Tigers | Marc Krauss not in the lineup

Wed, 22 Jul 2015 12:59:24 -0700

Detroit Tigers 1B Marc Krauss is not in the starting lineup against Seattle Mariners SP Mike Montgomery Wednesday, July 22. 3B Jefry Marte will start at first base and is batting eighth in the lineup.

Fantasy Tip: Krauss ($2,000, 4.0% of cap) struggles against left-handed pitchers, so he is receiving a day off. Marte ($2,900, 5.8% of cap) has recorded only one hit in his last four games and is not be best option to use on FantasyScore.

Tigers | Marc Krauss will not start

Mon, 20 Jul 2015 12:40:42 -0700

Detroit Tigers 1B Marc Krauss is not in the starting lineup against Seattle Mariners SP J.A. Happ Monday, July 20. 3B Jefry Marte will start at first base and is batting sixth in the lineup.

Fantasy Tip: Krauss struggles against left-handed pitchers, so he is receiving a day off. Marte ($2,900, 5.8% of cap) has picked up four RBI in nine at-bats since joining the team and could be a cheaper option for owners on FantasyScore to consider.

Tigers | Detroit to recall Dixon Machado

Thu, 16 Jul 2015 20:13:37 -0700

Detroit Tigers SS Dixon Machado will be recalled from Class AAA Toledo to face the Baltimore Orioles Friday, July 17. In a corresponding move, 1B Marc Krauss will be placed on the paternity list.

Fantasy Tip: Machado went 1-for-7 in a brief stint with Detroit earlier this year, and while he does have stolen base potential, he doesn't offer much fantasy value while he is with the team.

Tigers | Marc Krauss starting at first base

Thu, 09 Jul 2015 13:25:16 -0700

Detroit Tigers 1B Marc Krauss is starting at first base and batting seventh against Minnesota Twins SP Mike Pelfrey Thursday, July 9.

Fantasy Tip: Krauss ($1,700, 3.4% of cap) hit a solo home run in his only start with the Tigers Tuesday, July 9, and he could hold some fleeting value hitting in the potent Detroit lineup. It is worth noting, Pelfrey has a 8.51 ERA over his past five starts, too, so it isn't a daunting matchup Thursday. FantasyScore players looking for a punt option can turn to Krauss.

Tigers | Marc Krauss starting Tuesday

Tue, 07 Jul 2015 16:39:43 -0700

Detroit Tigers 1B Marc Krauss will make his debut Tuesday, July 7, against the Seattle Mariners. Krauss will hit seventh in the order against RHP Taijuan Walker.

Fantasy Tip: Krauss should see plenty of playing time with Miguel Cabrera on the DL, but FantasyScore owners will need to see some success before investing.

Tigers | Detroit claims Marc Krauss off waivers

Mon, 06 Jul 2015 12:09:58 -0700

The Detroit Tigers claimed 1B Marc Krauss off waivers Monday, July 7. The Tampa Bay Rays designated Krauss for assignment this weekend.

Fantasy Tip: Krauss ($1,700, 3.4% of cap) is worth an immediate grab in AL-only and cavernous mixed leagues, as he'll likely see a long look at first base with Miguel Cabrera (calf) sidelined. At FantasyScore, Krauss will have some upside as a flier and potentially more. In standard mixed leagues, he has a ways to go before warranting consideration. There is power potential, though, and he is joining a potent lineup.

Rays | Marc Krauss out of Tuesday lineup

Tue, 30 Jun 2015 12:10:17 -0700

Tampa Bay Rays 1B Marc Krauss is not in the lineup Tuesday, June 30, against the Cleveland Indians. 1B Jake Elmore is batting instead.

Fantasy Tip: This appears to be a night off for Krauss ($1,700, 3.4% of cap), possibly because of a .140 batting average and the fact he would face a righty in Danny Salazar. Elmore ($2,400, 4.8% of cap) is hitting .203 against righties, which makes him a less appealing play.

Rays | Marc Krauss starting Sunday

Sun, 28 Jun 2015 07:38:18 -0700

Tampa Bay Rays 1B Marc Krauss is starting at first base and hitting seventh in the order Sunday, June 28, against the Boston Red Sox and RHP Justin Masterson. OF Jake Elmore comes out of the starting lineup.

Fantasy Tip: Krauss is hitting just .162 on the season, having split time between the Rays and the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim. Krauss shouldn't be garnering FantasyScore consideration.

Rays | TB acquired Marc Krauss

Thu, 25 Jun 2015 15:43:07 -0700

Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim 1B Marc Krauss was acquired by the Tampa Bay Rays in exchange for P Kyle Winkler Thursday, June 25. A team official said Krauss will mostly start at first base against right-handed pitchers.

Fantasy Tip: Krauss hit just .143 (5-for-35) in limited time with the Angels this year. He has considerable power from the left side of the plate, but he doesn't make much contact and strikes out frequently. He shouldn't be high on your list of first baseman on FantasyScore when he joins the Rays.

Angels | Marc Krauss likely to be optioned

Thu, 28 May 2015 06:58:27 -0700

Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim DH Marc Krauss is expected to be optioned to Class AAA Salt Lake Thursday, May 28. He was seen packing up his locker after the Angels' 5-4 loss to the San Diego Padres Tuesday, May 27. In a corresponding move, Angels OF Kirk Nieuwenhuis is expected to replace him on the active roster.

Fantasy Tip: Krauss is a fringe player and had only spot-play worth in daily action, so this isn't exactly an earth-shattering move.
