New York Yankees SP Nathan Eovaldi made a small adjustment to his pitching motion which allowed him to hold the Detroit Tigers to one run Tuesday, April 21. Pitching coach Larry Rothschild had Eovaldi keep his right arm closer to his body as he brought his arm back on his delivery. The adjustment helped the precision of his pitches.
Fantasy Tip: Eovaldi ($4,100, 4.2% of cap) has pitched pretty well so far this season and has struck out 14 batters in 17 1/3 innings over three starts. He is scheduled to pitch against the New York Mets in his next start, which could be a tough matchup since they rank in the top 10 in runs scored and batting average.

New York Yankees SP Nathan Eovaldi allowed two earned runs and eight hits with three walks and nine strikeouts over five innings in a no-decision against the Baltimore Orioles Wednesday, April 15.
Fantasy Tip: Eovaldi crushed fantasy owners in rotisserie formats in the WHIP category, but his nine punchouts were very pleasing to FantasyScore players at just $4,100 (or 8.2% of cap). His next probable start is set for April 21 in Detroit, so you might want to avoid against a solid hitting club on the road.

New York Yankees SP Nathan Eovaldi's new splitter has been described as a work in progress this spring by C Austin Romine. Eovaldi is also trying to refine his slider and curve ball in camp, and the Yanks are hoping it transforms him into a reliable rotation member in 2015. Pitching coach Larry Rothschild thought Eovaldi was rushing his offspeed pitches in his last outing.
Fantasy Tip: Eovaldi throws as hard as they come for a starting pitcher, but he allowed the most hits in the league last year with a fastball that was too straight. Adding in some wrinkles should help his strikeout numbers in the Bronx, but you'll likely need to practice patience with him, at least initially. Eovaldi is more of an AL-only asset, for now.

New York Yankees SP Nathan Eovaldi has been working on improving his splitter during spring training and hopes to make it a strikeout pitch this season along with his fastball and slider.
Fantasy Tip: Eovaldi is expected to be the No. 4 starting pitcher for the Yankees this season and could have a bigger role if he is able to improve on his pitches. Eovaldi could be an option in the later rounds of mixed league drafts because of his strikeout potential.
