Cleveland Browns C Alex Mack (leg) will miss the rest of the season after undergoing surgery to fix a broken left fibula Thursday, Oct. 16. Mack was placed on the Reserve/Injured list Friday, Oct. 17. Mack could also be dealing with ligament damage in his left, although it hasn't officially been disclosed. OT John Greco will slide from right guard to center in Mack's absence, and the team promoted OG Ryan Seymour from the practice squad to take Mack's spot on the roster.

Cleveland Browns C Alex Mack (fibula) and DE Phil Taylor (knee) have been ruled out for Week 7. WR Rodney Smith (hamstring), CB K'Waun Williams (concussion) and DE Billy Winn (quadriceps) did not practice Thursday, Oct. 16. S Tashaun Gipson (thigh), LB Paul Kruger (back) and DT Ahtyba Rubin (ankle) were limited. DE Desmond Bryant (wrist), LB Barkevious Mingo (shoulder) and OT Joe Thomas (non-injury related) practiced fully.

Updating a previous report, Cleveland Browns C Alex Mack (leg) could return in eight to ten weeks if his injury is "only" a break, according to head coach Mike Pettine. It was previously reported that Mack would miss the remainder of the 2014 seaosn. Mack is expected to make a full recovery from the broken fibula he suffered in Week 6 against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Cleveland Browns C Alex Mack said there is no bad blood between him and the team after the team placed the transition tag on him, and he signed an offer sheet with the Jacksonville Jaguars. "It's been a long, hard road, but I'm here and I'm happy," Mack said. "I'm excited. I'm fired up. There's no bad blood. Now that it's done, I'm happy." Mack said he will report for the offseason workouts Monday, April 14.

Free-agent C Alex Mack (Browns) has signed his five-year, $42 million offer sheet from the Jacksonville Jaguars that includes $26 million in guarantees. He can void the final three years of the team with the promise that he won't be tagged again, and the contract also includes a no-trade clause. The Cleveland Browns now have five days to match the offer sheet.
