Athletics | Josh Reddick dialed in at the plate

Sat, 25 Apr 2015 18:39:36 -0700

Oakland Athletics OF Josh Reddick went 2-for-2 with a run scored and two walks in a 9-3 loss to the Houston Astros Saturday, April 25, and he has 11 hits in his last seven games.

Fantasy Tip: Reddick ($2,400, 4.8% of cap) has raised his average from his .200 to .357 over the last seven games, and while he generally sits against left-handed pitching, he is a solid value pick at FantasyScore against righties right now.

Athletics | Josh Reddick sitting out

Fri, 24 Apr 2015 14:16:29 -0700

Oakland Athletics OF Josh Reddick is not in the starting lineup against the Houston Astros Friday, April 24. OF Cody Ross is starting in right field and bating fifth.

Fantasy Tip: This is another handedness platoon you can expect going forward from Oakland. Make sure to remove Reddick ($2,400, 4.8% of cap) from your fantasy lineups Friday. Ross ($1,800, 3.6% of cap) has struggled mightily to start the season, and he is nothing more than a desperation flier in FantasyScore contests until he starts to produce at the dish.

Athletics | Josh Reddick not starting

Tue, 21 Apr 2015 16:13:10 -0700

Oakland Athletics OF Josh Reddick is not in the starting lineup against Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim left-handed SP Hector Santiago Tuesday, April 21. OF Cody Ross is starting in right field and hitting fifth in the batting order.

Fantasy Tip: Ross ($1,800, 3.6% of cap) is off to a slow start in 2015 after landing with the A's, and his splits against left-handers last year didn't stand out at all. He's a lukewarm option for FantasyScore owners, at best, Tuesday night.

Athletics | Josh Reddick leaves yard Saturday

Sun, 19 Apr 2015 05:26:39 -0700

Oakland Athletics OF Josh Reddick hit his first home run of the season against the Kansas City Royals Saturday, April 18. Reddick finished 2-for-4 with three RBI in the Athletics 5-0 win over the Royals.

Fantasy Tip: With 24 at-bats under his belt, Reddick ($2,400 salary, 4.8% of cap) should now have the rust shaken off. He missed the beginning of the season with an oblique injury. At his low cap hit, FantasyScore players can start Reddick with confidence against weak right-handed pitchers.

Athletics | Josh Reddick out first week

Thu, 02 Apr 2015 06:02:43 -0700

Oakland Athletics OF Josh Reddick (oblique) will be on the disabled list for the first five games of the season with a strained oblique. 2B Ben Zobrist will begin the season in right field for the club.

Fantasy Tip: Reddick ($3,500, 7.0% of your cap) has cheap power potential if he can stay on the field and regain his stroke. Avoid him on FantasyScore, but don't forget about him completely. As for Zobrist, at $4,900 (9.8%), he's an upper echelon second baseman.

Athletics | Josh Reddick unlikely for opener

Fri, 27 Mar 2015 11:05:28 -0700

Oakland Athletics OF Josh Reddick (oblique) is unlikely to be ready for the season opener, according to manager Bob Melvin.

Fantasy Tip: This shouldn't come as a big surprise, as oblique strains can often be tricky and require plenty of rest. For that reason, Reddick ($3,500, 7.0% of cap) doesn't make for a strong FantasyScore play when he initially returns to action.

Athletics | Josh Reddick takes batting practice

Thu, 26 Mar 2015 16:31:38 -0700

Oakland Athletics OF Josh Reddick (oblique) took batting practice Thursday, March 26, and is expected to return to the lineup Saturday, March 28, or Sunday, March 29.

Fantasy Tip: Continue to check back for updates on Reddick's ($3,500. 7.0%) pursuit to open the season with the team. He is a serious injury risk and played just 114 games in 2013 and 109 last year. Still there is power upside, and Reddick is a viable late-round selection if you're lacking pop in the endgame of drafts. Allow Reddick to prove his health before utilizing him in FantasyScore contests.
