Twins | Eduardo Nunez out of the lineup

Thu, 23 Jun 2016 08:14:25 -0700

Minnesota Twins SS Eduardo Nunez is out of the lineup Thursday, June 23, with OF Robbie Grossman hitting leadoff.

Fantasy Tip: Grossman has been an OBP machine with 19 walks in 69 at-bats this month. He's hitting .261 with three homers and six RBI in June. He has upside against Jerad Eickhoff in the leadoff spot.

Twins | Robbie Grossman out of the lineup

Sat, 18 Jun 2016 08:28:56 -0700

Minnesota Twins OF Robbie Grossman is not in the starting lineup against New York Yankees SP Michael Pineda Saturday, June 18. OF Danny Santana will start in left field and is batting second.

Fantasy Tip: Santana recent returned from injury and should see playing time in the outfield. He is batting .256 with one home run and 10 RBI this season and is not a great option for owners in daily fantasy leagues.

Twins | Robbie Grossman in two-hole

Tue, 07 Jun 2016 14:11:28 -0700

Minnesota Twins OF Robbie Grossman is hitting second against Miami Marlins SP Adam Conley Tuesday, June 7. 2B Brian Dozier has been dropped to fifth in the batting order.

Fantasy Tip: It's unclear if this is a one-game deal or something that will continue for the forseeable future. Grossman, a switch-hitter, has done well in limited at-bats in a starting role for Minnesota (.327-3-10 in 52 at-bats) and has fared better against lefties, so he's certainly a value consideration in DFS. Dozier has started to rebound after a poor start and has hits in all but one game this month. He'll have more chances to drive in runs if he hits near the middle of the order and is a fine under-the-radar DFS pick tonight.

Twins | Robbie Grossman hitting second

Wed, 01 Jun 2016 10:40:35 -0700

Minnesota Twins OF Robbie Grossman is starting in left field and is hitting second against Oakland Athletics SP Sean Manaea Wednesday, June 1.

Fantasy Tip: It's a small sample size, but Grossman is on fire with a .361 average and two home runs and nine RBI in his first 11 games for the Twins. He's playing everyday right now and is a fine value pick in daily games while he's hot. Just don't expect this to last. Grossman has a career .246/.333/.359 slash line.

Twins | Robbie Grossman stays hot

Tue, 31 May 2016 23:44:35 -0700

Minnesota Twins OF Robbie Grossman went 3-for-4 with three doubles against the Oakland Athletics on Tuesday, May 31. Grossman is hitting .361 with two homers and eight RBIs since being recalled on May 19.

Fantasy Tip: Grossman keeps writing his name into the lineup with his play, going 10-for-32 with five extra-base hits. The 26-year-old has been a fringe contributor at best in previous major-league stints, however, and shouldn't garner any consideration outside of AL-only setups.

Twins | Miguel Sano on the bench

Sun, 22 May 2016 10:50:53 -0700

Minnesota Twins OF Miguel Sano is not in the starting lineup against Toronto Blue Jays SP Marcus Stroman Sunday, May 22. OF Oswaldo Arcia will start at right field, while OF Robbie Grossman will start in left field and is batting sixth.

Fantasy Tip: Grossman has gone 4-for-7 with one home run and three RBI over the last two games and is a decent option in some daily fantasy leagues.

Twins | Oswaldo Arcia not in the lineup

Sat, 21 May 2016 08:55:52 -0700

Minnesota Twins OF Oswaldo Arcia is not in the starting lineup against Toronto Blue Jays SP J.A. Happ Saturday, May 21. OF Robbie Grossman will start in left field and is batting sixth in the lineup.

Fantasy Tip: Grossman went 3-for-4 in his first game since being recalled and is back in the starting lineup. Grossman can be an option for desperate owners in daily fantasy leagues, but owners in most leagues should be able to find better players to use.

Twins | Oswaldo Arcia draws out against Toronto

Fri, 20 May 2016 14:27:03 -0700

Minnesota Twins OF Oswaldo Arcia is not in the starting lineup Friday, May 20. OF Robbie Grossman is starting in left field and batting seventh against Toronto Blue Jays SP Aaron Sanchez Friday.

Fantasy Tip: Arcia is struggling to find his game, but he remains a decent depth piece in deep mixed and AL-only leagues. Remember, he hit 20 home runs through just 410 plate appearances in 2014, and he is still only 25. This is Grossman's season debut, and he is nothing more than a low-priced flier in daily contests Friday.

Indians | Lonnie Chisenhall scratched

Wed, 16 Mar 2016 12:18:15 -0700

Cleveland Indians OF Lonnie Chisenhall (forearm) was scratched from Cactus League action with right forearm tightness Wednesday, March 16. OF Robbie Grossman is replacing him.

Fantasy Tip: The Tribe is likely just being cautious, but it's worth monitoring. The lefty swinging Chisenhall is set for a platoon in right field this year, which will make him mainly an AL-only contributor for fantasy owners. Chisenhall can also be a sneaky daily pick against certain righties.

Astros | George Springer returning Wednesday

Wed, 13 May 2015 08:59:37 -0700

Houston Astros OF George Springer (concussion) will return from the 7-day concussion disabled list Wednesday, May 13. He went 1-for-4 with two strikeouts in his only rehab game with Class AA Corpus Christi (Texas) Tuesday, May 12. He is hitting only .192 with four home runs and 12 RBI on the year. OF Robbie Grossman was optioned to Class AAA Fresno (Calif.) to make room for Springer on the roster.

Fantasy Tip: It's great news for Springer's ($5,100, 10.2% of cap) fantasy owners that he returned when eligible. However, you may want to hold him out of your lineups until he shows some consistency with the stick, mainly at FantasyScore.
