Atlanta Braves RP Craig Kimbrel is unlikely to be available to close Wednesday, July 2, after pitching in three straight games. Kimbrel has never been used on four consecutive days in his career. "Not only has he done three (in a row) but prior to those three he has had some pretty heavy workloads," manager Fredi Gonzalez said. "He's had a pretty good stretch of appearances."
Fantasy Tip: David Carpenter, who was just activated from the DL, could be in line for a save chance immediately tonight. If not, it could be Jordan Walden toeing the mound in the ninth.

Atlanta Braves CL Craig Kimbrel allowed three hits, two runs, one walk and a hit batsman in his return after time off to rest. "That was pretty bad. I was all over the place," Kimbrel said of his 24-pitch performance. "I couldn't get the curveball over at first. Just throwing fastballs over the plate, and when you do that it makes for a tough inning."

Atlanta Braves RP Craig Kimbrel (shoulder) said he's been bothered by the shoulder issue on and off since spring training, but he doesn't think it's serious and expects to be back pitching soon. "There's no reason to push it this early in the year," Kimbrel said. "It's something that doesn't really hinder me on the field. Being a pitcher, things get sore now and then. It's just a little uncomfortable. I'll take a few days off and be ready to go."
