Nationals | Stephen Strasburg putting it all together

Wed, 04 May 2016 17:15:06 -0700

Updating a previous report, Washington Nationals SP Stephen Strasburg has a 2.08 ERA and a 139-17 strikeout-to-walk ratio through 108 1/3 innings over his past 16 starts dating back to last season.

Fantasy Tip: Strasburg has flashed elite fantasy numbers between injuries and rough patches throughout his career, but currently, he is locked in as an ace for your virtual rotation. With free agency following the 2016 campaign, there are millions of reasons for Strasburg to key in on a career year, and Washington and fantasy owners should be happy to tag along for the ride.

Nationals | Stephen Strasburg solid, now 5-0

Wed, 04 May 2016 14:55:12 -0700

Washington Nationals SP Stephen Strasburg improved to 5-0 by beating the Kansas City Royals on Wednesday, May 4. He logged six pretty good innings, allowing two runs on five hits and a walk. He also had seven strikeouts.

Fantasy Tip: As long as he stays healthy, there's no question Strasburg is on pace to claim his first All-Star berth. The 27-year-old not only is perfect with his win-loss record, but he's also put together a shiny 2.36 ERA to go with a dazzling 47-to-9 K/BB ratio in his 42 total innings. Owners should continue to get that type of dominance as long as he can avoid the disabled list.

Washington Nationals SP Stephen Strasburg allowed two runs on eight hits while walking one and striking out nine over seven innings in a win over the St. Louis Cardinals Friday, April 29.

Fantasy Tip: Strasburg improved to 4-0 this season, and he has struck out 29 over 22 1/3 innings over his last three starts combined. He is healthy and should be treated like a fantasy ace.

Nationals | Stephen Strasburg dominates

Tue, 19 Apr 2016 23:47:56 -0700

Washington Nationals SP Stephen Strasburg fanned 10 over eight shutout innings to defeat the Miami Marlins Tuesday, April 19. He only allowed three hits and two walks.

Fantasy Tip: Stras is now 3-0 with a 1.25 ERA, a 0.92 WHIP and 21 K's in 21 2/3 innings as he looks like he finally may evolve into that fantasy ace. Perfect timing, too, as he's in a contract year. He's a must-start right now.

Nationals | Sharp outing for Stephen Strasburg

Thu, 14 Apr 2016 16:53:16 -0700

Washington Nationals SP Stephen Strasburg allowed two runs on four hits and two walks while striking out seven batters through 7 2/3 innings during the Nationals' 6-2 win over the Atlanta Braves Thursday, April 14.

Fantasy Tip: Strasburg has been a polarizing hurler the past few seasons, but there is a lot to like about his start to the season, especially in a contract year. He has the upside to produce as a fantasy ace and currently sits with two wins, a 1.98 ERA, a 1.10 WHIP and 11 strikeouts through 13 2/3 innings.

Nationals | Stephen Strasburg starting Thursday

Thu, 14 Apr 2016 09:36:06 -0700

Washington Nationals SP Stephen Strasburg (illness) will make the start against the Atlanta Braves Thursday, April 14.

Fantasy Tip: Strasburg was scratched from his scheduled start Wednesday after he had been under the weather earlier in the week. He pitched well against the winless Braves in his first start last week and should be deployed in all leagues with confidence today.

Nationals | Stephen Strasburg could pitch Thursday

Wed, 13 Apr 2016 15:12:15 -0700

The Washington Nationals are hoping SP Stephen Strasburg (illness) can make a start against the Atlanta Braves Thursday, April 14, after being scratched with an illness Wednesday, April 13. RP Yusmeiro Petit could make a spot start Thursday if Strasburg still isn't ready.

Fantasy Tip: Strasburg gave up just one run on six hits in six innings in a win against the Braves in his season debut last week. Hopefully for his owners he's able to start tomorrow. If he's back, make sure to get him back into all starting lineups.

Nationals | Stephen Strasburg scratched

Wed, 13 Apr 2016 11:25:25 -0700

Washington Nationals SP Stephen Strasburg (illness) is being scratched from his start against the Atlanta Braves with an illness Wednesday, April 13. SP Tanner Roark will start in Strasburg's place.

Fantasy Tip: Bad timing for Stras, as he was set for a nice matchup against the winless Braves. Roark doesn't do anything particularly well but does yield plenty of ground balls and has nice control. That could go a long way as a value play as your second daily starter Tuesday.

Nationals | Stephen Strasburg to face Atlanta

Tue, 12 Apr 2016 23:11:02 -0700

Washington Nationals SP Stephen Strasburg will face the Atlanta Braves Wednesday, April 13. He is 3-0 with a 0.53 ERA over his past three starts against the Braves, including a 3-1 win against them in the second game of the season.

Fantasy Tip: Strasburg is obviously a great play in seasonal fantasy formats, but he is especially useful in DFS play Wednesday despite his high price tag.

Nationals | Stephen Strasburg toying with new pitch?

Thu, 07 Apr 2016 13:41:08 -0700

Washington Nationals SP Stephen Strasburg utilized a new breaking ball 12 times during his start against the Atlanta Braves Wednesday, April 6, and the Braves swung 11 times, including twice for a strikeout.

Fantasy Tip: Adding another swing-and-miss pitch to his arsenal only stands to help Strasburg achieve his bounce-back season following a strong finish to 2015, which included eight wins, a 1.79 ERA and 110 strikeouts through 82 innings over 13 starts.
