Rockies | DJ LeMahieu locked in

Sat, 25 Jun 2016 18:42:20 -0700

Colorado Rockies 2B DJ LeMahieu went 2-for-4 with a home run, three RBI, two runs scored and a walk in an 11-6 win over the Arizona Diamondbacks Saturday, June 25, and he has five multi-hit efforts in his last seven games, including three straight.

Fantasy Tip: Hitting near the top of Colorado's lineup, LeMahieu should remain a strong source of runs all year. Don't hesitate to use him in DFS formats while he is swinging a hot bat.

Rockies | Sluggers firing blanks against Miami

Sun, 19 Jun 2016 13:49:50 -0700

Colorado Rockies OF Charlie Blackmon is 0-for-12 in the Miami Marlins series. Also, 2B DJ LeMahieu is 1-for-11, 1B Mark Reynolds is 0-for-8 and SS Trevor Story is 1-for-9.

Fantasy Tip: The Miami Marlins pitchers have been strong against the Rockies, which makes it more likely you should bench these sluggers in future matchups. These are likely slumps that will be reversed once Colorado moves on to the next opponent.

Rockies | DJ LeMahieu has nice day vs. Yankees

Wed, 15 Jun 2016 15:35:14 -0700

Colorado Rockies 2B DJ LeMahieu went 3-for-3 with two runs, a double, a triple and two RBI during the Rockies' 6-3 win over the New York Yankees Wednesday, June 15.

Fantasy Tip: While LeMahieu only offers modest returns in the power (four home runs) and speed (six stolen bases) categories, his 40 runs, 25 RBI and .323/.388/.498 slash line are plus-marks. LeMahieu is a viable starter in all but the shallowest seasonal leagues, and playing his home games at Coors Field is a boost.

Rockies | Big line for DJ LeMahieu

Thu, 09 Jun 2016 18:09:39 -0700

Colorado Rockies 2B DJ LeMahieu went 2-for-3 with a home run, a double, three RBI, three runs scored and two walks in an 11-5 win over the Pittsburgh Pirates Thursday, June 9.

Fantasy Tip: LeMahieu is on pace to score more than 90 runs while providing a solid average and a little speed. He should be starting in most mixed leagues.

Rockies | DJ LeMahieu not in Sunday lineup

Sun, 05 Jun 2016 15:30:04 -0700

Colorado Rockies 2B DJ LeMahieu is out of the starting lineup Sunday, June 5, against the San Diego Padres. 2B Daniel Descalso will bat eighth against Padres SP Luis Perdomo.

Fantasy Tip: LeMahieu was light-hitting over his last few games, so the team is giving him a night off after several games in a row in the lineup. Descalso doesn't play enough to carry any significant fantasy value, so you may want to look elsewhere.

Rockies | Several COL regulars resting Saturday

Sat, 28 May 2016 10:25:14 -0700

Colorado Rockies OF Gerardo Parra, 2B DJ LeMahieu and C Tony Wolters are not in the starting lineup against San Francisco Giants SP Madison Bumgarner Saturday, May 28. OF Ryan Raburn will bat sixth and play left field, INF Cristhian Adames will play second base and bat seventh and C Dustin Garneau will start behind the plate and bat eighth.

Fantasy Tip: Raburn is 10-for-27 (.370) with three home runs and 10 RBI at home this year but is just 1-for-6 in his career versus Bumgarner, making him a risky play in DFS this afternoon. Adames (2-for-3) and Garneau (1-for-3) have enjoyed modest success against the veteran lefty but shouldn't be viewed as much more than potential sources of salary cap relief.

Rockies | DJ LeMahieu batting back in the two-hole

Thu, 26 May 2016 13:20:31 -0700

Colorado Rockies 2B DJ LeMahieu is batting second against Boston Red Sox SP Clay Buchholz Thursday, May 26.

Fantasy Tip: Lemahieu's fantasy value jumps significantly if he sticks in the two-hole, as his on-base skills and plus-speed fit the role nicely. And obviously, hitting in front of the two best hitters on the team will help him pad the run column. He is a viable option at the keystone in the majority of seasonal leagues and currently sits with a respectable 24 runs, two home runs, 14 RBI, five stolen bases and .307/.361/.427 slash line.

Rockies | DJ LeMahieu batting second vs. Red Sox

Wed, 25 May 2016 14:47:24 -0700

Colorado Rockies 2B DJ LeMahieu is batting second against Boston Red Sox SP Steven Wright Wednesday, May 25.

Fantasy Tip: With Trevor Story out of the lineup, LeMahieu jumps into the two-hole. LeMahieu's fantasy value receives a fleeting boost, and it increases his upside in daily contests. He is having a nice season with 24 runs, two home runs, 14 RBI, five stolen bases and a .310/.366/.434 slash line, and LeMahieu remains a viable starter at the keystone in the majority of seasonal leagues.

Rockies | DJ LeMahieu sitting vs. Cards

Thu, 19 May 2016 13:17:14 -0700

Colorado Rockies 2B DJ LeMahieu is not in the starting lineup Thursday, May 19. 2B Daniel Descalso is starting at the keystone and batting eighth against St. Louis Cardinals SP Michael Wacha Thursday.

Fantasy Tip: LeMahieu is off to a solid start with 23 runs, two home runs, 13 RBI, five stolen bases and a .301/.361/.436 slash line. There aren't many fantasy formats where he should be on the waiver wire, especially with him calling Coors Field home. Descalso doesn't move the fantasy needle outside of being a desperation flier in daily contests Thursday.

Rockies | Charlie Blackmon takes a seat

Fri, 06 May 2016 16:02:33 -0700

Colorado Rockies OF Charlie Blackmon is not in the starting lineup against San Francisco Giants left-handed SP Madison Bumgarner Friday, May 6. OF Ryan Raburn is starting in left field and hitting sixth, with OF Gerardo Parra shifting over to center field. Also, 2B DJ LeMahieu moves up to the leadoff spot.

Fantasy Tip: Raburn is a notorious lefty killer, but MadBum isn't your typical southpaw on the hill tonight. It could prove difficult for Raburn to turn a profit in daily affairs. Parra becomes one to avoid in the tough lefty-lefty matchup. LeMahieu gains value with the move all the way up the order, but he should be seen as a contrarian play because of the matchup.
