Broncos | Mark Sanchez to receive first snaps

Wed, 27 Jul 2016 16:49:21 -0700

Denver Broncos QB Mark Sanchez will receive the first set of snaps during practice Thursday, July 28, according to head coach Gary Kubiak. He will be followed by QB Trevor Siemian and QB Paxton Lynch. Kubiak said the quarterback rotation will change each day.

Fantasy Tip: Kubiak said there is no favorite at this point, but Sanchez will be starting off the drills Thursday. Owners will need to keep an eye on the situation during preseason to see who wins the job. Sanchez and Siemian are the top candidates at this point but neither is a great fantasy option.

Broncos | Denver QBs to receive equal reps

Wed, 27 Jul 2016 12:36:10 -0700

Denver Broncos QBs Mark Sanchez, Trevor Siemian and Paxton Lynch will receive equal snaps at the start of training camp, according to head coach Gary Kubiak. Kubiak said there is no timetable on selecting a starting quarterback.

Fantasy Tip: Sanchez and Siemian appear to be the top candidates for the job and the decision likely will not come until after a few preseason games. The winner of the competition will have weapons to work with on offense but should be seen as a No. 2 quarterback in all fantasy leagues.

Broncos | Mark Sanchez named the starter?

Thu, 21 Jul 2016 06:11:12 -0700

Denver Broncos QB Mark Sanchez was endorsed as the starting quarterback to the team by head coach Gary Kubiak, according to DT Sylvester Williams.

Fantasy Tip: Sanchez is expected to compete with Trevor Siemian and Paxton Lynch. Sanchez would be a low-end QB2 in fantasy that could have upside with the number of weapons around him.

Broncos | Trevor Siemian has real shot to start

Mon, 11 Jul 2016 06:42:49 -0700

Denver Broncos QB Trevor Siemian has a legitimate chance in his battle with QB Mark Sanchez for the starting quarterback spot.

Fantasy Tip: It's probably viewed as unlikely, though. He would have very fringe QB2 value in fantasy if he won the gig.

Broncos | Denver QB battle 'even'

Wed, 06 Jul 2016 10:06:48 -0700

Denver Broncos FS T.J. Ward said the team's quarterback competition is "even" between QBs Mark Sanchez, Trevor Siemian and Paxton Lynch. "We got three guys working really hard," Ward said. "They've all worked with the 1's, 2's and 3's. We have seen them work with different receivers in the starting offense and second-string offense. I'm not sure (who will start in September). ... Sometimes you really have to see who threw the ball or who is starting with the 1's because they're pretty even."

Fantasy Tip: Sanchez has the most experience, but Siemian and Lynch are younger and have more upside at the position. The job will be decided in training camp this summer. Lynch is likely to sit and learn, leaving the competition mainly between Sanchez and Siemian. Regardless of who wins the job, neither QB should be trusted as anything more than a midrange fantasy backup.

Broncos | Mark Sanchez has to win job

Sat, 02 Jul 2016 12:26:38 -0700

Denver Broncos QB Mark Sanchez must win the starting quarterback job in training camp, according to The Denver Post's Troy Renck. Renck said he originally thought it was Sanchez's job to lose, but he still gives him a slight edge as the starter.

Fantasy Tip: Sanchez's experience and leadership probably give him an edge over Trevor Siemian and Paxton Lynch. Whoever starts, though, isn't close to a consistent fantasy starter.

Broncos | Mark Sanchez, Trevor Siemian gridlocked

Tue, 14 Jun 2016 11:44:49 -0700

Denver Broncos QBs Mark Sanchez and Trevor Siemian are "looking each other in the eye" for the starting quarterback position, according to head coach Gary Kubiak. QB Paxton Lynch is the clear No. 3 quarterback at this point.

Fantasy Tip: It was to be expected that Lynch would be on the outside looking in for his rookie season. As stated earlier, though, none of the three quarterbacks are QB1 material.

Broncos | Consistency key for Denver QBs

Tue, 14 Jun 2016 11:27:38 -0700

Denver Broncos QB Mark Sanchez still holds the starting spot for now, according to head coach Gary Kubiak. Trevor Siemian and Paxton Lynch assume the No. 2 and No. 3 positions, respectively. Kubiak did add that he's looking for the most consistent quarterback to be the starter.

Fantasy Tip: This drum has been beaten all offseason, but none of the Broncos' quarterbacks are reliable fantasy options this year. Sanchez is probably more reliable, but he's only worth a bye-week replacement start if he does start for Denver.

Broncos | Mark Sanchez performing well

Tue, 07 Jun 2016 17:47:21 -0700

Denver Broncos QB Mark Sanchez has thrown only one interception in his last six practices after throwing an interception in the first offseason workouts. He had several connections with WRs Demaryius Thomas and Emmanuel Sanders during practice Tuesday, June 7.

Fantasy Tip: Sanchez appears to be the leading candidate for the starting quarterback job but will have to earn it. Sanchez will only be a No. 2 quarterback in most fantasy leagues is he wins the starting job.

Broncos | Mark Sanchez works with starters

Tue, 07 Jun 2016 11:51:16 -0700

Denver Broncos QB Mark Sanchez worked with the first-team offense during practice Tuesday, June 7, and had a good day. QB Trevor Siemian worked with the second-team offense, while QB Paxton Lynch worked with the third team.

Fantasy Tip: Sanchez appears to be the leading candidate for the starting job at this point, but he will have to compete with Siemian and Lynch during training camp. Sanchez has had some success in the past but would only be a No. 2 fantasy quarterback if he starts.
