Miami Dolphins WR Mike Wallace said he wants the offense to change to use the deep ball more in 2014. "We have to," Wallace said. "Definitely have got to get the deep ball going. That's the difference between winning and losing a couple games. I should have had 15 or 20 more touchdowns. And that's being modest. If you press me, you have no shot to cover me. Once I get you to stop your feet, it's over."

Miami Dolphins WR Mike Wallace had seven catches for 82 yards and a touchdown in the team's Week 13 win over the New York Jets. Wallace has 12 grabs for 209 yards and two touchdowns over the last two weeks. "This is the time when you've got to be the best you can be," Wallace said. "It's December. I've had enough time to get adjusted. It's the time for me to be the player I know I am, no matter (what). Just block out everything and play football."
Fantasy Tip: Wallace should be in most starting lineups on a weekly basis. He'll likely draw Ike Taylor in the Week 14 matchup against the Pittsburgh Steelers. It finally appears as though Wallace and Ryan Tannehill are on the same page.

Thu, 21 Nov 2013 15:10:38 -0800
Miami Dolphins WR Mike Wallace (hamstring) was limited in practice Thursday, Nov. 21.

He is disappointed that the things he did with the Pittsburgh Steelers for four years have not translated to success with his new team. Offensive coordinator Mike Sherman thinks Wallace is coming around. "I thought Mike had a tremendous ball game," Sherman said of Wallace's Week 11 performance against the San Diego Chargers.

Fri, 15 Nov 2013 13:32:04 -0800
Miami Dolphins WR Mike Wallace (hamstring) was limited during practice Friday, Nov. 15, and is listed as questionable for Week 11.
Fantasy Tip: Wallace has been limited over the last two days, so owners will have to wait for the inactive list to see if he will be able to play. If he is able to play, he should be considered a solid starter for owners this week.
Thu, 14 Nov 2013 14:43:28 -0800
Miami Dolphins WR Mike Wallace (hamstring) was limited in practice Thursday, Nov. 14.
Fantasy Tip: This doesn't look to be a serious injury, but keep an eye on Wallace's status tomorrow. He's a solid WR3 against a San Diego Chargers defense that gives up plenty of points through the air.
Mon, 11 Nov 2013 21:07:48 -0800
Miami Dolphins WR Mike Wallace had four receptions for 15 yards in the Week 10 game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers Monday, Nov. 11. He was targeted seven times.

QB Ryan Tannehill is just 7-for-26 on passes of 20 yards or more, with two touchdowns and four interceptions. Wallace said he's still not completely accustomed to playing with Tannehill, even though they've worked together since May.
Thu, 24 Oct 2013 10:07:39 -0700
New England Patriots CB Aqib Talib (hip) practiced in a limited fashion Wednesday, Oct. 23, but he did not look close to 100 percent healthy while battling through his hip flexor strain. The ailment is the same issue that hampered him at the end of last season.
Fantasy Tip: Right now, things don't look good for Talib. He's been one of the league's best cover corners this year, too. Mike Wallace and the Miami Dolphins passing attack could thrive if Talib isn't on the field.
Sun, 06 Oct 2013 21:41:21 -0700
Miami Dolphins WR Mike Wallace hauled in seven balls for 105 yards in the Week 5 game against the Baltimore Ravens, but he also had at least two dropped passes.
Fantasy Tip: Wallace's production has been up and down, but he remains a useful low-end WR2 or must-start WR3 in most fantasy formats.
Wed, 02 Oct 2013 20:14:46 -0700
Miami Dolphins WR Mike Wallace has lined up on the right side 90 percent of the time so far this season, rather than moving around and seeing time in the slot.
Fantasy Tip: There was word that Wallace would be moved around, seeing time in the slot, but that has yet to materialize so far. He remains a decent low-end WR2 or flex fantasy play, but has the potential to do so much more.
Sun, 22 Sep 2013 07:17:21 -0700
Miami Dolphins WR Mike Wallace (groin) is expected to play in the team's Week 3 game.

Fri, 20 Sep 2013 15:53:39 -0700
Miami Dolphins WR Mike Wallace (groin), who was limited in practice Friday, Sept. 20, and is listed as questionable for Week 3 against the Atlanta Falcons, appeared to be moving around fine after practice.
Fantasy Tip: Wallace was listed as a full practice participant Thursday, even though the team didn't officially practice. We expect Wallace to give it a shot and play on Sunday, but he may not be 100 percent. As long as Wallace is on the field, he should be in your starting lineup.
Fri, 20 Sep 2013 14:38:30 -0700
Miami Dolphins WR Mike Wallace (groin) was limited in practice Friday, Sept. 20, and is questionable for Week 3.

Tue, 17 Sep 2013 20:13:40 -0700
Miami Dolphins WR Mike Wallace was grumpy after Week 1 when he managed just one reception, but after his big stat line in Week 2, he is suddenly bubbly. "I was the deep guy there (in Pittsburgh). But I always want to show people I can do more than deep routes. So this is fun for me," Wallace said. He has lined up in the slot, and is allowed to move around more.
Fantasy Tip: Week 1 was certainly an anomaly, so hopefully his fantasy owners didn't panic too much. He will have a lot better chance to rack up more catches, perhaps not for as big of an average yards per catch as we have seen in the past, but his targets will certainly be up.
Thu, 12 Sep 2013 17:58:04 -0700
Miami Dolphins QB Ryan Tannehill said the team wants to throw the ball to WR Mike Wallace but will not force throws to him. "I'm going to play the quarterback position the way the coaches install the plays," Tannehill said. "I'm going to go through the reads just like they install it. We're going to try and get him the ball when he's in the play, but we're not going to force him the ball."
Fantasy Tip: Wallace did not get many targets in the team's Week 1 game but should get more throws going his way as the season goes on. He should be considered a starter in most weeks but likely will be more like a No. 2 receiver.
Mon, 09 Sep 2013 10:49:18 -0700
Updating a previous report, Miami Dolphins WR Mike Wallace was unhappy with not being targeted in the first half of the team's Week 1 game and finishing the game with only four targets. Wallace did not talk after the game because he did not want to throw the coaches under the bus.
Sun, 08 Sep 2013 19:19:18 -0700
Miami Dolphins WR Mike Wallace refused to speak to reporters after the Week 1 win against the Cleveland Browns after managing just one catch for 15 yards in his team debut. "Ask coach," Wallace said about how he was used. "It's not my game plan."
Fantasy Tip: Ut-oh. Trouble in paradise? Already? Wallace signed a huge contract in the offseason, but he did little in his team debut. Fantasy owners will still want to keep him active in Week 2 and hope for better results against the Indianapolis Colts.
Wed, 14 Aug 2013 17:33:49 -0700
The Miami Dolphins have used an empty backfield setup with five players lined up as receivers, including WRs Mike Wallace and Brian Hartline, RB Lamar Miller, TE Dustin Keller and either WR Brandon Gibson or TE Charles Clay. The team even practiced with that grouping in goal line situations. "That surprised me and I'm on the team," Wallace said. "If we can do that, we'll keep catching teams off guard and get a lot of mismatches we want."
Wed, 14 Aug 2013 17:28:47 -0700
Miami Dolphins general manager Jeff Ireland said in a radio interview Wednesday, Aug. 14, that WR Mike Wallace has show some "explosiveness" over the past couple of days. "That's been nice to see. He's been hampered by a couple things in the last couple weeks. He's very good in the offseason, works his tail off," Ireland said.

Wed, 24 Jul 2013 18:05:34 -0700
The Miami Dolphins plan to use WR Mike Wallace in more ways than his previous team, the Pittsburgh Steelers, did. "I will be inside a little more," Wallace said Wednesday, July 24. Offensive coordinator Mike Sherman "wants to switch us around a lot more where people can't key on you." Through four days of camp, most of his receptions have come on out patterns and slants.
Fantasy Tip: Wallace has been a bit of a disappointment during camp, but it is extremely early, and he is adjusting to new teammates and surroundings. He will be a Top 20 fantasy receiver with plenty of big plays downfield just like his days in Pittsburgh, but his work inside might give him some extra grabs to help his fantasy value in points per reception (PPR) leagues, too.
Wed, 24 Jul 2013 11:16:08 -0700
Miami Dolphins WR Mike Wallace hasn't impressed anyone during offseason team activities or so far in training camp, and he hasn't shown good chemistry with QB Ryan Tannehill, either. Wallace has been dropping passes and doesn't consistently run full speed in practices, and he hasn't connected on a long pass in 11-on-11 drills with Tannehill all offseason.
Fantasy Tip: It's still way early in training camp to be declaring Wallace a bust with his new squad. He's been known to take plays off in the past, too, so this doesn't come as a complete surprise. He has the rest of training camp to develop chemistry with Tannehill. We see Wallace as more of a WR2 that's more valuable in standard formats.
Wed, 24 Jul 2013 10:16:54 -0700
Miami Dolphins QB Ryan Tannehill and WR Mike Wallace have been working on their chemistry during the first few practices of training camp. Wallace has been catching a lot of passes on out routes and slants.
Fantasy Tip: Tannehill and Wallace have plenty of time before the season starts to build up chemistry. Tannehill should be considered a No. 2 fantasy quarterback while Wallace is a solid to low-end No. 2 receiver.
Sun, 07 Jul 2013 08:53:36 -0700
Miami Dolphins WR Mike Wallace has worked on improving his route running this offseason because he wants to show he is more than a deep threat.
Mon, 01 Jul 2013 16:14:40 -0700
Miami Dolphins WR Mike Wallace is just as good with short routes as he is with deep passes. CB Brent Grimes said he is not a one trick pony. "It's not, 'If I can't get the deep ball, I can't do anything else,'" Grimes said. "He has good hands, can run other routes. He's not a one-trick pony."
Sun, 02 Jun 2013 19:13:56 -0700
Miami Dolphins general manager Jeff Ireland predicted QB Ryan Tannehill "is going to make a big jump this year." Tannehill will be entering his second NFL season, and the team added plenty of weapons to help that jump, including WR Mike Wallace and TE Dustin Keller. "He has a lot of room to grow. He's brilliantly smart. The upside is tremendous," Ireland said.
Fantasy Tip: With so many new weapons, Tannehill might be on his way up fantasy cheat sheets heading into his sophomore season in the NFL. Still, he should be counted on as a No. 2 fantasy option who could surprise and occasionally start for his owners when their primary option has a difficult matchup or by
Wed, 29 May 2013 11:50:55 -0700
Miami Dolphins WR Mike Wallace (personal) did not participate in organized team activities Wednesday, May 29, because of a family emergency.
Mon, 27 May 2013 10:38:44 -0700
Miami Dolphins WR Mike Wallace said everyone on the team wants to get better and win games, noting it was different when he played for the Pittsburgh Steelers.
"In Pittsburgh, I knew I was [in] a six-month lease every time, a furnished apartment," Wallace said last week. "I'd just bring my bag and be ready to go. Down here, I have to buy me a house, get settled in. Everybody has a college mentality around here," Wallace added. It's a lot different than where I came from. Everybody's hungry. Everybody wants to get better, get to where we need to be - that's a winning record."
Tue, 21 May 2013 11:26:00 -0700
Miami Dolphins QB Ryan Tannehill was sharp during organized team activities Tuesday, May 21. Tannehill had big passes to WRs Brian Hartline and Mike Wallace. TE Dustin Keller was impressed with Tannehill's first practice. "You would think a guy who used to play wide receiver the best thing he does is run the ball," Keller said. "But he puts the ball right on the money and he's a good decision maker, as well."
Wed, 15 May 2013 12:31:58 -0700
Miami Dolphins WR Mike Wallace said he does not think building chemistry with QB Ryan Tannehill will be too difficult and expects the chemistry to be fine once training camp begins. Wallace said he works with Tannehill after each practice.
Fantasy Tip: Wallace has been a solid producer since entering the league and should be the main target in the Dolphins' passing game this season. He likely will be an every-week starter in fantasy leagues this season. Tannehill has the potential to be a solid backup in fantasy because of the additions on offense.
Wed, 24 Apr 2013 05:59:34 -0700
Miami Dolphins WR Brian Hartline said he believes the team has a "championship offense" following the additions of WRs Mike Wallace and Brandon Gibson, as well as TE Dustin Keller in the offseason. "I think we got every move we needed to make," Hartline said. "We probably could add some depth at certain positions, but we've got all the pieces to the car, now we've just got to put it altogether."
Mon, 15 Apr 2013 05:43:47 -0700
Miami Dolphins WR Mike Wallace reported for voluntary workouts Monday, April 15.
Sun, 17 Mar 2013 18:00:26 -0700
Updating a previous report, Miami Dolphins WR Davone Bess is not immediately in danger of being cut despite the team's adding of free-agent WRs Brandon Gibson and Mike Wallace, as well as the re-signing of WR Brian Hartline.
Fantasy Tip: Bess could stick around, but his fantasy value takes a huge hit with all of those talented receivers joining the fray. Bess has been arguing the No. 1 or 2 wideout in Miami for the past couple of years, but he is likely to see much less of the field as long as those others remain healthy. Heading into Draft Day, he is likely to go unpicked in a majority of leagues if his situation remains the same.
