Ravens | Mike Wallace targeted 10 times

Sun, 20 Nov 2016 17:03:56 -0800

Baltimore Ravens WR Mike Wallace has managed five receptions for 62 yards on 10 targets in the Week 11 game against the Dallas Cowboys.

Fantasy Tip: Wallace has taken a step back over the past two games, and it is no coincidence with Steve Smith back healthy again and posting 13 catches for 159 yards and two touchdowns over the past two games. Wallace should be treated as more of a low-end WR3 heading into Week 12 against the Cincinnati Bengals.

Sun, 06 Nov 2016 14:13:15 -0800

Baltimore Ravens WR Mike Wallace caught four passes for 124 yards, including a 95-yard touchdown catch from QB Joe Flacco, in a 21-14 win over the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday, Nov. 6.

Fantasy Tip: Take away the long score and Wallace's numbers plummet. Still, Wallace is establishing himself as one of Flacco's desired targets, so he should get consideration in fantasy leagues.

Ravens | Mike Wallace productive in loss

Sun, 16 Oct 2016 17:18:50 -0700

Baltimore Ravens WR Mike Wallace (chest, ribs) posted four receptions for 97 yards in the Week 6 game against the New York Giants. He was targeted nine times, and his biggest play came on a 70-yard reception.

Fantasy Tip: Wallace has been productive out of the slot, reviving his career in Baltimore while jelling nicely with Joe Flacco. The two haven't combined for any scoring plays since Week 2, but Wallace has at least three grabs in all six of his games and a total of 160 yards over his past two outings. He is a solid WR3 in most fantasy leagues heading into Week 7 against a shaky New York Jets pass defense.

Ravens | Mike Wallace listed as questionable

Fri, 14 Oct 2016 12:46:55 -0700

Baltimore Ravens WR Mike Wallace (chest) is being listed as questionable for the team's Week 6 game Sunday, Oct. 16, opposite the New York Giants.

Fantasy Tip: Wallace will have a prime opportunity if he's able to suit up, as veteran teammate Steve Smith is being considered doubtful to play in Sunday's contest. If both end up on the sidelines, then 2015 standout Kamar Aiken would get a huge boost and flirt with WR3 potential.

Baltimore Ravens WR Mike Wallace caught seven passes for 63 yards against the Washington Redskins in Week 5.

Baltimore Ravens WR Mike Wallace was fined $9,115 by the National Football League for a taunting penalty during Week 4's game against the Oakland Raiders, after celebrating a catch on a successful two-point conversion attempt.

Fantasy Tip: Wallace should be viewed as a WR4 or flex option for Week 5 versus the Washington Redskins. In each of his last three contests, he has been targeted at least six times but has not amassed more than 44 receiving yards.

Sun, 02 Oct 2016 19:50:00 -0700

Baltimore Ravens WR Mike Wallace posted four receptions for 44 yards in the Week 4 game against the Oakland Raiders. He was targeted 10 times.

Fantasy Tip: Wallace has been targeted six times in each of his four games, although he has 44 or fewer receiving yards in each of his past three games. Treat him more as a WR4 heading into Week 5 against the Redskins.

Ravens | Mike Wallace scores two TDs

Sun, 18 Sep 2016 14:39:53 -0700

Baltimore Ravens WR Mike Wallace caught four passes for 41 yards and two touchdowns against the Cleveland Browns in Week 2.

Fantasy Tip: Wallace has caught three touchdowns in the first two games and appears to have found a role in the passing game. He should be owned in all leagues and could be a flex option for owners.

Ravens | Mike Wallace has had success vs. Browns

Thu, 15 Sep 2016 15:51:43 -0700

Baltimore Ravens WR Mike Wallace is averaging 20.5 yards-per-catch over his career against the Cleveland Browns, the highest mark of his career opposite any team in which he's recorded at least 10 receptions. Facing the Browns, Wallace has hauled in 17 catches for 348 yards.

Fantasy Tip: Wallace was a sleeper pick by some coming into the new season, and he got out to a good start in Week 1 after registering three catches for 91 yards and a touchdown versus a solid Bills defense. Time will tell if he can sustain meaningful production on an every-week basis in his new colors, but as far as Week 2 is concerned, Wallace looks like he can be a fine WR3 plugin.

Ravens | Mike Wallace has strong outing

Sun, 11 Sep 2016 14:15:54 -0700

Baltimore Ravens WR Mike Wallace caught three passes for 91 yards and one touchdown against the Buffalo Bills in Week 1.

Fantasy Tip: Wallace showed he could still be a deep threat with his 66-yard touchdown reception. He could waiver wire option for owners looking to add another receiver but likely will be only a flex option in deeper leagues at this time.

Sat, 27 Aug 2016 19:50:42 -0700

Baltimore Ravens WR Mike Wallace was targeted six times in the preseason game Saturday, Aug. 27, against the Detroit Lions, posting three receptions for 37 yards.

Fantasy Tip: Wallace was targeted more after Ben Watson left the game with a serious injury. He has the chance to rebound nicely in Baltimore, as injuries have created a huge opportunity. He should be targeted as a WR4 in most fantasy formats.

Ravens | Mike Wallace endearing himself

Wed, 17 Aug 2016 06:53:05 -0700

Baltimore Ravens WR Mike Wallace has caught fade routes in the end zone, tough catches on back-shoulder throws and has been a frequent target on underneath routes in camp. He has been a reliable target as far as hands go. "I think he is going to be a really big hit for us," QB Joe Flacco said. "We all know he can run. But just the way he runs his routes and how good is he at the top of it and coming back to you, and how sure his hands have been. I don't know if I've seen him drop a pass."

Fantasy Tip: Wallace has a golden opportunity to return to fantasy relevance. He's a WR4 with the opportunity for more with so many injuries and questions on the Ravens' roster.

Ravens | Mike Wallace works with starters

Mon, 01 Aug 2016 09:48:30 -0700

Baltimore Ravens WR Mike Wallace worked with the first-team offense in practice Sunday, July 31. Injuries to WRs Steve Smith Sr. (Achilles') and Breshad Perriman (knee) helped facilitate Wallace going with the starters.

Fantasy Tip: Wallace has as much upside as can be expected from a 30-year-old wide receiver on his fourth team in five years. Talent never was the problem, and now opportunity alone thrusts him into fantasy relevancy again as a WR4 target.

Ravens | Mike Wallace passes conditioning test

Fri, 29 Jul 2016 06:16:53 -0700

Baltimore Ravens WR Mike Wallace passed his conditioning test Friday, July 29, and he is taking part in practice.

Fantasy Tip: Wallace has a sizeable opportunity with the Ravens, who could lean heavily on him in the slot. He turns 30 in a couple of days, and this could be his last chance. He's in the WR5 flyer mix in fantasy.

Thu, 28 Jul 2016 17:08:38 -0700

Baltimore Ravens WR Mike Wallace (undisclosed) was placed on the Active/Non-Football Injury list Thursday, July 28.

Fantasy Tip: It's unclear what Wallace's ailment is, but he did fail a conditioning test recently. His status will need to be monitored throughout training camp, but Wallace shouldn't be drafted as more than a WR5 in standard formats in a deep Baltimore wide receiver corps.

Wed, 27 Jul 2016 13:24:23 -0700

Baltimore Ravens WR Mike Wallace failed his conditioning test Wednesday, July 27. He will be able to take the test again Thursday, July 28.

Fantasy Tip: Wallace should be able to pass the test in the next day or two and should participate in practice moving forward. He will have a chance to win the No. 2 receiver job during training camp and could be a late-round option in most fantasy leagues.

Ravens | Kamar Aiken not a projected starter

Thu, 21 Jul 2016 16:07:18 -0700

Baltimore Ravens WRs Steve Smith and Mike Wallace are projected as the two starting wide receivers for Baltimore, according to ESPN.com's Jamison Hensley.

Fantasy Tip: Aiken should still see a decent amount of targets even with Smith, Wallace and Breshad Perriman in the mix. Even with the large number of mouths to feed, Aiken is still a WR4 consideration heading into 2016.

Ravens | Coach impressed with Mike Wallace

Wed, 29 Jun 2016 13:58:59 -0700

Baltimore Ravens WR Mike Wallace showed he is a complete receiver during offseason workouts and is expected to be a big part of the offense in 2016, according to head coach John Harbaugh.

Fantasy Tip: Wallace struggled with the Minnesota Vikings last season but should improve his numbers this season with the Ravens. Wallace should be the No. 2 or No. 3 receiver for Baltimore in 2016 and could be a late-round option in fantasy leagues.

Ravens | Mike Wallace not as fast

Mon, 27 Jun 2016 07:50:45 -0700

Baltimore Ravens WR Mike Wallace said he isn't as fast as he was as the slot receiver for the Pittsburgh Steelers four years ago, but he thinks he can still get it done. "I think I've gotten better, even though (the) numbers don't say so," Wallace said. "I think I'll get better this year, and I'll show some people I have a lot up my sleeve."

Fantasy Tip: Wallace's numbers fell off a cliff last season, and at age 29, this is a make-or-break year. He'll have every opportunity to perform with a thin receiving corps and numerous injuries around him. He's a WR5 flyer in fantasy.

Ravens | Mike Wallace turning heads in spring

Tue, 14 Jun 2016 22:02:56 -0700

Baltimore Ravens WR Mike Wallace impressive team officials with his effort level during organized team activities (OTAs), and he is expected to see plenty of chances this summer with WR Steve Smith (Achilles') still rehabbing his injury and WR Breshad Perriman (knee) nursing an injury.

Fantasy Tip: Wallace might work his way into a pretty prominent role in Baltimore, especially since he has speed to burn. We've seen him impress initially in previous stops only to fade, but perhaps Baltimore is a better fit for him. He could re-emerge as a solid WR3/4 fantasy option.

Ravens | Mike Wallace playing for 2017 job

Wed, 06 Apr 2016 20:27:07 -0700

The Baltimore Ravens gave WR Mike Wallace $4.5 million to sign on a two-year, $11.5 million deal. All that is guaranteed is the signing bonus, so he has to play at a high level to make it to 2017, when he has an $8 million salary cap hit.

Fantasy Tip: Wallace could be a sneaky fantasy play in 2016, as he is playing for a payday. As a middle to late-round draft pick in fantasy he is not a bad depth addition, but make sure to have at least three quality receiving options ahead of him in case 'Bad Mike' shows off like in previous stops in Miami and Minnesota.

Ravens | Mike Wallace should have 'big role'

Sat, 02 Apr 2016 14:24:27 -0700

Baltimore Ravens WR Mike Wallace is expected to have a big role in his team's offense in 2016, according to QB Joe Flacco, who added he was excited about the team's offseason additions.

Fantasy Tip: Wallace is 29 and one year removed from a 67-catch, 10-touchdown season with the Miami Dolphins, so it's not asking the world for him to bounce back in a vertical offense led by Flacco and his big arm. Wallace is a fair bet to approach his 2014 numbers in this offense and should be a value pick as a WR3 this summer.

Ravens | More Mike Wallace terms

Wed, 16 Mar 2016 10:02:23 -0700

Updating previous reports, Baltimore Ravens WR Mike Wallace's only guarantee in his two-year deal is the $4.5 million signing bonus. He has a $1.25 million salary in 2016, a $1 million roster bonus next March and a $4.75 million salary in 2017.

Fantasy Tip: Wallace could have a revival in Baltimore, and the team will need it due to their lack of depth at the skill positions. He's a WR4 that has some cautious upside.

Ravens | Mike Wallace deal basically for one year

Wed, 16 Mar 2016 06:53:51 -0700

Updating previous reports, Baltimore Ravens WR Mike Wallace's two-year, $11.5 million deal includes 2017 as an option year that the team must exercise by the end of the 2016 league year.

Fantasy Tip: Wallace has struggled the last two years with quarterbacks that didn't have deep-ball capability. Wallace could have a revival in Baltimore, and he won't have a high price as a WR4.

Ravens | Mike Wallace financials

Tue, 15 Mar 2016 11:27:28 -0700

Updating a previous report, Baltimore Ravens WR Mike Wallace agreed to a two-year contract worth $11.5 million on Tuesday, March 15, according to a source.

Fantasy Tip: The Ravens were reportedly the only team interested in Wallace, yet his addition is a potentially very savvy signing for a team that can accentuate his talent as a vertical receiver. Wallace will be the second option at best in Baltimore behind a healthy Steve Smith, but the ex-Minnesota Viking wideout could easily return to fantasy relevancy in 2016 as a big-play WR3.

Ravens | Baltimore, Mike Wallace agree to terms

Tue, 15 Mar 2016 11:15:55 -0700

Free-agent WR Mike Wallace (Vikings) struck a deal with the Baltimore Ravens on Tuesday, March 15, according to a source. Terms of the contract were not disclosed.

Fantasy Tip: The addition of Wallace fills the vertical-receiver void left behind by Torrey Smith's departure last offseason and gives the Ravens two receivers to stretch the field if Breshad Perriman can stay healthy after a lost rookie season. This signing is a good fit for both player and team, giving big-armed Joe Flacco one of the best deep-ball threats in the game. Wallace should be considered a low-end WR3 for now.

Vikings | Mike Wallace could return to Minnesota

Sun, 13 Mar 2016 10:28:19 -0700

Free-agent WR Mike Wallace (Vikings) is still an option for the Minnesota Vikings even though they released him last week.

Fantasy Tip: The Vikings probably would want Wallace back at a lower price, but Wallace is receiving interest from other teams. Wallace likely will be used as a deep threat in 2016 and could be a late-round pick in deeper leagues depending on his team.

Ravens | Mike Wallace to visit Ravens

Sat, 12 Mar 2016 15:44:56 -0800

Free-agent WR Mike Wallace (Vikings) will visit the Baltimore Ravens Monday, March 14.

Fantasy Tip: If Wallace has anything left, he's unlikely to get out of town without a deal as bare as the Ravens were last season. He could be a WR4, but the sands are getting thin in his fantasy hourglass.

Ravens | Mike Wallace has interest from Ravens

Wed, 09 Mar 2016 07:25:53 -0800

Vikings | Minnesota releasing Mike Wallace

Tue, 08 Mar 2016 12:19:51 -0800

Minnesota Vikings WR Mike Wallace was released Tuesday, March 8, according to a source.

Fantasy Tip: This shouldn't come as a big shock. Wallace was one of the most underachieving and overpaid wide receivers in the NFL during his stay in Minnesota. His production has faltered and his age is increasing. He should no longer be considered more than a WR3, wherever he plays next.

Mon, 07 Mar 2016 19:07:45 -0800

Fantasy Tip: Wallace would likely catch on with another organization, but his days as a must-start fantasy option appear to be in the rear-view mirror.

Vikings | Mike Wallace may stay with Vikings

Sat, 05 Mar 2016 05:45:24 -0800

Minnesota Vikings WR Mike Wallace could return to the Vikings next season if he is willing to accept a significant pay cut, according to a source. The Vikings believe Wallace could be more effective in his second year with Teddy Bridgewater.

Fantasy Tip: Wallace will be released if he is unwilling to accept a pay cut, so owners should keep an eye on the situation. He finished this past season with 473 yards and two touchdowns. Wallace's fantasy value will be determined by his team, but he probably will not be a good option in most leagues.

Vikings | Mike Wallace a likely cut

Wed, 10 Feb 2016 08:43:59 -0800

Minnesota Vikings WR Mike Wallace is likely to be cut in the offseason as he carries an $11.5 million salary for 2016.

Fantasy Tip: Wallace had a futile 39-473-2 line last season and didn't fit the offense very well. He still has the potential to land in a prime spot and be a solid WR4 flyer.

Vikings | Minnesota WRs struggle in victory

Sun, 03 Jan 2016 22:57:56 -0800

Minnesota Vikings WRs Mike Wallace, Jarius Wright, Adam Thielen and Stefon Diggs each struggled in the Week 17 game against the Green Bay Packers. Wallace had one grab for 22 yards, while Wright had 21 yards on two receptions. Thielen posted 16 yards on his only target, and Diggs had an eight-yard grab on two receptions.

Fantasy Tip: The Vikings receivers each did very little in a victory. The best bet for FantasyScore players is Diggs heading into next Sunday's playoff game against the Seattle Seahawks, but none of the receivers have done very much lately and Seattle's defense is stout. It might be best to target receivers in the other playoff games.

Vikings | Mike Wallace should be on the field

Fri, 16 Oct 2015 14:41:05 -0700

Minnesota Vikings WR Mike Wallace (knee) fully participated in practice Friday, Oct. 16, and is listed as probable for the Week 6 game against the Kansas City Chiefs.

Fantasy Tip: Wallace ($5,400, 10.8% of cap) is coming off a solid Week 4 performance when he caught eight passes for 83 yards and one touchdown. He is facing a Chiefs defense that allows the most fantasy points to wide receivers this season, so owners should consider adding him to their lineups.

Vikings | Mike Wallace, Charles Johnson limited

Thu, 15 Oct 2015 15:20:49 -0700

Minnesota Vikings WRs Mike Wallace (knee) and Charles Johnson (ribs) were limited in practice Thursday, Oct. 15.

Fantasy Tip: Wallace ($5,400, 10.8% of cap) didn't practice yesterday, so this is a good sign that he will be able to take the field in Week 6. He has a tremendous matchup against a Kansas City Chiefs defense that has given up 11 touchdowns to wide receivers in 2015. Johnson ($3,800, 7.6% of cap) hasn't done much this year and has missed some time recently. If he does play, he could be rusty and/or limited. He's a risky play on FantasyScore despite a good matchup.

Minnesota Vikings WR Mike Wallace (knee) did not participate in practice Wednesday, Oct. 14.

Fantasy Tip: Wallace ($5,400, 10.8% of cap) said he expected to play against the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 6, so owners should monitor his practice participation. Wallace would be a solid starting option against the Chiefs since they struggle against opposing receivers.

Wed, 14 Oct 2015 13:33:47 -0700

Minnesota Vikings WR Mike Wallace (knee) said he injured his knee in Week 4 but should be able to play in the Week 6 game against the Kansas City Chiefs.

Fantasy Tip: Wallace ($5,400, 10.8% of cap) is coming off a solid Week 4 performance where he caught eight passes for 83 and one touchdown. He could be a solid starting option if active because the Chiefs allow the most fantasy points to wide receivers.

Mon, 12 Oct 2015 13:02:01 -0700

Minnesota Vikings WR Mike Wallace (undisclosed) did not participate in practice Monday, Oct. 12, because of an undisclosed reason. Head coach Mike Zimmer is not sure if Wallace will be able to play in the Week 6 game against the Kansas City Chiefs.

Fantasy Tip: Owners will need to keep an eye out on the situation during the week to see if Wallace will be able to practice at some point. He has posted decent numbers in the first four games of the season, but owners may want to have backup plans ready if he is not able to play.

Minnesota Vikings WR Mike Wallace pulled down eight balls for 83 yards and a touchdown in the Week 4 game against the Denver Broncos. He was targeted 10 times.

Fantasy Tip: Wallace ($4,400, 8.8% of cap) had his best game, by far, as a member of the Vikings. He is a solid WR3/4 or flex play in most fantasy formats for his big-play potential.

Vikings | Mike Wallace still optimistic

Sat, 03 Oct 2015 11:54:42 -0700

Minnesota Vikings WR Mike Wallace believes the deep plays are coming despite Minnesota's slow start in the passing game. "We still have a lot [of playbook]; we've got 73% more," Wallace said. "We still have a ways to go. We still have a lot of things in the fold. Hopefully, we can get to it." Wallace said another reason for upcoming deep passes is that RB Adrian Peterson has been playing well, which will hopefully open up the field more for Wallace and the Vikings wide receivers.

Fantasy Tip: Wallace ($4,400, 8.8% of cap) is off to an extremely slow start this year, and a breakout shouldn't be expected in Week 4 against one of the better pass defenses in the Denver Broncos. It's best to wait at least one more week before starting Wallace, or at least expecting a big game out of him.
