,600, 7.2% of cap) led the team in receptions, targets and yards Sunday, and he has now been targeted 24 times through the first two games. He appears to be a very key part of the offensive game plan, and he should be on the radar as a potential value play at FantasyScore.

Raiders | Derek Carr bonding with Michael Crabtree

Thu, 06 Aug 2015 17:27:12 -0700

Oakland Raiders QB Derek Carr is building on-field chemistry with WR Michael Crabtree, according to offensive coordinator Bill Musgrave. "He [Crabtree] and Derek [Carr] have definitely established a rapport in the short time they've been together. We love the fact that they're making plays in practice, because we want to play the same way in the game. They're working hard. They work hard together. I'm glad that Michael's part of our team," said Musgrave.

Fantasy Tip: Crabtree is certainly the most accomplished receiver in Oakland, and he should earn the starting job opposite rookie Amari Cooper. Crabtree is being drafted as a WR5, and he'll have upside to offer very late in drafts.

Raiders | Michael Crabtree showing off hands

Tue, 04 Aug 2015 15:29:26 -0700

Oakland Raiders WR Michael Crabtree could be playing himself into a new contract this season as he continues to impress his new team. Crabtree's hands have been his strong suit throughout his career, and he's displaying those hands again with the Raiders.

Fantasy Tip: Crabtree and WR Amari Cooper could make a formidable receiving duo in Oakland's new-look offense. It may take some time for Crabtree to adjust to his new team, but he's worth a look in WR4 or WR5 territory.

Raiders | Michael Crabtree stands out

Mon, 03 Aug 2015 06:44:51 -0700

Oakland Raiders WR Michael Crabtree has been the star of the team's first three days of training camp, according to San Francisco Chronicle writer Vic Tafur, who categorized the wide receiver position as a team strength.

Fantasy Tip: This is encouraging for Crabtree's fantasy forecast, but we all know injuries are a concern, and seeing him do it over a full slate has become akin to spotting a sasquatch. Consider Crabtree a risky WR3 or ideal WR4 target.

Raiders | Michael Crabtree adding leadership

Tue, 30 Jun 2015 18:32:48 -0700

Oakland Raiders WR Michael Crabtree received recognition from QB Derek Carr Tuesday, June 30, for his presence in the locker room. "He's such a great teammate. I love the guy. I talk to him all the time. We're always talking about the game. We're always talking ball. We're always talking routes, concepts, and what we're going to do during the game, and hand signals, all those things. He is a football junkie. He's been a nice guy, a nice addition to our team," said Carr.

Fantasy Tip: Crabtree fell off the face of the Earth last season, but he represents one of few Raiders' receiving threats with experience. While rookie Amari Cooper is the fantasy darling and the more talented receiver, Crabtree could be the better option in the early weeks of the season, until Cooper gets fully accustomed to the NFL.

Fri, 24 Apr 2015 16:30:59 -0700

Oakland Raiders WR Michael Crabtree said he has a chip on his shoulder since he did not receive a lot of interest in free agency and believes he has a lot to prove in 2015.

Fantasy Tip: Crabtree is coming off a season where he had 68 receptions, 698 yards and four touchdowns but was on the free-agent market for several weeks before joining the Raiders. Crabtree has a chance to start for the Raiders next season but is not worth more than a late-round pick in fantasy drafts.

Updating a previous report, the Oakland Raiders are giving free-agent WR Michael Crabtree (49ers) a one-year, $3 million deal with another $2 million in incentives, a source said Monday, April 13.

Fantasy Tip: Crabtree might be in line for a starting job with a strong training camp and preseason, as he battles Rod Streater and Andre Holmes, among others. Crabtree certainly has the most skills, but he also has a lengthy injury history, too.

Free-agent WR Michael Crabtree (49ers) is expected to sign with the Oakland Raiders as early as Monday, April 13.

Free-agent WR Michael Crabtree (49ers) is receiving interest from the Baltimore Ravens, according to a source. The Ravens are one of three teams showing the most interest in Crabtree.

Fantasy Tip: Crabtree has not received a ton of interest since free agency began but is starting to receive interest from teams. Crabtree probably would not be a starter if he signs with the Ravens but should have a solid role in the passing game. Crabtree likely will be a late-round pick in most drafts next season.

Free-agent WR Michael Crabtree (49ers) is looking for at least $4.5 million for next season, but the Miami Dolphins are only willing to offer around $3 million.

Fantasy Tip: Crabtree may have to wait a little longer if his asking price does not come down in the near future. Crabtree probably will not be able to find a starting job but could be a solid contributor for a team's passing game. He could be an option in later rounds of drafts as depth as the position.

Fantasy Tip: Crabtree is a dynamic playmaker when he's at full health. It remains to be seen where he'll end up before the start of the 2015 season, but he has WR2 potential in all scoring formats as long as he stays on the field.

49ers | Michael Crabtree in 49ers' plans?

Thu, 05 Mar 2015 19:39:41 -0800

San Francisco 49ers impending free-agent WR Michael Crabtree is a player that the team is interested in re-signing, but his future with the 49ers may depend on the interest he receives when he hits free agency.

Fantasy Tip: It remains to be seen where he will end up in 2015. However, Crabtree has managed just one 1,000-yard season in six years with the 49ers so fantasy owners shouldn't count on him to be a major contributor regardless of where he plays next year.

49ers | SF begins talks with Michael Crabtree

Thu, 19 Feb 2015 14:08:50 -0800

San Francisco 49ers impending free-agent WR Michael Crabtree and the team have begun contract talks, according to head coach Jim Tomsula. General manager Trent Baalke said Wednesday, Feb. 18, that it's a priority for the 49ers to re-sign their own talent.

Fantasy Tip: It looks like things are pointing up for Crabtree to return to San Francisco. He's coming off a hugely disappointing 2014 campaign after playing in just five games in 2013, but has at least WR2 potential when he's healthy.

San Francisco 49ers general manager Trent Baalke plans to meet with the agent for free-agent WR Michael Crabtree (49ers) at the NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis.

Fantasy Tip: Crabtree is one of several free agents on the 49ers. He had a bounce-back year with 698 yards and four touchdowns. Crabtree would be a decent WR3 option in fantasy leagues but could go up a bit depending on where he lands.

San Francisco 49ers impending free-agent WR Michael Crabtree was frustrated with his role at the end of last season, and he recently removed any mention of the 49ers from his Twitter bio. Some interpret that as a signal he is ready to move on to a new organization.

Fantasy Tip: Crabtree has a tremendous amount of talent, but he also has struggled to stay healthy over the years. Perhaps a change of scenery will transform him into the star he was supposed to be coming out of Texas Tech as a 10th overall pick

49ers | Franchise tag not realistic for Crabtree

Tue, 17 Feb 2015 10:20:37 -0800

San Francisco 49ers impending free-agent WR Michael Crabtree, who made $4 million last year, is unlikely to receive the franchise tag after his production was disappointing in 2014. The Niners are also unlikely to offer him a multi-year deal that surpasses that of WR Anquan Boldin's $6 million-a-year average.

Fantasy Tip: The good news is that Crabtree is more valuable in point-per-reception leagues, but the bad news is that his poor 2014 season will likely see many sour on him in 2015 fantasy football drafts. If he remains in SF, Colin Kaepernick's performance will depend on whether Crabtree can have a bounceback season and return value for his owners.

Thu, 25 Dec 2014 18:38:32 -0800

San Francisco 49ers WR Michael Crabtree (knee) was a full participant in practice for the second day in a row Thursday, Dec. 25.

Fantasy Tip: Crabtree may be healthy, but he isnít worth using at FantasyScore in Week 17. He has had less than 20 receiving yards in three of his last four games, including one catch for five yards last week.
