The Toronto Blue Jays are interested in trading for Chicago White Sox 2B Gordon Beckham. Left field and starting pitching are other areas of need heading into the offseason. Beckham is eligible for arbitration this winter and is under club control through the 2015 season. The Blue Jays also may try to pry SPs Hector Santiago or John Danks away from the White Sox in addition to Beckham. Toronto could have more than $20 million to spend this offseason. The White Sox are believed to be interested in Ps Aaron Sanchez or Marcus Stroman.

The Kansas City Royals have had discussions about trading for Chicago White Sox 2B Gordon Beckham, Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim 2B Howie Kendrick and Milwaukee Brewers 2B Rickie Weeks as they seek to upgrade second base. However, there's no indication that the Royals are close to any trade at this time. They have yet to rule out trading SP Ervin Santana. Weeks is owed $11 million next year and has an $11.5 million option in 2015, and the Royals will not want to take that money on. Kansas City has also looked at Philadelphia Phillies INF Kevin Frandsen.

Chicago White Sox 2B Gordon Beckham (wrist) is not in the lineup again Monday, July 22, and he's unsure if he can avoid the disabled list. He will rest for at least the next two days.
Fantasy Tip: If Beckham goes back on the DL, Jeff Keppinger can slide over to second base and Conor Gillaspie can play the hot corner. Aside from his injuries this year, Beckham has made some nice adjustments at the plate. He's worth stashing if he goes back on the DL in deep mixed leagues.

Chicago White Sox 2B Gordon Beckham (wrist) was out of the lineup Sunday, July 21, against the Atlanta Braves, and after the game he revealed he re-injured his surgically repaired left wrist Friday, July 19, during batting practice. Beckham played Friday and Saturday, July 20, with his wrist taped. He said it would be at least a couple of days before he can return.
Fantasy Tip: If you normally depend upon Beckham in AL-only fantasy leagues and deeper mixed formats, reserve him immediately. Jeff Keppinger made the start at second base Sunday. He and Conor Gillaspie should see regular at-bats until Beckham can return.
