White Sox | Gordon Beckham hitting seventh

Sat, 27 Jun 2015 10:09:57 -0700

Chicago White Sox 3B Gordon Beckham is batting seventh Saturday, June 27, against Detroit Tigers SP Kyle Ryan.

Fantasy Tip: Beckham ($2,300, 4.6% of cap) has just one hit in 19 at-bats against Detroit pitchers this season and is only hitting .219 overall. FantasyScore owners should be able to find better options.

White Sox | Alexei Ramirez grabs some pine

Thu, 25 Jun 2015 08:00:23 -0700

Chicago White Sox SS Alexei Ramirez is out of the lineup Thursday, June 25, in favor of 2B Gordon Beckham.

Fantasy Tip: Beckham ($2,300, 4.6% of cap) is next up in the revolving door that is the two-hole. His .227-4-16 line doesn't give much reason to use him on FantasyScore.

White Sox | Carlos Sanchez sitting out

Fri, 19 Jun 2015 14:25:18 -0700

Chicago White Sox 2B Carlos Sanchez is not in the starting lineup against Texas Rangers SP Colby Lewis Friday, June 19. 2B Gordon Beckham will start at second base and is batting ninth in the lineup.

Fantasy Tip: Sanchez ($2,800, 5.6% of cap) likely is receiving a day off and should return soon. Beckham ($2,300, 4.6% of cap) has only one hit in his last 10 games and should be avoided by owners on FantasyScore.

White Sox | Alexei Ramirez out vs. Astros

Wed, 10 Jun 2015 15:30:06 -0700

Chicago White Sox SS Alexei Ramirez is not in the starting lineup Wednesday, June 10. 2B Gordon Beckham is playing shortstop and batting ninth against Houston Astros SP Vincent Velasquez Wednesday.

Fantasy Tip: Make sure to avoid Ramirez ($3,400, 6.8% of cap) in all fantasy formats Wednesday. Beckham ($2,300, 4.6% of cap) has been wildly inconsistent this season and is currently riding a 0-for-13 run. Perhaps he can snap his funk against Velsquez, who is making his major league debut. FantasyScore players shouldn't count on it, though.

White Sox | Gordon Beckham starting at third

Sat, 06 Jun 2015 14:21:22 -0700

Chicago White Sox 2B Gordon Beckham will make another start at third base Saturday, June 6, against the Detroit Tigers. 3B Conor Gillaspie is out of the lineup against LHP David Price.

Fantasy Tip: Beckham ($2,300, 4.6% of cap) will hit sixth in the order, behind Adam LaRoche and ahead of Geovany Soto. Beckham is 5-for-his-last-18, but he doesn't have a single extra-base hit in that time. Beckham is hitting just .214 against lefties on the season, and he should be avoided against one of the best in David Price.

White Sox | Gordon Beckham on good run

Fri, 05 Jun 2015 13:28:33 -0700

Chicago White Sox 2B Gordon Beckham has hit safely in 10 of his last 11 games while going 14-for-42 (.333) with four multi-hit games in that span.

Fantasy Tip: Beckham ($2,300, 4.6% of cap) is hitting .283 (26-for-92) with three home runs and 14 RBI, and he's seeing more playing time over Conor Gillaspie at the hot corner. He's a midrange FantasyScore option that typically doesn't fill out the stat sheet. He's also not that exciting against a lefty tonight, as he's just .240 (6-for-25) with no homers and four RBI against southpaws this year.

White Sox | Jose Abreu remains out

Sun, 31 May 2015 10:56:27 -0700

Chicago White Sox 1B Jose Abreu (finger) is not in the starting lineup Sunday, May 31. 3B Gordon Beckham will be the starting third baseman, while 3B Conor Gillaspie will be the designated hitter.

Fantasy Tip: Abreu's ($5,300, 10.6% of cap) timetable is uncertain at this point, so owners should watch for any updates. Beckham ($1,800, 3.6% of cap) and Gillaspie ($2,300, 4.6% of cap) are cheaper option on FantasyScore, but owners should be able to find better options.

White Sox | Conor Gillaspie sitting

Wed, 27 May 2015 09:32:49 -0700

Chicago White Sox 3B Conor Gillaspie is not in the starting lineup Wednesday, May 27. 2B Gordon Beckham is starting at the hot corner and hitting seventh in the batting order against Toronto Blue Jays SP Marco Estrada.

Fantasy Tip: Beckham ($1,800, 3.6% of cap) is seeing more and more starts at third base in place of Gillaspie lately. He doesn't have a ton of offensive upside, though, although he could pay off as a deep sleeper today against Estrada, who has really struggled in his transition from the bullpen to the starting rotation.

White Sox | Gordon Beckham starting at third

Tue, 26 May 2015 15:19:01 -0700

Chicago White Sox 2B Gordon Beckham will get the start at third base Tuesday, May 26, against the Toronto Blue Jays. Beckham will be hitting seventh in the order. 3B Conor Gillaspie is out of the lineup.

Fantasy Tip: Beckham ($1,800, 3.6% of cap) has not had a multi-hit game since May 13, when he also hit his lone home run of the season. FantasyScore owners can do better, even at the thin second base position.

White Sox | Conor Gillaspie out vs. Cleveland

Thu, 21 May 2015 14:11:28 -0700

Chicago White Sox 3B Conor Gillaspie is not in the starting lineup against the Cleveland Indians Thursday, May 21. 2B Gordon Beckham is starting at third base and batting seventh.

Fantasy Tip: Make sure to avoid Gillaspie ($2,300, 4.6% of cap) in all formats Thursday. He has picked up his pace at the plate lately with a 15-for-48 run dating back to Tuesday, April 28, and he is should be owned in the majority of deep mixed leagues. Beckham ($1,800, 3.6% of cap) should be viewed as nothing more than a low-priced flier by FantasyScore players Thursday.
