Twins | Aaron Hicks hopes to return next week

Tue, 25 Aug 2015 19:48:50 -0700

Fantasy Tip: The switch-hitting Hicks ($4,100, 8.2% of cap) has tied a career high in homers, and he is just two short of a career best in RBIs while also remaining tied for a career high with nine steals. Twins | Aaron Hicks' injury is considered minor

Fri, 21 Aug 2015 14:35:12 -0700

Minnesota Twins OF Aaron Hicks' (hamstring) hamstring strain is considered minor, and he is currently rehabbing in Minneapolis.

Fantasy Tip: Hicks' ($4,500, 9.0% of cap) injury opened the door for Byron Buxton to rejoin the Twins, and Buxton holds fleeting value in the majority of formats. Keep your expectation in check with Buxton, though, as he has missed a lot of time with injuries over the past few seasons. Hicks is a stash option, but if you're desperate for roster space and at-bats, there are plenty of viable outfield options in the majority of seasonal leagues.

Twins | Aaron Hicks placed on DL

Wed, 19 Aug 2015 14:23:29 -0700

Minnesota Twins OF Aaron Hicks (hamstring) was placed on the 15-day disabled list with a left hamstring strain after the game Wednesday, Aug. 19, and OF Byron Buxton will rejoin the Twins from the minors in a corresponding move. Hicks is believed to be dealing with a minor strain, but Minnesota doesn't want to play short-handed, according to manager Paul Molitor. Buxton was hitting .400 with a home run, three doubles and a triple in 13 games for Class AAA Rochester since coming off the DL Aug. 10.

Fantasy Tip: It's a bummer for Hicks ($4,500, 9.0% of cap) owners, as he had really turned it on in the second half of the season. Keep him stashed in deeper mixed and AL-only leagues, but know that he may not see everyday playing time when he's ready to return. Buxton is the team's top overall prospect, but he has struggled in his limited time in the majors so far. He should be picked up in all leagues if he's available, but take a wait-and-see approach with him on FantasyScore to see if he can translate his minor league success to the majors once and for all.

Twins | Aaron Hicks leaves game with injury

Wed, 19 Aug 2015 11:48:16 -0700

Minnesota Twins OF Aaron Hicks (hamstring) left the game early after pulling his hamstring running to first base Wednesday, Aug. 19.

Fantasy Tip: If Hicks' ($4,500, 9.0% of cap) injury is serious, it could prompt the Twins to bring Byron Buxton back up to start in center field. Buxton is one of the top prospects in all of baseball, but he has struggled in limited action in the majors so far. Check to see if he's available in your league and add him now just in case.

Twins | Aaron Hicks leading off Wednesday

Wed, 05 Aug 2015 14:24:38 -0700

Minnesota Twins OF Aaron Hicks is hitting leadoff against Toronto Blue Jays SP Drew Hutchison Wednesday, Aug. 5.

Fantasy Tip: Hicks ($2,800, 5.6% of cap) normally hits near the bottom of the order, so a move up to leadoff is significant for his daily value on FantasyScore. Hutchison has been very inconsistent of late, too, although he's been much better at home in 2015. Hicks could return some really nice value tonight.

Wed, 29 Jul 2015 10:59:39 -0700

Minnesota Twins OF Aaron Hicks entered the game Wednesday, July 29, with a slash line of .323/.410/.554 in his last 20 games since coming off the disabled list.

Fantasy Tip: Hicks ($2,800, 5.6% of cap) has become a real nice value play in daily games while he's hot, and his nice run should keep him receiving steady playing time, even when Byron Buxton returns from injury.
