The San Diego Padres are expected to activate 1B Yonder Alonso (wrist) from the 15-day disabled list Saturday, July 26. OF Jacob Goebbert is expected to be optioned to Triple-A El Paso to make room for Alonso on the 25-man roster.

San Diego Padres 2B Jedd Gyorko (foot) and 1B Yonder Alonso (wrist) could rejoin the team this weekend during the series against the Atlanta Braves, according to manager Bud Black.
Fantasy Tip: With improved health, Gyorko could provide solid power numbers down the stretch in all formats, especially for a second baseman. Alonso is best suited for deep mixed leagues and NL-only formats. Alonso is also a better fit in OBP formats.

He hit two homers on the team's latest road trip and has three in his last nine games. "I think it was just a matter of time … and I was saying that in April," Alonso said. "It was just a matter of time before things got better. I kept hitting balls right at people. I just had to stay with it and trust what I was doing."
