Miami Dolphins WR Mike Wallace (chest) was limited in practice Friday, Nov. 28, for a second straight day.
Fantasy Tip: If he is able to go, Wallace ($5,800, 11.6%) is a good deal on FantasyScore this week facing a subpar New York Jets pass defense.

Miami Dolphins WR Mike Wallace (undisclosed) did not participate during the media-access portion of practice Wednesday, Nov. 26, because of an undisclosed injury. Wallace was able to do some jogging and catch passes on the side.
Fantasy Tip: Owners will know more about Wallace's injury Thursday, Nov. 27, when the Dolphins release their injury report. Wallace leads the team in receiving yards and likely will have a big role in the passing game if he plays. Wallace costs $5,800 on FantasyScore, but owners should wait for more on his injury before making a decision.
Fri, 21 Nov 2014 15:00:12 -0800
Miami Dolphins WRs Mike Wallace (calf) and Jarvis Landry (shoulder) were both limited in practice Friday, Nov. 21, but they are both listed as probable for Week 12 against the Denver Broncos.
Fantasy Tip: Landry ($3,700) should be the safer and more profitable play at FantasyScore this weekend, with the Broncos allowing the fifth-most receptions to receivers this year (141). Wallace ($5,700) has boom potential, but Ryan Tannehill has struggled on deep routes, and Wallace will likely be covered by Aqib Talib.
Thu, 20 Nov 2014 15:38:54 -0800
Miami Dolphins WRs Mike Wallace (calf) and Jarvis Landry (shoulder) were both limited in practice for the second straight day Thursday, Nov. 20.
Fantasy Tip: Landry ($3,700) has better potential for a return on your investment at FantasyScore than Wallace ($5,700), especially because of Ryan Tannehill's inability to hit on the deep pass. But both players could be good investments this weekend against the Denver Broncos, especially if Miami is forced to play from behind.
Wed, 19 Nov 2014 15:30:33 -0800
Miami Dolphins WR Mike Wallace (calf) was limited in practice Wednesday, Nov. 19.
Fantasy Tip: On paper, Wallace's matchup with the Denver Broncos looks good this weekend; the Broncos allow the fourth-most receptions to wideouts all season. However, Wallace ($5,700) has struggled to connect with Ryan Tannehill deep, and he may be blanketed by Aqib Talib, one of the league's tougher cornerbacks.
Sat, 15 Nov 2014 11:23:28 -0800
Miami Dolphins WR Mike Wallace said it's not offensive coordinator Bill Lazor's fault for the offense's struggles. Wallace said Lazor is making good calls, but the players need to execute better and stop leaving touchdowns on the field.
Fantasy Tip: Wallace has not been immune to the offense's struggles. He has scored just once in three weeks despite no fewer than seven targets. It's hard to stick with the lack of consistency, but Wallace is still the team's best playmaker and worth at least a flex start on a weekly basis.
Fri, 14 Nov 2014 09:47:27 -0800
Miami Dolphins WR Mike Wallace continues to struggle with his connection with QB Ryan Tannehill on deep balls. Meanwhile, WR Jarvis Landry is becoming the team's best playmaker in the passing game.
Fantasy Tip: Wallace had four catches (seven targets) for 38 yards in the Thursday night win over the Buffalo Bills. However, Landry has become the much safer and consistent play in point-per-reception leagues like FantasyScore.
Wed, 29 Oct 2014 10:48:51 -0700
Miami Dolphins WR Mike Wallace isn't happy that he's not receiving deep targets in the offense this year. Wallace was also frustrated with the lack of success on offense against the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 8, in which they only put up 13 points. Wallace had a deep catch on Sunday, but he had only one catch after that, and the team had only 178 yards through the air, dropping them to 25th in the league in passing. QB Ryan Tannehill has thrown the ball over 20 yards just 23 times this year and has only completed seven of those throws. Wallace leads the team in catches (32) and receiving yards (418).
Fantasy Tip: The Dolphins have gone away from the deep pass more recently, as Tannehill has struggled in that arena in his career. That makes Wallace less likely to bust big plays, which is his forte. Consider Wallace a WR3 or flex option.
Fri, 17 Oct 2014 14:33:29 -0700
Miami Dolphins WR Brian Hartline has become a forgotten man in the team's offense after back-to-back 1,000-yard seasons. He is currently fourth on the team in catches (16) and third in receiving yards (161), and he's on pace for his worst statistical season since 2011. The Dolphins have basically stopped throwing his way; he was targeted just twice in Week 6 and was without a catch for the first time in almost two years. Tannehill has had the most snaps of any receiver on the team in every game this year, but only once was he targeted more often than WR Mike Wallace.
"Sometimes teams commit, whether they play cloud, whether they double-cover, there are multiple different coverages. We are a progression-based passing game. Sometimes it's just the way the ball rolls and the snaps are thrown, it just hasn't been (there). He hasn't been targeted quite as much, but I'm sure he is going to have his days," head coach Joe Philbin said. WR Jarvis Landry has emerged as a legitimate receiving threat, too, and he had a team-high six-catches for 75 yards and a touchdown against the Green Bay Packers last week.
Fantasy Tip: Until Hartline is utilized more often in the offense, he won't be an intriguing pick for your FantasyScore lineups. He comes with a $4,300 (8.6% of cap) salary this weekend against the Chicago Bears.
Thu, 09 Oct 2014 13:44:52 -0700
Miami Dolphins WR Mike Wallace (foot) was limited in practice Thursday, Oct. 9, for the second straight day.
Fantasy Tip: His status will need monitoring heading into the weekend, but a player who is limited most of the week may not be worth the risk on FantasyScore. Nevertheless, his price is $5,700.
Wed, 08 Oct 2014 14:02:28 -0700
Miami Dolphins WR Mike Wallace (foot) was limited in practice Wednesday, Oct. 8.
Fantasy Tip: Many folks may forget about Wallace coming off his bye week. Against the Green Bay Packers, look to Wallace as a sleeper option for $5,700 (11.4% of cap) at FantasyScore.
Fri, 03 Oct 2014 07:12:12 -0700
Miami Dolphins WR Mike Wallace leads the team in receptions (20), receiving yards (246) and touchdowns (three). However, the deep ball hasn't been a big part of his game, in large part because QB Ryan Tannehill has struggled with them. He also leads the receivers with 34 targets. After dropping 12 passes in 2013, he has just two in four games.
Fantasy Tip: Wallace is on a bye this week, but he is proving to be worthy of a WR3 spot on FantasyScore.
Fri, 26 Sep 2014 15:06:07 -0700
Miami Dolphins WR Mike Wallace (hamstring) was limited during practice Friday, Sept. 26, and is listed as probable for Week 4.

Thu, 25 Sep 2014 15:28:13 -0700

Fantasy Tip: Wallace suffered the injury in Week 1, but he still had seven catches (11 targets) for 81 yards and a touchdown. He's expected to play in Week 2 against the Buffalo Bills. He's a solid value as a WR2 at FantasyScore ($5,100; 10.2% of cap).
Mon, 25 Aug 2014 12:23:33 -0700
Miami Dolphins WR Mike Wallace stayed after practice to work with QB Ryan Tannehill.
Fantasy Tip: Big things are expected from Wallace and Tannehill this year under new offensive coordinator Bill Lazor. It's encouraging that the two are working overtime to get better. Wallace should be drafted as a low-end WR2 in non-PPR leagues while Tannehill provides sleeper potential as a QB2.

Wed, 06 Aug 2014 05:31:33 -0700
Miami Dolphins QB Ryan Tannehill is struggling on deep balls thrown to WR Mike Wallace (hamstring) so far in camp. Wallace said his hamstring injury is still limiting him in reaching top speed. The two converted just six of 36 passes of 20 or more yards last season.
Fantasy Tip: There is plenty of time for the two to find a rhythm. Wallace is a great WR3 or a low-end WR2 in fantasy. Tannehill is a QB2 with upside to sneak into QB1 range.

Fri, 25 Jul 2014 08:44:28 -0700
Miami Dolphins QB Ryan Tannehill and WR Mike Wallace connected on a deep throw on the first day of training camp Friday, July 25. According to Omar Kelly, the two connected on one deep ball in five weeks during last year's camp activities.
Fantasy Tip: A positive note from someone paid to watch such things. Bill Lazor's new offense and another year of experience between the two could lead a fantasy rebound for both this season, making them fine buy-low candidates.
Tue, 15 Jul 2014 10:28:29 -0700
Miami Dolphins WR Mike Wallace said he could return kicks in 2014, something he has always wanted to do. "I might get back there for kickoff returns," Wallace said. "I just want to be on the field making an impact for my team. I've always wanted to return kicks ever since I've been in the NFL."

Wed, 04 Jun 2014 18:19:45 -0700
Miami Dolphins WR Mike Wallace is feeling better this offseason, and a big reason is that he loves the system of offensive coordinator Bill Lazor. The new OC gives Wallace flexibility to change where he lines up, something former offensive coordinator Mike Sherman would not permit him to do last season. Wallace said that allowed opposing defenses to know exactly where he was going to be on the field.
Fantasy Tip: Wallace seems to have a better comfort level with this year's offense and OC, and that might lead to a resurgence. Fantasy owners might undervalue him based upon last season's numbers, but he still has WR1 potential in this league. Wallace is a nice sleeper heading into 2014.

"Some of it's timing between the guys. Some is ball location. Some is the receiver being in the exact right spot. We've got to increase our explosive plays. We've got to score more points. We just have to. [Deep balls are] a part of it. It's not the only part. We've sliced up those routes and studied why and how. We definitely addressed that."
