Packers | Jared Cook has high ankle sprain

Tue, 27 Sep 2016 05:41:57 -0700

Updating previous reports, Green Bay Packers TE Jared Cook (ankle) has a high ankle sprain that could cost him some time.

Fantasy Tip: The Packers have a bye in Week 4, but Cook and counterpart Richard Rodgers are only fringe options to own in fantasy at this point.

Packers | Jared Cook's injury not season-ending

Mon, 26 Sep 2016 10:08:27 -0700

Green Bay Packers TE Jared Cook (ankle) was spotted on crutches and in a boot after being carted to the locker room during a Week 3 win over the Detroit Lions. The team is still the process of determining whether Cook will be sidelined for multiple weeks or whether he'll be able to return after Green Bay's bye in Week 4.

Fantasy Tip: Cook was a few inches away on a pair of targets from having an explosive first half versus the Lions, including the play which resulted in his injury when a defender rolled up on him on the downhill throw. Still, it will be hard for even the most fervent Cook owners to hold him now, especially if he is forced to miss multiple weeks. Richard Rodgers should become a near full-time player in Cook's absence and should be considered a streaming option in Week 5 versus the New York Giants.

Packers | Jared Cook ruled out

Sun, 25 Sep 2016 12:59:33 -0700

Green Bay Packers TE Jared Cook (ankle) did not return to his team's game Sunday, Sept. 25, against the Detroit Lions due to an ankle injury.

Fantasy Tip: Keep an eye on this situation and how it looks for Cook moving forward. Richard Rodgers could benefit from increased playing time if Cook can't go next week.

Packers | Jared Cook waiting for his chance

Sat, 17 Sep 2016 10:45:49 -0700

Green Bay Packers TE Jared Cook is unconcerned about his lack of Week 1 production and suggested some of the plays that were called for him against the Jacksonville Jaguars were scrapped because the Jaguars provided safety help over the top, opening up chances for teammates. "It's fun, man. It's hard for the defense to be right, you know? It's hard for them to single out one guy and go after one guy, or single out two guys and go out two guys. It's a fun offense to be a part of because any given day, or any given Sunday, anybody is going to get off," Cook said.

Fantasy Tip: Despite his lackluster Week 1 showing, Cook remains a strong hold as a high-upside TE2 in an offense that views him as the downfield threat it hasn't had since Jermichael Finley. Owners can expect another slow game versus the Minnesota Vikings this week, but he has mouthwatering matchups versus the Detroit Lions and New York Giants over the next two weeks.

Packers | Jared Cook gets comfortable with QB

Tue, 23 Aug 2016 18:56:08 -0700

Green Bay Packers TE Jared Cook will play his first preseason game with QB Aaron Rodgers Friday, Aug. 26, against the San Francisco 49ers. The two have developed a rapport with one another since Cook came off the Physically Unable to Perform (PUP) list Aug. 9.

Fantasy Tip: Cook is behind Richard Rodgers on the depth chart, so fantasy owners can leave him to the waiver wire into the regular season. However, he still has plenty left in the tank and could be a key contributor if Richard Rodgers suffers some sort of long-term injury.

Packers | Jared Cook impresses in first practice

Tue, 09 Aug 2016 23:52:38 -0700

Green Bay Packers TE Jared Cook (foot) made a positive impression during his first training camp action, hauling in several impressive grabs in practice on Tuesday, Aug. 9.

Fantasy Tip: Signed to a free-agent deal during the offseason, Cook is competing with holdover Richard Rodgers for the No. 1 tight end job. If he can outlast Rodgers, Cook would be an interesting reserve with upside.

Packers | Jared Cook returns from PUP list

Tue, 09 Aug 2016 15:25:41 -0700

Green Bay Packers TE Jared Cook (foot) has been cleared and is coming off the Physically Unable to Perform list Tuesday, Aug. 9, according to a source.

Fantasy Tip: Green Bay's tight end situation still isn't set in stone with Cooks' return. Richard Rodgers and Cook will battle for the starting position. Whoever wins the job could make for a nice sleeper this year, but shouldn't be viewed as a starting fantasy tight end.

Packers | Jared Cook nearing a return

Sun, 07 Aug 2016 18:41:18 -0700

Green Bay Packers TE Jared Cook (foot) might return from the Physically Unable to Perform (PUP) list next week, QB Aaron Rodgers said Sunday, Aug. 7.

Fantasy Tip: Cook will be behind Richard Rodgers on the depth chart, so his fantasy appeal is limited to the deepest of formats unless Rodgers suffers some sort of long-term injury.

Packers | No timetable for Jared Cook

Tue, 26 Jul 2016 22:58:27 -0700

Green Bay Packers TE Jared Cook (foot) does not have a timetable for a return from foot surgery, although a league source said Tuesday, July 26, that he might be on track to return by the second week of preseason.

Fantasy Tip: Cook is behind Richard Rodgers on the depth chart, and not expected to be a fantasy target for most owners unless Rodgers suffers some sort of a long-term injury.

Packers | Some Packers may not practice

Mon, 25 Jul 2016 11:19:27 -0700

Green Bay Packers WR Jordy Nelson (knee) and TE Jared Cook (foot) and others may initially be held out of training camp practices.

Fantasy Tip: It would behoove the Packers to take it easy with Nelson, who is coming off a torn anterior cruciate ligament. If Nelson doesn't suffer any setbacks, though, he's primed for another WR1 season. Meanwhile, it's still unclear if Cook will be starting at tight end for Green Bay. Richard Rodgers could take that spot, but neither should be pursued as a fantasy starter.
