Rays | James Loney sitting vs. Texas

Fri, 14 Aug 2015 14:57:23 -0700

Tampa Bay Rays 1B James Loney is not in the starting line Friday, Aug. 14. 2B Logan Forsythe is starting at first base and batting fourth against Texas Rangers SP Martin Perez Friday.

Fantasy Tip: Make sure to avoid Loney ($2,600, 5.2% of cap) in all fantasy formats Friday, and he usually draws out of the lineup against lefties. He is having a nice month, too, with a .353./.389/.529 slash line over 36 plate appearances in August. Forsythe ($3,900, 7.8% of cap) has a .965 OPS against southpaws this season and is worth a look at FantasyScore Friday.

Rays | Logan Forsythe homers again

Tue, 04 Aug 2015 22:50:02 -0700

Tampa Bay Rays 2B Logan Forsythe went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run Tuesday, Aug. 4, against the Chicago White Sox, and he finished with a walk and two runs scored.

Fantasy Tip: Forsythe ($4,200, 8.4% of cap) has homered twice while driving in seven runs over the past four games. He is a strong mid-level FantasyScore play while he is red hot, especially in the power categories.

Rays | Logan Forsythe drives in a pair

Mon, 03 Aug 2015 20:24:18 -0700

Tampa Bay Rays 2B Logan Forsythe went 2-for-3 with a double, walk, run scored and two RBIs Monday, Aug. 3, against the Chicago White Sox.

Fantasy Tip: Forsythe ($4,200, 8.4% of cap) has posted five multi-hit games over his past 10 outings. At a mid-level price he is a solid middle infield option for FantasyScore players lately.

Rays | James Loney out Tuesday

Tue, 28 Jul 2015 15:31:12 -0700

Tampa Bay Rays 1B James Loney is not in the lineup against Detroit Tigers left-handed SP David Price Tuesday, July 28. 2B Logan Forsythe is starting at first base and hitting cleanup, while SS Tim Beckham slides over to second base and is hitting eighth.

Fantasy Tip: Forsythe ($4,200, 8.4% of cap) has been a pleasant surprise for the Rays this year. However, he's not your prototypical cleanup hitter and is in a tough matchup against Price tonight. It might be tough for him to return any value Tuesday night.

Rays | Logan Forsythe returns to action

Sat, 25 Jul 2015 12:17:17 -0700

Tampa Bay Rays 2B Logan Forsythe is back in the starting lineup against Baltimore Orioles SP Miguel Gonzalez Saturday, July 25, batting fifth.

Fantasy Tip: Forsythe ($4,300, 8.6% of cap) is 7-for-17 with a home run and four RBIs over the past week. He is 3-for-9 in his career versus Gonzalez with one double and warrants consideration for FantasyScore lineups.

Rays | Logan Forsythe will not start

Fri, 24 Jul 2015 12:37:55 -0700

Tampa Bay Rays 2B Logan Forsythe is not in the starting lineup against Baltimore Orioles SP Chris Tillman Friday, July 24. OF Jake Elmore will start in second base and is batting seventh in the lineup.

Fantasy Tip: Forsythe ($4,300, 8.6% of cap) likely is receiving a day off and should return soon. Elmore ($2,400, 4.8% of cap) is hitting only .100 this month and probably should be passed over by owners on FantasyScore.

Rays | Logan Forsythe hitting cleanup

Wed, 22 Jul 2015 06:35:22 -0700

Tampa Bay Rays 2B Logan Forsythe is hitting cleanup Wednesday, July 22, against Philadelphia Phillies SP Adam Morgan.

Fantasy Tip: Forsythe ($4,300, 8.6% of cap) is hitting .232-1-6 this month and doesn't offer a lot of pop. He's probably not worth that price tag on FantasyScore despite the premium lineup placement.

Rays | Logan Forsythe moves up in lineup

Mon, 20 Jul 2015 12:14:08 -0700

Tampa Bay Rays 2B Logan Forsythe will start at second base against Philadelphia Phillies SP David Buchanan Monday, July 20, and is batting second in the lineup.

Fantasy Tip: Forsythe ($4,500, 9.8% of cap) moves up in the lineup after receiving a lot of time in the middle of the lineup. He has at least one hit in eight of his last 11 games and four RBI during that span. Owners on FantasyScore could consider using Forsythe in their lineups.

Rays | Logan Forsythe on the bench

Sat, 04 Jul 2015 08:37:51 -0700

Tampa Bay Rays 2B Logan Forsythe is not in the starting lineup against New York Yankees SP Michael Pineda Saturday, July 4. OF Jake Elmore will start at second base and is batting eighth in the lineup.

Fantasy Tip: Forsythe ($4,100, 8.2% of cap) should return to the lineup in the near future. Elmore ($2,400, 4.8% of cap) has struggled at the plate recently with only two hits in his last 11 games. Owners on FantasyScore should be able to find better options to use in their lineups.

Rays | Nick Franklin playing second base

Sat, 13 Jun 2015 12:50:57 -0700

Tampa Bay Rays INF Nick Franklin is in the starting lineup as the second baseman against the Chicago White Sox Saturday, June 13. 2B Logan Forsythe is getting the day off.

Fantasy Tip: Franklin ($3,100, 6.2% of cap) played shortstop Friday, June 12, but SS Asdrubral Cabrera ($3,200, 6.4% of cap) is back in the lineup Saturday. Franklin is batting .135 entering play Saturday, with Cabrera hitting .208, so neither player is a viable FantasyScore option.
