Washington Nationals OF Bryce Harper is 14-for-29 with four walks, five extra-base hits and six strikeouts since April 6 after starting 3-for-21 with a walk, no extra-base hits and 10 strikeouts. Harper is riding an eight-game hitting streak entering Thursday, April 17. "I feel like I've just gotten into a rhythm and really trying to stay within myself and finding a balance and really trying to use my hands and trying to get in good counts," he said. "…It takes a little bit of time sometimes."
He's gone back to holding his hands higher like he has his entire life. Late in spring training, Harper rested the bat on his shoulder before he swung, but he's gone back to holding the bat high over his shoulder before he swings, which is his traditional stance. As he has improved this season, he's hitting higher in the lineup.
Fantasy Tip: After the slow start, Harper was bound to turn things around, and it all started with his stance and timing. Harper is prone to peaks and valleys, especially with nagging injuries cropping up frequently.
