Blue Jays | Ezequiel Carrera draws start in RF

Wed, 27 May 2015 09:37:03 -0700

Toronto Blue Jays OF Ezequiel Carrera is starting in right field and hitting seventh in the batting order against Chicago White Sox SP Jeff Samardzija Wednesday, May 27. OF Danny Valencia will start on the bench.

Fantasy Tip: Carrera ($1,900, 3.8% of cap) should be considered a weak play at FantasyScore today against a White Sox pitcher that has come on strong of late after a poor start to the season.

Blue Jays | Ezequiel Carrera not in lineup

Sat, 23 May 2015 07:52:55 -0700

Toronto Blue Jays OF Ezequiel Carrera is not in the starting lineup Saturday, May 23. OF Danny Valencia will play in left field for the team.

Fantasy Tip: Carrera ($1,900, 3.8% of cap) is sharing time at the position and should be in the starting lineup soon. Valencia ($1,900, 3.8% of cap) is on a five-game hitting streak and has recorded four RBI in that span. Valencia could be a cheaper option for owners to consider.

Blue Jays | Josh Donaldson out of lineup Friday

Fri, 22 May 2015 11:34:13 -0700

Toronto Blue Jays 3B Josh Donaldson is not in the starting lineup Friday, May 22. Danny Valencia is at third base and is hitting seventh.

Fantasy Tip: Donaldson ($5,800, 11.6% of cap) has not had a single day off this season, so no better time than now to do it. Valencia ($1,900, 3.8% of cap) has been a fairly successful low-cost alternative, with a .350 average (7-for-20) and one home run in his last six games.

Blue Jays | Danny Valencia starting in left field

Wed, 20 May 2015 13:10:29 -0700

Toronto Blue Jays OF Danny Valencia is batting seventh and starting in left field against the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim Wednesday, May 20.

Fantasy Tip: Valencia ($1,900, 3.8% of cap) has drastic handedness splits, and he struggles against righties (.182/.217/.318 slash line this season). He is a great option against southpaws, but with Jered Weaver on the hill Wednesday, it isn't an ideal to utilize Valencia in FantasyScore contests.

Blue Jays | Danny Valencia batting sixth

Fri, 08 May 2015 13:34:10 -0700

Toronto Blue Jays 3B/OF Danny Valencia is batting sixth and playing right field against the Boston Red Sox Friday, May 8.

Fantasy Tip: Valencia ($1,900, 3.8% of cap) has mashed lefties this season, as he is currently 8-for-15 against them with a 1.200 OPS. Plus, he has a career .333/.372/.507 slash line against them. Left-hander Wade Miley has been inconsistent this season and currently has a 7.15 ERA, so Friday is a nice spot to hone in on Valencia in FantasyScore contests.

Blue Jays | Danny Valencia held out

Tue, 05 May 2015 22:21:21 -0700

Toronto Blue Jays INF Danny Valencia (ankle) was held out of the lineup Tuesday, May 5, against the New York Yankees due to a sprained ankle. The team recalled INF Chris Colabello from Triple-A Buffalo.

Fantasy Tip: Valencia ($1,900; 3.8% of cap) should be avoided in FantasyScore until he can officially return and prove his health in a full game wihtout any setbacks.

Blue Jays | Michael Saunders sitting against lefty

Thu, 30 Apr 2015 12:32:35 -0700

Toronto Blue Jays OF Michael Saunders is not in the starting lineup Thursday, April 30. OF Danny Valencia is starting in right field and hitting fifth in the batting order against Cleveland Indians SP T.J. House.

Fantasy Tip: Valencia ($1,900, 3.8% of cap) has been hitting well in the early going, batting .455 (10-for-22), and his placement near the middle of this potent lineup shouldn't be overlooked today. It also should be noted that Valencia has excelled against lefties in his career, batting .333 against them. House has been roughed up often in 2015, too.

Blue Jays | Dalton Pompey sitting Tuesday

Tue, 28 Apr 2015 11:54:26 -0700

Toronto Blue Jays OF Dalton Pompey is not in the starting lineup Tuesday, April 28. 3B Danny Valencia is starting in left field and hitting seventh in the batting order against Boston Red Sox SP Clay Buchholz.

Fantasy Tip: Valencia ($1,900, 3.8% of cap) is off to a fast start in limited duty in 2015, going 9-for-17 (.529). Despite his great start, Valencia is a low-end FantasyScore name at the hot corner against Buchholz. Valencia hit just .211 (32-for-152) with two of his four home runs against right-handers in 2014.

Blue Jays | Danny Valencia playing hot corner

Fri, 24 Apr 2015 12:57:27 -0700

Toronto Blue Jays 3B Danny Valencia is starting at third base and batting fifth against the Tampa Bay Rays Friday, April 24.

Fantasy Tip: With southpaw Drew Smyly on the hill, and making his season debut, Valencia ($1,900, 3.8% of cap) is worth a speculative dice roll in FantasyScore contests Friday. He is hitting behind the teams top four hitters, and he has a .332/.371/.508 slash line against left-handed pitchers for his career.

Blue Jays | Jose Bautista remains out

Thu, 23 Apr 2015 12:36:51 -0700

Toronto Blue Jays OF Jose Bautista (shoulder) remains out of the starting lineup Thursday, April 23. 3B Danny Valencia is starting in left field and hitting eighth in the batting order against Baltimore Orioles SP Chris Tillman.

Fantasy Tip: Valencia ($1,900, 3.8% of cap), despite being off to a good start (6-for-10), isn't attractive to FantasyScore users on this getaway day.
