San Francisco Giants 1B Brandon Belt (concussion) had an examination Wednesday, Aug. 20, and he was informed it will be at least two to three more weeks until he is cleared to do any physical activity.
Fantasy Tip: The clock is ticking, and time is not on Belt's side. He might be able to return for a week or two of the regular season, but even that is debatable at this point. If you have the roster flexibility, hang onto him if you have waited this long. San Francisco Giants 1B Brandon Belt (head) is headed back to the disabled list. 2B Matt Duffy is being recalled in a corresponding move, and he's starting at second base Friday, Aug. 8.
Fantasy Tip: Apparently Belt's headaches were related to his recent concussion, which is very troubling for his owners. Concussions aren't anything to mess with, and Belt could be out for a while depending on how he responds to rest. In his absence, Michael Morse is likely to play first base frequently, with either Juan Perez or Gregor Blanco filling in in left field.
