San Francisco Giants SS Brandon Crawford (hamstring) is sitting out due to a tight hamstring Wednesday, April 16. Manager Bruce Bochy said the move is a precaution.
Fantasy Tip: Expect to see Crawford back in the lineup for the team's next game. It makes sense to sit him tonight with the team facing a lefty.

San Francisco Giants manager Bruce Bochy said SS Brandon Crawford will sit against some left-handed pitchers, with 2B Joaquin Arias serving as the shortstop during those games, and SS Brandon Hicks working at second base. "I need to hit better against left-handed pitchers. I know that," Crawford said Monday, March 31. "I'm going to go out there and do my best, and hopefully I have good at-bats. I know (Bochy) is trying to put the best lineup on the field. I want to be part of the best lineup."
Crawford worked with spring instructor Barry Bonds during the spring, and credits Bonds with helping him to keep his front shoulder closed, which allows him to see breaking pitches longer and outside fastballs better.

Updating a previous report, San Francisco Giants SS Brandon Crawford (fingers) remained sidelined Friday, June 21, but he was able to play catch with a trainer before the game.

San Francisco Giants SS Brandon Crawford (fingers) is doubtful to play Thursday, June 20, as he deals with swelling and pain in his two sprained fingers, but he could pinch hit if needed Wednesday, June 19. INF Joaquin Arias is starting at shortstop Wednesday and INF Tony Abreu is manning the hot corner.
Fantasy Tip: Arias should continue to man the 6 while Crawford is out. But with Crawford expected to return soon and Pablo Sandoval (foot) expected to come off the disabled list early next week, Arias' short-term value is about to run dry.
