Nationals | Bryce Harper has success at Petco

Fri, 17 Jun 2016 14:56:15 -0700

Washington Nationals OF Bryce Harper is hitting .476 with three home runs in his career at Petco Park. However, he has just one hit and three strikeouts in six at-bats against San Diego Padres SP Christian Friedrich, who Harper is facing Friday, June 17.

Fantasy Tip: Harper went deep Thursday night for the first time since May 28, so Petco Park has been good to him. Friedrich isn't an overpowering lefty and Harper's small sample size against him shouldn't scare off owners in traditional leagues. However, you may want to think twice before paying Harper's high daily price.

Nationals | Bryce Harper homers in win

Thu, 16 Jun 2016 23:46:27 -0700

Washington Nationals OF Bryce Harper hit his 14th home run of the season Thursday, June 16, in an 8-5 win over the San Diego Padres.

Fantasy Tip: Harper has a .254 batting average, but his slugging percentage is a robust .502. You don't need to worry about what Harper will do when placed in your lineup. That's a subtle hint Harper should be active in all formats. It looks like he and fellow teammate Jayson Werth are going to go on a tear this summer.

Nationals | Bryce Harper receiving day off

Sun, 12 Jun 2016 10:36:46 -0700

Washington Nationals OF Bryce Harper is not in the starting lineup against Philadelphia Phillies SP Adam Morgan Sunday, June 12. OF Chris Heisey will start in right field and is batting seventh in the lineup.

Fantasy Tip: Heisey has been used mostly as a pinch hitter but has only three hits in his last 12 games. Owners in daily fantasy leagues will be able to find better options to use and can avoid Heisey.

Nationals | Bryce Harper drives in three

Tue, 07 Jun 2016 22:50:28 -0700

Washington Nationals OF Bryce Harper went 1-for-4 with a double and three RBIs Tuesday, June 7, against the Chicago White Sox.

Fantasy Tip: Harper isn't doing any favors for his fantasy owners, hitting just .249 on the season. And this was his first multi-RBI performance in 20 games dating back to May 13. Still, he remains an obvious must-start fantasy option, as he'll get back on track.

Nationals | Bryce Harper collects three hits

Sun, 05 Jun 2016 14:04:16 -0700

Washington Nationals OF Bryce Harper went 3-for-5 and scored twice Sunday, June 5, in a wild 10-9 victory over the Cincinnati Reds.

Fantasy Tip: In what was easily his best game since missing two games of the knee contusion earlier in the week, Harper gave his owners one of the best showings he's had since going berserk in April. Despite his disappointing .249 average, keep the 2015 National League MVP in fantasy lineups as the Nationals travel to yet another hitters' haven (their last two series have been in Philadelphia and Cincinnati) on Tuesday when they visit the Chicago White Sox at U.S. Cellular Field.

Nationals | Bryce Harper returns to lineup

Fri, 03 Jun 2016 13:58:53 -0700

Washington Nationals OF Bryce Harper (knee) is back in the starting lineup and is facing Cincinnati Reds SP Brandon Finnegan Friday, June 3.

Fantasy Tip: Harper last played May 30 after being hit by a pitch on his knee. He's good to go now and should be returned to all starting lineups in seasonal leagues. Harper was hitting just .200 (16-for-80) with four home runs and 10 RBI in May, though, so those in daily setups may consider twice before paying up for the young stud slugger.

Nationals | Bryce Harper may return soon

Thu, 02 Jun 2016 06:09:35 -0700

Washington Nationals OF Bryce Harper (knee) may be able to return to the starting lineup Friday, June 3.

Fantasy Tip: Harper has missed the last two games because of his knee injury, so owners will need to check the lineup Friday before deciding on their lineup. Harper is a must-start player in all fantasy leagues if he is healthy enough to play.

Nationals | Bryce Harper remains sidelined

Wed, 01 Jun 2016 12:21:07 -0700

Washington Nationals OF Bryce Harper (knee) is out of the starting lineup again Wednesday, June 1. OF Chris Heisey draws a start in left field and is hitting leadoff against Philadelphia Phillies SP Adam Morgan.

Fantasy Tip: Harper is dealing with a knee contusion and should return any day. Even though he struggled in the month of May, he should be returned in all starting lineups when he's back. Heisey is hitting .227 but does have four home runs in limited action this year. Consider him a deep sleeper in daily setups while hitting leadoff against a lefty.

Nationals | Bryce Harper could miss series

Tue, 31 May 2016 16:04:59 -0700

Washington Nationals OF Bryce Harper (knee) could miss the entire series with the Philadelphia Phillies as he deals with a sore right knee after being hit by a pitch Monday, May 30. He was diagnosed with a contusion and was wearing a sleeve over his knee Tuesday, May 31, and is still moving around gingerly. Harper doesn't think the injury is serious.

Fantasy Tip: The Nats are just being cautious with one of the best young players in the game. Harper could use a breather, though, as he's hitting just .200 (16-for-80) with 26 strikeouts and four home runs in the month of May. Whenever he returns to the lineup you'll want to get him back into your starting lineups.

Nationals | Bryce Harper out Tuesday

Tue, 31 May 2016 12:58:15 -0700

Washington Nationals OF Bryce Harper (knee) is out of the starting lineup Tuesday, May 31, against the Philadelphia Phillies. The team moved OF Jayson Werth from left to right field for Tuesday's game, and OF Clint Robinson will start in left against Phillies SP Aaron Nola.

Fantasy Tip: This injury doesn't appear to be too serious, but the team is exercising caution so it doesn't turn a little problem into something bigger. Sit Harper until he goes back to active duty. As for Robinson, his .200-2-9 line carries little to no fantasy value.
