Mariners | Dustin Ackley starting Sunday

Sun, 05 Jul 2015 11:26:47 -0700

Seattle Mariners OF Dustin Ackley is in the lineup against Oakland Athletics SP Chris Bassitt Sunday, July 5, batting and playing left field.

Fantasy Tip: Ackley ($2,200, 4.4% of cap) is hitting just .197 overall but is 6-for-20 (.300) this season against the A's, with a home run and four RBIs. If you're desperate for cap relief in FantasyScore, you may want to consider using him as an inexpensive outfield option.

Mariners | Dustin Ackley has three-hit game

Tue, 23 Jun 2015 23:27:18 -0700

Seattle Mariners OF Dustin Ackley had three hits in a game for the first time this season on Tuesday, June 23. Ackley, who singled, doubled and homered, is now 9-for-13 against Kansas City Royals SP Jeremy Guthrie.

Fantasy Tip: Ackley ($2,200, 4.4% of cap) has historically done well against Guthrie, but this is too small a sample size to recommend playing Ackley on a regular basis. He's only batting .204.

Mariners | Robinson Cano scratched late

Thu, 18 Jun 2015 17:57:53 -0700

Seattle Mariners 2B Robinson Cano (back) is a late scratch Thursday, June 18, against the San Francisco Giants, due to a stiff lower back. OF Dustin Ackley will start at second base against RHP Ryan Vogelsong.

Fantasy Tip: Ackley ($2,200, 4.4% of cap) is not a FantasyScore option at all, and season-long owners will need to hold their breath for a Cano update.

Mariners | Mark Trumbo scratched from lineup

Sun, 14 Jun 2015 10:37:46 -0700

Seattle Mariners OF Mark Trumbo (back) was scratched from the starting lineup Sunday, June 14, because of back spasms. OF Dustin Ackley will replace him in the lineup and is batting seventh.

Fantasy Tip: Owners should monitor the situation to see when Trumbo ($4,100, 8.2% of cap) will return to the lineup. Ackley ($2,200, 4.4% of cap) has done a little better at the plate this month but is still hitting .194 on the season and is not a great option on FantasyScore.

Mariners | Austin Jackson resting Friday

Fri, 05 Jun 2015 16:23:14 -0700

Seattle Mariners OF Austin Jackson is not in the starting lineup Friday, June 5. OF Dustin Ackley is starting in center field and hitting ninth in the batting order against Tampa Bay Rays SP Jake Odorizzi.

Fantasy Tip: Ackley ($2,200, 4.4% of cap) hasn't been useful all season at FantasyScore, and that shouldn't change tonight, especially while hitting last in the batting order against a pitcher that has been solid all season long.

Mariners | Seth Smith, Dustin Ackley sitting

Tue, 02 Jun 2015 15:27:03 -0700

Seattle Mariners OFs Seth Smith and Dustin Ackley are out of the starting lineup against a left-handed pitcher Tuesday, June 2. OF Rickie Weeks is serving as the designated hitter and batting sixth against New York Yankees SP CC Sabathia, while OF Justin Ruggiano is starting in left field and hitting eighth.

Fantasy Tip: Weeks ($2,200, 4.4% of cap) and Ruggiano ($2,200) aren't playing that much this year and have really nothing to show for. However, they could be very valuable tonight at FantasyScore for the price. Sabathia allows a slash line of .345/.379/.546 to right-handed hitters this year.

Seattle Mariners SS Chris Taylor is not in the starting lineup Sunday, May 31, against the Cleveland Indians. OF Dustin Ackley is hitting ninth and SS Brad Miller is in at shortstop.

Fantasy Tip: Taylor ($2,700, 5.4% of cap) is out on an off day, and Miller ($3,100, 6.2% of cap) gets a turn at the position. Miller is not a bad addition for the price. Ackley ($2,200, 4.4% of cap) carries minimal fantasy value.

Mariners | Dustin Ackley draws into lineup

Wed, 27 May 2015 08:07:21 -0700

Seattle Mariners OF Dustin Ackley is batting eighth and playing left field against the Tampa Bay Rays Wednesday, May 27.

Fantasy Tip: Ackley ($2,200, 4.4% of cap) is sporting an unexciting .184/.225/.311 slash line, and he'll face a solid opposing arm in Chris Archer. FantasyScore players can fade Ackley without worry, and the former second overall pick is likely best left to the waiver wire in all year-long mixed formats.
