Giants | Buster Posey out of lineup Saturday

Sat, 03 Oct 2015 12:27:08 -0700

San Francisco Giants C/1B Buster Posey is not in the starting lineup against Colorado Rockies SP Chris Rusin Saturday, Oct. 3. C Trevor Brown will start behind the plate, with INF Kevin Frandsen playing first base.

Fantasy Tip: Both Brown ($1,700, 3.4% of cap) and Frandsen ($1,600, 3.2% of cap) have limited offensive potential and should only be used as desperation sources of salary cap relief in FantasyScore. Posey ($5,500, 11.0% of cap) should return to action for the regular-season finale Sunday, Oct. 4.

Giants | Buster Posey sitting against Dodgers

Wed, 30 Sep 2015 16:47:31 -0700

San Francisco Giants C Buster Posey is not in the starting lineup against the Los Angeles Dodgers Wednesday, Sept. 30.

Fantasy Tip: Nick Noonan ($1,900, 3.8% of cap) draws into the lineup, but he is nothing more than a desperation flier at FantasyScore Wednesday. Expect Posey ($5,500, 11.0% of cap) to play the majority of the remaining games and cap off an impressive season. He currently has 19 home runs, and it stands to believe he'll be chasing No. 20 this weekend.

Giants | No catching for Buster Posey

Wed, 30 Sep 2015 00:28:09 -0700

San Francisco Giants C Buster Posey is likely to play first base for the remainder of the regular season.

Fantasy Tip: Posey ($5,500, 11.0% of cap) will gain valuable position eligibility in some leagues because of his dual ability to catch and play first. For now, he's hitting .333 with three homers and 14 RBIs in September so use him the rest of the way when he plays.

Giants | Buster Posey right back in lineup

Wed, 23 Sep 2015 16:37:47 -0700

San Francisco Giants C Buster Posey (hip, back) is starting at first base and batting fourth against San Diego Padres SP Andrew Cashner Wednesday, Sept. 23.

Fantasy Tip: Posey ($5,200, 10.4% of cap) missed the game Tuesday, Sept. 22, because of nagging hip and back injuries. He is pricey at FantasyScore, and potentially playing at less than 100%, so he likely isn't the safest play Wednesday.

Giants | Buster Posey beat up

Tue, 22 Sep 2015 16:56:48 -0700

San Francisco Giants C Buster Posey (hip, back) is dealing with nagging hip and back injuries and is out of the lineup Tuesday, Sept. 22. However, he expects to be back in there Wednesday, Sept. 23.

Fantasy Tip: As long as Posey ($5,200, 10.4% of cap) is indeed back in the lineup tomorrow, he should be fine to use as one of the safest catching options on FantasyScore. Ignore Trevor Brown tonight against the San Diego Padres.

Giants | Buster Posey, Angel Pagan hot

Tue, 22 Sep 2015 10:11:17 -0700

San Francisco Giants C Buster Posey leads the team with three home runs and 13 RBI in September and has a slash line of .373/.486/.593 with 12 walks and five strikeouts in 72 plate appearances. OF Angel Pagan is hitting .310/.372/.451 with two home runs and six RBI during the month.

Fantasy Tip: When a player is hot, we usually tell fantasy gamers to ride them in daily leagues like FantasyScore. Posey ($5,200, 10.4% of cap) and Pagan ($3,900, 7.8% of cap) are solid picks against the San Diego Padres tonight.

Giants | Buster Posey playing first base

Sat, 19 Sep 2015 11:11:30 -0700

San Francisco Giants C/1B Buster Posey will bat cleanup and play first base against Arizona Diamondbacks SP Patrick Corbin Saturday, Sept. 19, with C Trevor Brown batting eighth and starting behind the plate.

Fantasy Tip: Posey ($5,200, 10.4% of cap) is batting .392 with two home runs and 10 RBIs during the month of September and he is 9-for-25 (.360) with two RBIs versus Corbin in his career, so starting him in FantasyScore would be an excellent idea. Brown is making his major league debut and is not yet available in FantasyScore.

Giants | Buster Posey returns to lineup

Fri, 11 Sep 2015 18:10:36 -0700

San Francisco Giants C Buster Posey (ankle) is back in the starting lineup against San Diego Padres SP Andrew Cashner Friday, Sept. 11, batting cleanup.

Fantasy Tip: Posey ($5,200, 10.4% of cap) had been dealing with some minor discomfort in his surgically-repaired left ankle but FantasyScore owners should have no reservations about using him tonight. After all, he is batting .464 this month and is 10-for-20 in his career against Cashner.

Giants | Buster Posey dealing with ankle pain

Wed, 09 Sep 2015 17:10:36 -0700

San Francisco Giants C Buster Posey (ankle) is not in the starting lineup Wednesday, Sept. 9, because his ankle is bothering him and he needed a day off, according to manager Bruce Bochy.

Fantasy Tip: Posey ($5,200, 10.4% of cap) is dealing with discomfort in his left ankle, which is the same one he fractured during the 2011 season. However, this appears to be a minor concern and he should be back in the lineup Friday, Sept. 11, against the San Diego Padres, following the team's off day Thursday, Sept. 10.

Giants | Buster Posey out Wednesday

Wed, 09 Sep 2015 16:07:45 -0700

San Francisco Giants C Buster Posey is not in the starting lineup Wednesday, Sept. 9. C Jackson Williams is behind the plate and is hitting eighth against Arizona Diamondbacks SP Zack Godley.

Fantasy Tip: Jackson Williams won't be available on FantasyScore this evening, so you don't need to worry about him. He'll be a low-priced, low-end catching commodity in daily leagues, though, on days he's spelling Posey.
