White Sox | Brett Lawrie placed on the DL

Wed, 27 Jul 2016 12:07:37 -0700

Chicago White Sox 2B Brett Lawrie (hamstring) was placed on the 15-day disabled list with a strained hamstring Wednesday, July 27. In a corresponding move, INF Carlos Sanchez was recalled from the minors.

Fantasy Tip: Lawrie hasn't played since injuring his left hamstring Thursday, July 21. He can be replaced in mixed leagues given his underwhelming .248/.310/.413 slash line, but he's likely worth stashing in cavernous mixed and AL-only settings. Tyler Saladino projects to continue seeing regular duty at the keystone, but he's not a viable option in the majority of formats.

White Sox | Brett Lawrie remains sidelined

Tue, 26 Jul 2016 12:31:50 -0700

Chicago White Sox 2B Brett Lawrie (hamstring) is not in the starting lineup against Chicago Cubs SP Kyle Hendricks Tuesday, July 26. SS Tyler Saladino will start at second base and is batting ninth in the lineup.

Fantasy Tip: Owners will need to keep an eye on the situation to see if Lawrie will need to be placed on the disabled list. Saladino is hitting .389 with one RBI over the last seven days and should be a starting candidate in AL-only leagues.

White Sox | Brett Lawrie still out vs. Cubs

Mon, 25 Jul 2016 15:04:37 -0700

Chicago White Sox 2B Brett Lawrie (hamstring) is not in the starting lineup Monday, July 25. SS Tyler Saladino is starting at second base and is hitting ninth against Chicago Cubs SP Jake Arrieta.

Fantasy Tip: Lawrie hasn't played since last Thursday, so he could be a DL candidate if he needs to miss anymore time. Plan accordingly. Saladino doesn't move the fantasy needle much as a replacement and faces a very tough matchup in Arrieta Monday. Ignore him in all fantasy formats.

White Sox | Brett Lawrie set for MRI exam

Fri, 22 Jul 2016 14:56:49 -0700

Updating a previous report, Chicago White Sox 2B Brett Lawrie (hamstring) will undergo an MRI exam after arriving at the park still nursing a left hamstring injury Friday, July 22, according to manager Robin Ventura.

Fantasy Tip: Lawrie has respectable counting stats (35 runs, 12 home runs, 36 RBI and seven stolen bases), but his .248/.310/.413 slash line leaves a little to be desired. It sounds like Lawrie is set to miss some time, so scouting replacements isn't encouraged. Stay tuned for updates.

White Sox | Brett Lawrie sitting vs. Tigers

Fri, 22 Jul 2016 13:12:52 -0700

Chicago White Sox 2B Brett Lawrie (hamstring) is not in the starting lineup Friday, July 22. INF Tyler Saladino is starting at second base and batting eighth against Detroit Tigers SP Michael Fulmer Friday.

Fantasy Tip: Lawrie injured his hamstring Thursday, July 21, and he's currently considered day-to-day. He sits with a decent stat line of 35 runs, 12 home runs, 36 RBI and seven stolen bases. However, sitting with a .248/.310/.413 slash line leaves owners wishing for more. Saladino isn't much of a fantasy priority facing Fulmer Friday.

White Sox | Brett Lawrie injures hamstring

Thu, 21 Jul 2016 23:50:30 -0700

Chicago White Sox 2B Brett Lawrie (hamstring) is day-to-day following tightness in his left hamstring that forced him to leave the game Thursday, July 21, against the Detroit Tigers.

Fantasy Tip: Keep an eye on Lawrie and whether that injury will force him to miss any time. Tyler Saladino would likely benefit from a Lawrie injury or trip to the disabled list.
