Bills | LeSean McCoy visits the end zone

Sat, 20 Aug 2016 16:21:34 -0700

Buffalo Bills RB LeSean McCoy was held to no yards on five carries, but he caught four passes for 58 yards - including a 13-yard touchdown - against the New York Giants on Saturday, Aug. 20.

Fantasy Tip: McCoy's rushing total is a bit sobering, but neither team did much on the ground. Still, the elusive 28-year-old is a low-end RB1 in all leagues when healthy and his ability to contribute in the passing game is a big reason why. In theory, Karlos Williams' release on Saturday should lock him "Shady" into a 20-touch-per-game workload and perhaps free up some more touchdown opportunities after he managed only five combined scores a season ago.

Bills | Reggie Bush expected to win No. 2 RB job

Sat, 20 Aug 2016 14:51:49 -0700

Buffalo Bills RB Reggie Bush has been considered the favorite to serve as the direct backup for RB LeSean McCoy since the former was signed earlier this month, even before the release of Karlos Williams, according to ESPN.com's Mike Rodak.

Fantasy Tip: This is a bit of an upset since it was thought Karlos Williams, Mike Gillislee and rookie Jonathan Williams were vying for the job. At the moment, however, only Jonathan Williams is available to compete with Bush. For now, owners need to consider Bush the handcuff to own in Buffalo and a player worthy of a late-round fantasy draft pick, especially given McCoy's recent off-field indiscretions and injury history.

Bills | Reggie Bush should mainly return

Mon, 01 Aug 2016 14:47:18 -0700

Buffalo Bills RB Reggie Bush is viewed mainly as a return man on special teams, according to general manager Doug Whaley. Bush will be with RB LeSean McCoy in some offensive sets, however.

Fantasy Tip: Bush definitely made a name for himself as a return man with the New Orleans Saints, but it gives him little fantasy value. He should only be viewed as a late-round flier in PPR leagues.

Bills | LeSean McCoy making good impression

Mon, 01 Aug 2016 12:06:12 -0700

Buffalo Bills RB LeSean McCoy impressed the coaching staff with how hard he worked during the offseason, and they expect him to have a very productive season in 2016.

Fantasy Tip: McCoy will receive a lot of touches this season since the Bills will focus more on their running game. He has rushed for at least 1,000 yards in four of his last six seasons but has more than five touchdowns in only one of his last four seasons. He should be considered a low-end No. 1 running back in all fantasy leagues.

Bills | LeSean McCoy in good shape

Fri, 29 Jul 2016 12:38:09 -0700

Buffalo Bills RB LeSean McCoy reported to training camp at 210 pounds, which is the lightest he has been in years.

Fantasy Tip: McCoy should receive plenty of work this season under head coach Rex Ryan. He recorded 895 rushing yards, 292 receiving yards and five total touchdowns in 2015 and has a good chance to improve on those stats in 2016. He should be selected in one of the first few rounds of drafts and can be a No.1 running back for owners.

Bills | LeSean McCoy will be rested

Mon, 18 Jul 2016 13:22:41 -0700

Buffalo Bills RB LeSean McCoy will play very little in the preseason, if at all, according to ESPN.com's Mike Rodak.

Fantasy Tip: This is usually the case with veteran stars that are going to see big workloads in the regular season. McCoy will receive all the touches he can handle to start the season with Karlos Williams suspended. He should be viewed as a low-end RB1 with added value in PPR leagues.

Bills | LeSean McCoy won't face discipline

Wed, 13 Jul 2016 07:27:28 -0700

Buffalo Bills RB LeSean McCoy will not be disciplined for his role in a nightclub brawl during the offseason, according to a league spokesperson.

Fantasy Tip: McCoy struggled with injuries last season, which have crept into the offseason. Now 28, and with Karlos Williams knocking on the door, Shady is more of a low-end RB1 in fantasy.

Bills | LeSean McCoy's case dismissed

Thu, 07 Jul 2016 16:10:17 -0700

Buffalo Bills RB LeSean McCoy's nightclub brawl case has officially been dismissed by the Pennsylvania Attorney General's office Thursday, July 7, according to McCoy's attorney.

Fantasy Tip: McCoy looks good to go for the 2016 season as far as off-field issues are concerned. He'll likely be limited in training camp and the preseason with an ankle ailment, but he's a low-end RB1 consideration in PPR leagues.

Bills | Trio of Buffalo RBs see important reps

Wed, 15 Jun 2016 19:07:55 -0700

Buffalo Bills RBs Mike Gillislee, James Wilder Jr. and Jonathan Williams saw the reps in practice Wednesday, June 15, with RBs LeSean McCoy and Karlos Williams sidelined. Williams was most impressive in the practice, showing surprising ability to shift direction and make defenders miss.

Fantasy Tip: McCoy and Karlos Williams are the top two backs, but the rest of the jobs behind them are wide open. We've seen before that the No. 3 back in Buffalo can be valuable, especially with McCoy's propensity for injury of late. For now, the winner of the No. 3 battle isn't worth drafting in most fantasy leagues, but watch the early-season returns and the waiver wire. Know the depth chart in case injury strikes one of the top two.

Bills | LeSean McCoy to be limited in camp

Wed, 15 Jun 2016 09:16:44 -0700

Buffalo Bills RB LeSean McCoy (ankle) is expected to have his touches limited in training camp next month, according to running backs coach Anthony Lynn. Lynn also said not to expect McCoy in for more than one or two drives in preseason games.

Fantasy Tip: McCoy has been dealing with a minor ankle ailment during offseason workouts, so that might be part of it. He's a good fit in Buffalo's run-first offense under Rex Ryan, but staying on the field was an issue for McCoy in his first year with the Bills. There remains RB1 potential, but McCoy is better taken as an RB2, especially with Karlos Williams likely to factor into the workload heavily.

Bills | LeSean McCoy does limited work

Tue, 14 Jun 2016 23:27:37 -0700

Buffalo Bills RB LeSean McCoy (ankle) did not take part in team drills at practice Tuesday, June 14, he was able to take part in individual drills and beat writer Joe Buscaglia notes that it appeared McCoy was exploding through the drills quicker than he was last week. Originally the team said McCoy was dealing with a hamstring issue, but he has actually been bothered by an ankle injury.

Fantasy Tip: An ankle injury is actually much better news than a hamstring, which could linger on. The team is being smart in limiting McCoy's workload in the spring as they try to keep him fresh for September and beyond. He still has RB1 potential, but it might be better to target him as an RB2 due to his propensity for injury and uneven play over the past couple of campaigns.

Bills | LeSean McCoy has ankle injury

Tue, 14 Jun 2016 14:15:31 -0700

Buffalo Bills RB LeSean McCoy (ankle) is dealing with an ankle injury as opposed to a previously reported hamstring injury, according to head coach Rex Ryan.

Fantasy Tip: Keep in mind that McCoy could still be suspended by the NFL for an off-field matter. For now, though, he's still worth a low-end RB1 selection if he can avoid any setbacks with the injury.

Bills | LeSean McCoy out for the week

Wed, 08 Jun 2016 16:40:47 -0700

Updating a previous report, Buffalo Bills RB LeSean McCoy (hamstring) will sit out organized team activities this week with hamstring tightness, according to head coach Rex Ryan.

Fantasy Tip: There is some risk involved with McCoy with his off-field issues and past injuries. He's still worth consideration as a low-end RB1.

Bills | LeSean McCoy sits with hamstring issue

Wed, 08 Jun 2016 10:25:29 -0700

Buffalo Bills RB LeSean McCoy (hamstring) sat out of team drills Wednesday, June 8, with hamstring tightness. The ailment isn't considered serious.

Fantasy Tip: McCoy's fantasy value is a really dicey issue right now. He has as much talent as any running back in the league, but he has had injury issues, didn't thrive in the system last year and could be disciplined by the league for an off-the-field brawl. He's not a bad low-end RB1 if you can land him as such.

Sat, 16 Apr 2016 11:37:08 -0700

Buffalo Bills RB LeSean McCoy's alleged involvement in a fight with two off-duty police offers is being reviewed by the Pennysylvania attorney general's office.

Fantasy Tip: The saga continues for McCoy, who could still be facing future discipline, including missing regular season games. This situation will need to be monitored leading up to the season, so stay tuned. If he doesn't miss any games, he deserves RB1 consideration.

Tue, 12 Apr 2016 05:46:13 -0700

Updating previous reports, Buffalo Bills RB LeSean McCoy's nightclub incident is still being reviewed by the NFL, and no decision has been made about potential league punishment, according to an NFL official.

Fantasy Tip: Shady isn't expected to be suspended and remains a midrange RB1.

Bills | LeSean McCoy unlikely to face discipline

Mon, 11 Apr 2016 11:19:00 -0700

Buffalo Bills RB LeSean McCoy is unlikely to face discipline from the NFL for his role in a nightclub altercation in Philadelphia, according to two sources with knowledge of the situation. The NFL continues to investigate the situation, but the belief is that McCoy won't be suspended. A lack of evidence in the case is working in McCoy's favor.

Fantasy Tip: Nothing is official yet, but this looks like great news for McCoy and the Bills. If he is cleared of any suspension from the NFL, McCoy should be a solid midrange RB1 with more value in point-per-reception formats.

Mon, 04 Apr 2016 08:07:02 -0700

Updating an ongoing story, Buffalo Bills RB LeSean McCoy won't be charged in the nightclub incident, according to Philly.com.

Fantasy Tip: McCoy could still face league discipline, and you should continue to monitor the midrange RB1 through the offseason.

Bills | Buffalo planning without LeSean McCoy

Tue, 23 Feb 2016 16:36:18 -0800

Buffalo Bills RB LeSean McCoy could miss several games to start the 2016 season and the Bills are planning as if that is the case. The investigation regarding a night club brawl in which McCoy was allegedly involved is ongoing. An arrest warrant could still be issued for McCoy.

Fantasy Tip: As of now, Karlos Williams, Anthony Dixon and Mike Gillislee would take over for McCoy if he were to be suspended. Williams played tremendously in his rookie season despite McCoy starting. Williams' value would see a sizable increase if McCoy missed significant time.

Bills | LeSean McCoy to meet with attorney

Tue, 23 Feb 2016 10:32:10 -0800

Buffalo Bills RB LeSean McCoy is set to meet with the district attorney over a nightclub incident earlier this month in Philadelphia Tuesday, Feb. 23. Last week there were reports that the district attorney's office wasn't ready to issue an arrest warrant for McCoy because of questions about the officer's conduct during the incident.

Fantasy Tip: Even if McCoy isn't charged in this incident, he could still face discipline from the NFL for the 2016 season. That immediately makes him much riskier in fantasy drafts this fall, but stay tuned to what happens. Karlos Williams would become much more valuable if McCoy faces a suspension.

Bills | LeSean McCoy situation coming to a head

Wed, 17 Feb 2016 19:21:56 -0800

The attorney for Buffalo Bills RB LeSean McCoy said his client "did nothing wrong" in a Feb. 7 brawl that sent two off-duty policemen to the hospital. No charges have been filed in the incident, which also involves three other men who were with McCoy and a third off-duty cop. "We continue to investigate," a spokesman for the Philadelphia District Attorney's Office said Wednesday, Feb. 17. A source close to the investigation said the district attorney's office would likely hold a press conference Thursday, Feb. 18, or "Friday at the latest."

Fantasy Tip: The situation appears close to being resolved, and we'll get a better idea if Shady is going to face any prosecution for his role in the incident. Right now it's too early to tell what, if any, affect this will have on his fantasy value in 2016.

Bills | LeSean McCoy decision next week

Fri, 12 Feb 2016 09:17:30 -0800

Updating an ongoing story, Buffalo Bills RB LeSean McCoy could face charges next week, and he was definitely involved in the nightclub incident Sunday, Feb. 7, according to Philadelphia police captain Frank Banford. An arrest warrant could be issued before Wednesday, Feb. 17, according to a source. McCoy's attorney, Larry Krasner, said that McCoy will turn himself in if he's charged.

Fantasy Tip: McCoy could face league discipline whether he's charged or not, and his midrange RB1 status could be in jeopardy entering drafts.

Bills | Charges coming for LeSean McCoy

Thu, 11 Feb 2016 16:41:20 -0800

Updating previous reports, Buffalo Bills RB LeSean McCoy will be facing charges for an alleged nightclub assault he was involved in Sunday, Feb. 7. McCoy is part of an ongoing investigation and the district attorney's office wanted to be thorough before it determined possible charges. McCoy's lawyer said the running back would turn himself in if he is charged.

Fantasy Tip: This incident seems likely to turn into a suspension for McCoy. If he is suspended, his fantasy value would obviously suffer. Otherwise, he remains an RB1. Look to snag Karlos Williams in the middle rounds as a nice insurance policy.

Bills | No LeSean McCoy decision Thursday

Thu, 11 Feb 2016 07:20:50 -0800

Updating an ongoing story, Buffalo Bills RB LeSean McCoy isn't expected to be served a warrant for his arrest Thursday, Feb. 11, a high-ranking police official told ESPN's Mark Schwarz. McCoy is part of an investigation into an alleged nightclub assault against off-duty police officers Sunday, Feb. 7.

Fantasy Tip: McCoy's fantasy value would take a hit if he's punished by the league. He's a midrange RB1 right now, but continue to monitor this story through the offseason.

Updating a previous report, Buffalo Bills RB LeSean McCoy might be served with a self-surrender by midweek, law enforcement sources in Philadelphia said Tuesday, Feb. 9.

Fantasy Tip: McCoy was involved in an altercation in Philadelphia which sent two off-duty police officers to the hospital last weekend. His fantasy value is up in the air heading into the offseason and will not be determined until this situation is hashed out.

Tue, 09 Feb 2016 14:04:39 -0800

Buffalo Bills RB LeSean McCoy's case was investigated by police and has been turned over to the district attorney's office, which is reviewing it for potential charges. McCoy was allegedly involved in an altercation that sent two off-duty police officers to a Philadelphia area hospital last weekend.

Fantasy Tip: McCoy could face a possible suspension if he ends up being charged. That would still be a ways down the road, however. If McCoy isn't charged and doesn't miss any playing time, he remains a RB1 candidate for fantasy drafts.

Bills | LeSean McCoy involved in fight

Mon, 08 Feb 2016 09:45:33 -0800

Buffalo Bills RB LeSean McCoy and a former RB Curtis Brinkley were in an altercation that sent two off-duty police officers to a Philadelphia area hospital over the weekend, according to multiple reports. One of the officers possibly has a fractured skull. The dispute started over a bottle of champagne. None of the men were arrested, but police are seeking arrest warrants.

The Bills released this statement: "We are aware of the reports regarding LeSean McCoy and are in the process of gathering more information. We will not provide any further comment at this time."

Fantasy Tip: Police are looking into the matter further, but this could easily lead to a suspension for McCoy to begin the 2016 season. Stay tuned for more information on the incident. If McCoy is suspended, his fantasy price will drop drastically and Karlos Williams will be an intriguing middle-rounds target.

Buffalo Bills RB LeSean McCoy (knee) won't practice Wednesday, Dec. 30, and "it doesn't look good" for him to play in Week 17, according to head coach Rex Ryan.

Fantasy Tip: Karlos Williams ($5,300, 10.6% of cap) would be a solid play against the New York Jets on FantasyScore.

Mon, 28 Dec 2015 11:16:20 -0800

Buffalo Bills RB LeSean McCoy (knee) is in wait-and-see mode as to whether or not he'll be able to play in Week 17, according to head coach Rex Ryan.

Fantasy Tip: The Bills may not want to rush McCoy back since they won't be making the playoffs and since Karlos Williams and Mike Gillislee have played well in his place. He'll need to be monitored throughout the week, of course, but he could be limited even if he plays.

Fri, 25 Dec 2015 16:07:10 -0800

Buffalo Bills RB LeSean McCoy (knee) and TE Charles Clay (back) did not participate in practice Friday, Dec. 25, and have been ruled out for the Week 16 game against the Dallas Cowboys.

Fantasy Tip: Karlos Williams ($3,000, 6.0% of cap) and Chris Gragg ($1,700, 3.4% of cap) probably will receive starts because of the injuries. Williams could be a solid starting option for owners on FantasyScore because of his cheaper option. Owners probably should pass on Gragg in all leagues.

Bills | LeSean McCoy, Charles Clay not at practice

Thu, 24 Dec 2015 12:28:27 -0800

Buffalo Bills RB LeSean McCoy (knee) and TE Charles Clay (back) both did not practice Thursday, Dec. 24. It was McCoy's second straight missed practice, while Clay sat out after being limited Wednesday, Dec. 23.

Fantasy Tip: McCoy ($7,200, 14.4% of cap) isn't expected to play. Stay away from him. Karlos Williams ($3,000, 6.0% of cap) should see most of the carries out of the backfield against a horrible run D in the Dallas Cowboys. Williams is a great value pick on FantasyScore. It's puzzling that Clay ($4,300, 8.6% of cap) sat out after practicing yesterday. In any event, it doesn't look good for his chances of playing. He's too risky of a daily option.

Buffalo Bills RB LeSean McCoy (knee) is out of practice Wednesday, Dec. 23.

Fantasy Tip: It's hard to see Shady suiting up against the Dallas Cowboys this week with a sprained MCL in his knee. Karlos Williams ($3,000, 6.0% of cap) could be an impact play on FantasyScore this week.

Updating previous reports, Buffalo Bills RB LeSean McCoy (knee) is considered week-to-week after suffering a medial collateral ligament sprain in Week 15 against the Washington Redskins, according to a source. He is scheduled for more tests Monday, Dec. 21.

Fantasy Tip: Again, Karlos Williams and Mike Gillislee will take over duties in Buffalo's backfield. Williams will probably start, but Gillislee shouldn't be overlooked on FantasyScore after a solid Week 15 outing.

Bills | LeSean McCoy's status in doubt

Mon, 21 Dec 2015 11:13:38 -0800

Updating a previous report, Buffalo Bills RB LeSean McCoy (knee) is in doubt to play in Week 16 against the Dallas Cowboys after suffering a medial collateral ligament sprain Sunday, Dec. 20. He is expected to play in Week 17, however.

Fantasy Tip: With McCoy's status in doubt, Karlos Williams and Mike Gillislee will take over in the Bills' backfield. Williams should see more opportunities, but Gillislee performed well yesterday and should see a good amount of playing time. Both are worth a look on FantasyScore for Week 16.

Bills | LeSean McCoy has MCL sprain

Mon, 21 Dec 2015 10:43:50 -0800

Updating a previous report, Buffalo Bills RB LeSean McCoy (knee) suffered a minor medial collateral ligament sprain of his knee in Week 15 and is believed to be day-to-day, according to a source.

Fantasy Tip: MCL sprains typically require a week or two of rest. We would expect McCoy to have to sit out at least in Week 16, especially now that Buffalo has been eliminated from playoff contention. Karlos Williams should see the majority of the touches in Week 16 against the Dallas Cowboys -- a great matchup, Mike Gillislee looked good filling in last weekend, though, and he could be worth sleeper consideration as a flex on FantasyScore if McCoy sits.

Buffalo Bills RB LeSean McCoy (knee) is scheduled to undergo an MRI on the knee injury he suffered during the team's Week 15 game, according to head coach Rex Ryan.

Fantasy Tip: McCoy was not able to return after suffering the injury, so his status for Week 16 against the Dallas Cowboys is uncertain at this point. McCoy would be a solid starting option if he is active for the game. Karlos Williams likely would start if McCoy is not able to play and could be a starting option for owners.

Bills | LeSean McCoy out for game

Sun, 20 Dec 2015 12:10:51 -0800

Buffalo Bills RB LeSean McCoy (knee) is out for the remainder of the game against the Washington Redskins.

Fantasy Tip: Mike Gillislee looks to be the go-to running back now. He scored a 60-yard touchdown after replacing McCoy, plus Anthony Dixon was injured earlier, too. As with any injury, look for an update on McCoy during and after the game.

Sun, 13 Dec 2015 14:04:43 -0800

Buffalo Bills RB LeSean McCoy rushed for 75 yards on 20 carries against the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 14. He also caught four passes for 35 yards during the game.

Fantasy Tip: McCoy has rushed for at least 70 yards in the last six games but has only two rushing touchdowns during that span. McCoy will continue to be a factor in the running and passing game and should be a solid starting option in Week 15.

Bills | LeSean McCoy playing lighter

Mon, 07 Dec 2015 15:45:51 -0800

Buffalo Bills RB LeSean McCoy has been lighter this year compared to last, and the Bills are getting creative with their play calling in order to give him plenty of one-on-one opportunities. With extra dieting and conditioning, McCoy has been able to "maintain his quickness" this season. He's lost at least 10 pounds from last season and is down to 206 pounds. Running backs coach Anthony Lynn also wants McCoy attacking more to get vertical quicker when he sees holes open up.

Fantasy Tip: The Bills have successfully gotten back to their ground-and-pound ways thanks to a healthy and consistent McCoy. As long as Buffalo continues to give McCoy plenty of opportunities, he should be a safe play for fantasy owners, especially in point-per-reception formats like FantasyScore. In Week 14 against his previous team, the Philadelphia Eagles, McCoy should be an attractive option.

Bills | LeSean McCoy has been steady

Mon, 07 Dec 2015 14:52:18 -0800

Buffalo Bills RB LeSean McCoy went for over 100 yards in the Week 13 win over the Houston Texans, and he has now gone for 100-plus yards from scrimmage in six straight games. His performances of late have come against solid rush defenses, too, including the Texans, New England Patriots and Kansas City Chiefs.

Fantasy Tip: McCoy has been as steady as they come for fantasy owners down the stretch, and that could easily continue against a Philadelphia Eagles defense that allows 24.3 PPR fantasy points to running backs per game this year. McCoy will be extra motivated in this one, too, after being traded away from Philly in the offseason.

Sun, 06 Dec 2015 14:41:43 -0800

Buffalo Bills RB LeSean McCoy rushed for 112 yards on 21 carries against the Houston Texans in Week 13.

Fantasy Tip: McCoy has averaged at least four yards per carry in four of his last five games and has rushed for 112 yards in three of the last six games. He will have a favorable matchup against the Philadelphia Eagles and should be a starting option.

Updating a previous report, Buffalo Bills RB LeSean McCoy (head) was able to return to the team's Week 13 game after he was cleared during the concussion protocol.

Fantasy Tip: McCoy was able to return to the game and should be fine moving forward, but owners should still keep an eye out on the situation. McCoy should be a starting option for fantasy owners against most opponents.

Bills | LeSean McCoy in protocol

Sun, 06 Dec 2015 12:05:13 -0800

Buffalo Bills RB LeSean McCoy (concussion) left early in Week 13 and has begun the concussion protocol.

Fantasy Tip: The Bills were already down Karlos Williams, so Mike Gillislee and Anthony Dixon will take over running back duties today. McCoy should really be tracked this week to see how he progresses through the concussion protocol.

Bills | LeSean McCoy on the rise

Wed, 02 Dec 2015 10:03:41 -0800

Buffalo Bills RB LeSean McCoy has run for 514 yards and has averaged 4.7 yards per carry in his last six games. He's recorded more than 100 yards from scrimmage in each of the last five games.

Fantasy Tip: It's hard not to like McCoy ($7,400, 14.8% of cap) as at least a flex play on FantasyScore on a weekly basis the way he's been producing and touching the rock often. The Houston Texans defense is only getting stronger, so many will likely shy away from Shady this weekend. However, he isn't a terrible option because of his typical heavy workload.

Bills | LeSean McCoy succeeding in Buffalo

Tue, 24 Nov 2015 16:28:47 -0800

Buffalo Bills RB LeSean McCoy already has more rushing yards in 2015 (610) than Buffalo's leading rusher, Seattle Seahawks RB Fred Jackson, did last year (525), and McCoy has only played in eight games this season.

Fantasy Tip: McCoy has played pretty consistently when he has been healthy this year. His ceiling has been lowered, though, with Karlos Williams also making an impact, especially in the end zone. McCoy has a tough test this week, though, as the Kansas City Chiefs have only allowed five rushing touchdowns to running backs all season and only yield 81.2 rushing yards per game to the position.
