Reds | Mike Leake likes facing Cubs

Thu, 23 Apr 2015 15:28:03 -0700

Cincinnati Reds SP Mike Leake is 4-0 with a 2.45 ERA in his last six starts against the Chicago Cubs, who he faces Friday, April 24.

Fantasy Tip: Leake ($3,700, 7.4% of cap) is 0-1 with a 3.92 ERA and 1.11 WHIP while fanning 13 in 20 2/3 innings in 2015. The Cubs lineup has more upside and pop than in recent years, though, and Leake is more of a low-end starting pitching option at FantasyScore tomorrow night.

Reds | Cincy announces rotation

Wed, 18 Mar 2015 11:22:38 -0700

Cincinnati Reds SPs Johnny Cueto, Mike Leake, Anthony DeSclafani, Jason Marquis and Raisel Iglesias will comprise the team's starting rotation to enter the regular season. SP Paul Maholm is competing for a bullpen spot.

Fantasy Tip: Cueto is really the only pitcher in this five that deserves heavy fantasy baseball attention as an ace for your fake staff. The others are all likely just NL-only targets, with DeSclafani and Iglesias possessing intriguing upside.

Sat, 21 Feb 2015 12:24:51 -0800

Cincinnati Reds SP Mike Leake said he is open to discussing a contract extension with the club, although they haven't approached him yet. "I'll be happy to stay in Cincinnati, but I'd also be happy to go to free agency," Leake said. "I'd like for them to show interest. They haven't yet.
