Royals | Eric Hosmer's hot streak continues

Thu, 29 Oct 2015 04:57:01 -0700

Kansas City Royals 1B Eric Hosmer had two RBIs Wednesday, Oct. 28, in a 7-1 win over the New York Mets in Game 2 of the World Series. Hosmer has 15 RBIs in 13 postseason games this year.

Fantasy Tip: Hosmer's error in Game 1 reminded many of the Bill Buckner play in the 1986 World Series, but he has largely redeemed himself with the bat. He will be a solid choice in all formats come spring drafting.

Mets | Matt Harvey has struggled against lefties

Tue, 27 Oct 2015 11:49:04 -0700

New York Mets SP Matt Harvey has particularly liked to throw his fastball to left-handed hitters on the outside of the plate. He had a .676 OPS against lefties this year compared to .544 against righties, and 15 of the 18 home runs he allowed in 2015 were to lefty hitters. The Kansas City Royals are notoriously good fastball hitters, and their lefty hitters like fastballs away. 2B Ben Zobrist (.206/.372/.324), 1B Eric Hosmer (.379/.463/.707), 1B Kendrys Morales (.400/.494/.662), 3B Mike Moustakas (.300/.385/.500) and OF Alex Gordon (.340/.407/.698) all had success against right-handed fastballs away.

Fantasy Tip: Harvey is one of the better young fastball pitchers, but against the best fastball-hitting team in baseball this year, he'll need to effectively mix in his slider and changeup to keep them off balance and be successful, especially against the lefties. Harvey's high innings total after coming off Tommy John surgery will be a narrative in the World Series, as well.

Royals | Lorenzo Cain scores pennant-winning run

Sat, 24 Oct 2015 00:46:54 -0700

Kansas City Royals OF Lorenzo Cain scored on a single by 1B Eric Hosmer during Game 6 of the American League Championship Series Friday, Oct. 23. Cain scored all the way from first base to give Kansas City a 4-3 win over the Toronto Blue Jays.

Fantasy Tip: Cain ($4,600, 9.2% of cap) can be a dangerous runner when he gets on base, so he remains a good source of points in FantasyScore thanks to his ability to hit, run and steal bases.

Royals | Eric Hosmer goes yard vs. 'Stros

Mon, 12 Oct 2015 15:55:52 -0700

Kansas City Royals 1B Eric Hosmer went 2-for-5 with two runs, a home run and three RBI during the Royals' Game 4 win over the Houston Astros Monday, Oct. 12.

Fantasy Tip: Entering the game, Hosmer ($5,800, 11.6% of cap) was 1-for-12 during the postseason, so he rewarded FantasyScore owners Monday. However, he likely isn't a strong play for Game 5, as the Astros are expected to turn to lefty Dallas Keuchel ($8,300, 16.6% of cap). Plus, first base is a deep fantasy position.

Royals | Kansas City resting regulars

Fri, 25 Sep 2015 13:01:00 -0700

Kansas City Royals OFs Lorenzo Cain and Alex Gordon, 1Bs Eric Hosmer and Kendrys Morales, C Salvador Perez, 3B Mike Moustakas and SS Alcides Escobar are not in the starting lineup against the Cleveland Indians Friday, Sept. 25.

Fantasy Tip: After clinching the American League Central Division Thursday, Sept. 25, Ben Zobrist ($4,600, 9.2% of cap) and Alex Rios ($4,500, 9.0% of cap) are the only regulars in the lineup for Kansas City. FantasyScore players should view the entire lineup as risky starts at FantasyScore, including Zobrist and Rios. Additionally, Cleveland SP Carlos Carrasco ($7,900, 15.8% of cap) checks out as a high-end pitching option.

Royals | Eric Hosmer not starting

Sun, 06 Sep 2015 10:34:27 -0700

Kansas City Royals 1B Eric Hosmer is not in the starting lineup against Chicago White Sox SP Erik Johnson Sunday, Sept. 6. 1B Kendrys Morales will start at first base and is batting fourth.

Fantasy Tip: Hosmer ($4,700, 9.4% of cap) probably is receiving the day off Sunday. Morales ($4,500, 9.0% of cap) is hitting .417 with two home runs and nine RBI over the last seven days and could be a solid starting option on FantasyScore.

Kansas City Royals 1B Eric Hosmer went 1-for-3 with an RBI and two walks Wednesday, Aug. 19, against the Cincinnati Reds to push his hitting streak t0 1 games.

Fantasy Tip: Hosmer ($4,700, 9.4% of cap) is hitting .342 (13-for-38) during his impressive hitting streak. He is a must-have in FantasyScore at a mid-level price while he is rolling along.

Royals | Eric Hosmer on RBI streak

Sat, 15 Aug 2015 19:23:17 -0700

Kansas City Royals 1B Eric Hosmer went 2-for-4 with a double, an RBI, a run scored and a walk in a 9-4 win over the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim Saturday, Aug. 15, and he has at least one RBI in nine straight games.

Fantasy Tip: Hosmer ($4,500, 9.0% of cap) has 12 RBI and nine runs scored during the streak, and he has taken his performance to another level over the past month. He is well worth his price tag at FantasyScore most nights.

Royals | Two more hits for Eric Hosmer

Wed, 29 Jul 2015 18:17:13 -0700

Kansas City Royals 1B Eric Hosmer had a pair of doubles in four at-bats Wednesday, July 29, against the Cleveland Indians.

Fantasy Tip: Hosmer ($4,300, 8.6% of cap) has hit safely in 11 straight games, hitting a robust .523 (23-for-44). He also had eight hits in the three-game set for the Indians, and is now hitting .429 (21-for-49) with five doubles, a triple, five homers and 19 RBIs against Cleveland pitching this season. FantasyScore owners will want to use him regardless of opponent right. But remember him when these teams tangle again Sept. 14-17 in Cleveland, and again Sept. 25-27 in K.C.

Royals | Eric Hosmer crushing CLE pitching

Mon, 27 Jul 2015 22:32:07 -0700

Kansas City Royals 1B Eric Hosmer went 3-for-5 with a three-run home run, three runs scored and four RBIs Monday, July 27, against the Cleveland Indians. He is hitting .390 (16-for-41) with four home runs and 17 RBIs against the Indians this season.

Fantasy Tip: Hosmer ($4,300, 8.6% of cap) is worth using in FantasyScore whenever he is facing Cleveland pitching.
