Angels | Mike Trout reaches 41 homers

Thu, 01 Oct 2015 09:00:31 -0700

Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim OF Mike Trout hit his 41st home run of the season Wednesday, Sept. 30, matching former Angels 3B Troy Glaus for the second-highest season total in franchise history. Trout also stole his first base since July 25, and he has only two stolen bases since the All-Star break, just two fewer than 1B Albert Pujols.

Fantasy Tip: Despite a lack of stolen bases from one of the best players in the game, Trout ($6,300, 12.6% of cap) remains as safe as they come on FantasyScore the way he's been swinging the past month. He hit .316 (30-for-95) with eight home runs and 15 RBI in the month of September.

Angels | Mike Trout has big night Thursday

Fri, 18 Sep 2015 09:16:55 -0700

Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim OF Mike Trout hit a grand slam and a solo home run in a winning effort over the Minnesota Twins Thursday, Sept. 17, to set a career high for homers in a season with 38. He also walked three times and made a great catch in center field in the third inning, further boosting his MVP case this year. It was Trout's eighth career multi-homer game. He has the fourth-highest career home run total (136) of any player through his age-23 season, behind Eddie Mathews, Mel Ott and New York Yankees 3B Alex Rodriguez.

Fantasy Tip: Trout ($5,900, 11.8% of cap) is hot again after he struggled a bit in August, and you should consider paying up for him on FantasyScore each and every night.

Angels | Mike Trout shifts to two-hole

Sat, 22 Aug 2015 15:41:06 -0700

Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim OF Mike Trout is hitting second Saturday, Aug. 22, with 1B Albert Pujols moving up to hit third.

Fantasy Tip: Trout ($6,500, 13.0% of cap) and his August struggles have been well documented. He's hitting .183-1-5 in 71 at-bats this month. The matchup against Marco Estrada is ripe, but his price and slump make it a risk. Pujols is hitting .236 this month, but he has three homers in the last seven days. At $5,200 (10.4% of cap), he's a good option on FantasyScore.

Angels | Mike Trout back on track

Fri, 21 Aug 2015 05:23:53 -0700

Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim OF Mike Trout has three hits in his last two games after an 0-for-12 slump at the plate.

Fantasy Tip: Trout ($6,500, 13.0% of cap) doesn't slump too much, but this slump was brief and mild and he broke out of it fairly fast. He remains a solid FantasyScore option, one of the best in the game.

Angels | Mike Trout says he's fully healthy

Wed, 12 Aug 2015 15:07:41 -0700

Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim OF Mike Trout (wrist) said his left wrist was bothering him for roughly a week but is now 100% healthy.

Fantasy Tip: Even the best hitters in the game are prone to slumps every now and then; Trout ($6,500, 13.0% of cap) is hitting .154 (6-for-39) with just one home run and two RBI so far this month. It probably won't last long, and he's still one of the best outfield options in daily formats on a nightly basis.

Angels | Mike Trout returns to lineup

Thu, 30 Jul 2015 15:51:25 -0700

Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim OF Mike Trout (wrist) is back in the lineup against Houston Astros SP Scott Kazmir Thursday, July 30, after missing the previous two games. He's returned to his normal spot in the batting order hitting third.

Fantasy Tip: This is a no-brainer. Trout ($6,500, 13.0% of cap), the general consensus best player in baseball, should be restored in all fantasy starting lineups immediately. He's also tasked with facing a left-hander this evening, and Trout has actually been better against lefties compared to righties, posting a remarkable .329/.406/.659 slash line against southpaws this season.

Angels | Mike Trout to avoid DL

Wed, 29 Jul 2015 14:17:33 -0700

Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim OF Mike Trout (wrist), who isn't in the lineup again Wednesday, July 29, wants to be 100% healthy before returning so that he can avoid a setback. He said his wrist feels "a lot better," and he will avoid a trip to the disabled list.

Fantasy Tip: New acquisition David DeJesus ($3,600, 7.2% of cap) will start in center field and lead off against Houston Astros starter Lance McCullers tonight in his debut. DeJesus figures to hit leadoff often for the Halos when he's starting against right-handed pitchers, and a placement in the leadoff spot looks good for his daily value. However, his overall fantasy value shouldn't change all that much with the move to the west coast.

Fantasy Tip: FantasyScore players would be wise to avoid Trout ($6,500, 13.0% of cap) until he can officially play a game and prove his health in a full outing without any setbacks.
