Texas Rangers SP Martin Perez (elbow, groin) threw 39 pitches over three innings of work in a rehab start at Class AA Frisco Monday, June 22. "The problem I had with my leg is gone and I'm ready to go continue my rehab," said Perez, who touched 94 mph on the radar gun. "My sinker, all my pitches were good down in the zone, and I just kept working. That's it. I don't care about the result. I just want to feel good with my arm and my leg, and I think everything was good."
Fantasy Tip: The 24-year-old was on his way to a breakout season before he went down last year. Monitor his progress as he could be a second-half gem.

Texas Rangers SP Martin Perez (elbow, groin) is scheduled to throw a bullpen session Friday, June 19, and likely will start for Class AA Frisco Monday, June 22, if he does not have any problems.
Fantasy Tip: Perez is working his way back from Tommy John surgery as well as a groin injury he recently suffered. Perez probably will make a few more rehab starts before joining the Rangers. He could be an option in AL-only leagues when he is activated and could also be a FantasyScore option if he pitches well.

Texas Rangers SP Martin Perez (elbow) allowed five hits over 2 2/3 innings in his first minor-league rehab start with Class AA Frisco Wednesday, June 10. He lasted 45 pitches, the most the team wanted him to throw, managing a total of 33 strikes. He reported feeling good after.
Fantasy Tip: Perez is making his way back from reconstructive elbow surgery, and he is hopeful of returning in some role before the All-Star break. FantasyScore players should keep an eye on him, as he could be a useful option if he returns to the rotation at some point.

Texas Rangers SP Martin Perez (elbow) won't throw for four days after recovering from Tommy John surgery. The team has built in a four-day rest period for Perez after moving him from flat ground to a half-height mound for some of his pitches.
Fantasy Tip: Perez is hoping to return to the team sometime around the All-Star break after undergoing elbow ligament replacement surgery. Because starting pitchers often endure a lack of velocity and struggle with location upon returning from the procedure, Perez's fantasy value probably won't be at peak form until 2016. He may, however, be useful at FantasyScore and in AL-only leagues in spot starts in the second half of the season.
