Braves | Freddie Freeman on sizzling run

Mon, 20 Jun 2016 16:58:57 -0700

Atlanta Braves 1B Freddie Freeman has produced a .548/.588/1.065 line in his last seven ballgames, being 17-for-31 over that stretch with three home runs, eight RBI, six runs scored and five doubles. He also even has a stolen base.

Fantasy Tip: In the process, he's been so hot that he's raised his batting average up almost 30 points to a much more respectable .279 mark. The former All-Star is trying to maintain his standing as one of the more relevant first basemen in all of fantasy baseball despite going through what has been a lost season for the rebuilding Braves.

Braves | Four more hits for Freddie Freeman

Sun, 19 Jun 2016 13:25:10 -0700

Atlanta Braves 1B Freddie Freeman continued his campaign to be named the National League Player of the Week on Sunday, June 19, going 4-for-5 with two doubles and an RBI in a win over the New York Mets. Freeman has posted five games with at least three hits since Monday, June 13, and hit for the cycle against the Cincinnati Reds on Wednesday, June 15.

Fantasy Tip: Freeman is a scintillating 17-for-31 with two homers, a triple, five doubles, eight RBI and six runs scored over the last seven days, likely carrying many fantasy teams to wins in head-to-head leagues in the process. The red-hot slugger is obviously a strong DFS play right now and needs to be in all lineups, although it might be wise to look for other options on Tuesday when he faces Jose Fernandez and the Miami Marlins.

Braves | Freddie Freeman likes Citi Field

Fri, 17 Jun 2016 10:35:25 -0700

Atlanta Braves 1B Freddie Freeman is hitting .297 with 18 doubles, seven home runs, 34 RBI and a .360 on-base percentage and .497 slugging percentage in 49 career games at Citi Field. The Braves start a series at the New York Mets Friday, June 17.

Fantasy Tip: Freeman is one of the hottest hitters on the planet right now, hitting .315 (17-for-54) with four home runs and nine RBI this month. Start him confidently in all fantasy formats, and he's even worth the contrarian pick tonight in DFS against Matt Harvey, who's been fantastic in his last three starts after a rough spell.

Braves | Freddie Freeman keeps it going

Thu, 16 Jun 2016 15:21:49 -0700

Atlanta Braves 1B Freddie Freeman went 3-for-4 with his 12th home run of the season Thursday, June 16, against the Cincinnati Reds. He finished with two runs scored and two RBI.

Fantasy Tip: Freeman just recorded the majors' first cycle of the season on Wednesday, and he follows it up with another terrific performance to give him seven hits in his last two contests. Being one of the better first basemen in baseball, he's always worth deploying in fantasy in any format.

Braves | Freddie Freeman powering up

Thu, 16 Jun 2016 10:17:41 -0700

Atlanta Braves 1B Freddie Freeman hit his third homer in the last four days Thursday, June 16, and no other Brave has more than three homers on the season.

Fantasy Tip: Freeman had a career-worst slump to open the season, but he is beginning to turn into a shade of his former self. He has no protection in the lineup, though, which could hurt him as he continues to rekindle his groove. He's an upper-middle option at the position for now.

Braves | Freddie Freeman hits for the cycle

Wed, 15 Jun 2016 22:02:12 -0700

Atlanta Braves 1B Freddie Freeman went 4-for-7 with a single, double, triple and home run against the Cincinnati Reds on Wednesday, June 15.

Fantasy Tip: Tonight was a bright spot for Freeman, whose numbers are down in the Braves' woeful offense. Even with that, Freeman's power gives him some modest value in standard mixed leagues.

Braves | Freddie Freeman drives in three

Mon, 13 Jun 2016 22:45:57 -0700

Atlanta Braves 1B Freddie Freeman went 3-for-5 with a two-run home run, two runs scored and three RBIs Monday, June 13, against the Cincinnati Reds.

Fantasy Tip: After a tremendously slow start to the season, Freeman is up to 10 homers while improving his average to a respectable .250. He has still driven in just 21 runs, and he has a long way to go before he re-emerged as a must-start across all fantasy formats.

Braves | Freddie Freeman in for good game?

Fri, 10 Jun 2016 12:13:00 -0700

Atlanta Braves 1B Freddie Freeman is hitting .625 with two home runs and five RBI in eight at-bats in the last five years against Chicago Cubs SP Jason Hammel, who he faces Friday, June 10.

Fantasy Tip: Freeman has been a disappointment for fantasy owners this year with a .250/.345/.431 slash line, nine home runs and 17 RBI. The weak lineup around him gives him fewer chances to drive in runs. He should remain a low-end fantasy starter in most fantasy leagues, though, and he's a contrarian pick tonight in DFS because of his recent success against Hammel.

Braves | Freddie Freeman not clutch

Tue, 07 Jun 2016 09:53:58 -0700

Atlanta Braves 1B Freddie Freeman is 6-for-49 (.122) with runners in scoring position this year after he led the majors with a .376 average (35-for-93) in that category in 2015.

Fantasy Tip: This is concerning because Freeman's RBI opportunities are few and far between with not much lineup protection around him this year. He's hitting just .242 with nine home runs and 16 RBI on the season, and he's more of a low-end starting fantasy first baseman in mixed leagues in 2016.

Braves | Freddie Freeman's homer wins it

Thu, 02 Jun 2016 00:17:31 -0700

Atlanta Braves 1B Freddie Freeman hit his ninth homer of the season Wednesday, June 1, in a 5-4, 11-inning win over the San Francisco Giants.

Fantasy Tip: Freeman's numbers are slowly rebounding following a horrible start to the season. It was the same start practically the entire Atlanta team had. His average declined to .245 in May, but he had five homers and eight runs batted in. He is worth playing in all but shallow leagues as long as this power renaissance continues.
