Giants | Brandon Crawford returns

Fri, 05 Jun 2015 12:51:43 -0700

San Francisco Giants SS Brandon Crawford (calf) is batting sixth and starting at shortstop against the Philadelphia Phillies Friday, June 5.

Fantasy Tip: Crawford ($4,900, 9.8% of cap) should be viewed as a high-risk, high-reward option for FantasyScore contests Friday. He did not play Wednesday, June 3, due to a minor calf injury, and though it is a plus-matchup with Jerome Williams starting for Philly, Crawford's cap hit is on the hefty side compared to his shortstop peers. For the season, Crawford has posted a somewhat breakout performance for fantasy owners, as he has 27 runs, eight home runs, 37 RBI, two stolen bases and a .293/.366/.505 slash line.

Fantasy Tip: Both players should be expected to return to the lineup Friday after an off day Thursday. Pence ($4,700, 9.4% of cap) and Crawford ($4,900, 9.8% of cap) are both acceptable FantasyScore options the majority of the time.

San Francisco Giants SS Brandon Crawford went 3-for-5 with a grand slam, two runs scored and a career-high six RBIs in an 11-2 win over the Cincinnati Reds Saturday, May 16.

Giants | Brandon Crawford adjusting to offspeed

Thu, 07 May 2015 11:51:03 -0700

San Francisco Giants SS Brandon Crawford said he has been seeing much more offspeed pitches than fastballs as pitchers adjust to him this season. As a result, he has worked on seeing and hitting offspeed pitches during batting practice, and it has paid off.

Fantasy Tip: Crawford ($3,400, 6.8% of cap) has raised his average to .253 (22-for-87) with a team-high five home runs and 15 RBI. So far in the month of May, he's hitting .316 (6-for-19) with a homer and four RBI. He's surprisingly hitting lefties better than righties this year, too. If he's on the waiver wire in a shallow mixed league and you're hurting at shortstop or middle infield, you could do much worse than Crawford.

Giants | Brandon Crawford sitting the bench

Wed, 15 Apr 2015 15:42:35 -0700

San Francisco Giants OF Brandon Crawford is not in the starting lineup against Colorado Rockies SP Tyler Matzek Wednesday, April 15. SS Joaquin Arias is starting at shortstop and hitting seventh in the batting order.

Fantasy Tip: Arias ($1,600, 3.2% of cap) should never really be a recommendation for FantasyScore lineups, other than to save you considerable money for the rest of your lineup.
