Giants | Andrew Susac behind the plate

Tue, 30 Jun 2015 14:17:57 -0700

San Francisco Giants C Andrew Susac is catching and hitting seventh against Miami Marlins SP Mat Latos Tuesday, June 30. C Buster Posey is at first base and 1B Brandon Belt moves to left field.

Fantasy Tip: Susac ($2,100, 4.2% of cap) can help save some cap space at catcher and could be a profitable sleeper play against Latos, who has struggled at home this year. Posey ($5,400, 10.8% of cap) is a strong play and has three home runs in 18 career at-bats against Latos. Belt ($4,300, 8.6% of cap) is another good option with Latos allowing a slash line of .311/.352/.496 against left-handed hitters in 2015.

Giants | Brandon Belt in lineup Sunday

Sun, 28 Jun 2015 12:09:05 -0700

San Francisco Giants 1B Brandon Belt is in the starting lineup against Colorado Rockies SP Kyle Kendrick Sunday, June 28, batting fifth. C/1B Buster Posey, who started the last two games at first base, will start behind the plate and hit cleanup.

Fantasy Tip: Belt ($5,000, 10.0% of cap) is hitting .313 against Rockies pitching this season and is 2-for-7 (.286) in his career against Kendrick. However, his .195 average during the month of June may be a reason to avoid using him in FantasyScore today. Posey ($5,300, 10.6% of cap) is a career .500 hitter against Kendrick in 12 at-bats.

Giants | Gregor Blanco in left field Saturday

Sat, 27 Jun 2015 12:48:32 -0700

San Francisco Giants OF Gregor Blanco is starting in left field and batting eighth against the Colorado Rockies Saturday, Sept. 27. OF/1B Brandon Belt is getting the day off.

Fantasy Tip: Blanco ($2,000, 4.0% of cap) is hitting .368 over the last seven days and is batting .352 at home this season. He is worth considering in FantasyScore as a low-cost outfield option. Belt ($5,000, 10.0% of cap) has had a June he'd like to forget, batting just .195 with two homers and 10 RBIs.

Giants | Brandon Belt has success vs. Ian Kennedy

Wed, 24 Jun 2015 15:56:01 -0700

San Francisco Giants 1B Brandon Belt has a .357 batting average with two doubles and two home runs over 27 career at-bats against San Diego Padres SP Ian Kennedy.

Fantasy Tip: Belt ($5,000, 10.0% of cap) is a mid- to low-end first base option in the majority of fantasy formats, but his past success against Kennedy is intriguing. Still, it doesn't guarantee Belt will perform well Wednesday. View Belt as a viable FantasyScore option, but he should be confused with a lineup building block.

Giants | Nori Aoki out Sunday

Sun, 21 Jun 2015 14:22:48 -0700

San Francisco Giants OF Nori Aoki (ankle) is not in the starting lineup Sunday, June 21. OF Justin Maxwell is in the lineup and batting sixth. Aoki's injury also has moved 1B Brandon Belt to left field and C Buster Posey to first base. C Andrew Susac is catching.

Fantasy Tip: Aoki ($3,400, 6.8% of cap) should be removed from your lineup until his ankle has healed. Maxwell ($2,100, 4.2% of cap) hit a two-run homer Saturday so he has demonstrated some pop and could make a cheaper replacement for your lineup.

Giants | Brandon Belt dropped to seventh

Tue, 16 Jun 2015 10:31:46 -0700

San Francisco Giants 1B Brandon Belt is hitting seventh Tuesday, June 16, against left-handed Seattle Mariners SP J.A. Happ.

Fantasy Tip: Belt ($5,000, 10.0% of cap) is 6-for-35 (.171) against lefties this season and .308 against righties. It's worth noting he's in left field for the second time this season, so he could be inching towards OF eligibility in traditional leagues. We're passing on FantasyScore against the left-hander.

Giants | Brandon Belt sitting vs. southpaw

Thu, 11 Jun 2015 14:07:32 -0700

San Francisco Giants 1B Brandon Belt is not in the starting lineup against New York Mets SP Jon Niese Thursday, June 11.

Fantasy Tip: With Belt ($5,000, 10.0% of cap) out of the lineup, Buster Posey ($5,200, 10.4% of cap) shifts to first base. Seasonal owners will want to take note of Belt's struggles against left-handed pitchers. He sports a .492 OPS this season over 36 plate appearances, however his .751 career mark is much better. There is a chance Belt sits more frequently against lefties going forward, especially if he continues to struggle against them.

Giants | Brandon Belt sitting against lefty

Wed, 03 Jun 2015 10:56:05 -0700

San Francisco Giants 1B Brandon Belt is not in the starting lineup against a left-handed pitcher Wednesday, June 3. C Buster Posey will start at first base and hit cleanup, while C Andrew Susac starts behind the dish and is hitting sixth against Pittsburgh Pirates SP Francisco Liriano.

Fantasy Tip: On a day with many early games and many regular catchers resting, it makes sense to pay up for the safety of Posey ($5,200, 10.4% of cap). Susac ($1,900, 3.8% of cap) has just 10 hits in 47 at-bats (.213) and is a very weak option.

Giants | Brandon Belt hitting cleanup

Sat, 30 May 2015 16:14:19 -0700

San Francisco Giants 1B Brandon Belt is hitting cleanup Saturday, May 30.

Fantasy Tip: Belt ($4,000, 8.0% of cap) has a .330-6-16 line in May and is well worth the stash for his services on FantasyScore.

Giants | Brandon Belt heating up

Sat, 23 May 2015 06:07:45 -0700

San Francisco Giants 1B Brandon Belt went 3-for-5 with two runs, a home run and three RBI against the Colorado Rockies Friday, May 22. It was his fourth home run over his past six games, and he has 11 runs, nine RBI and a 1.616 OPS during the run.

Fantasy Tip: Belt ($4,000, 8.0% of cap) has flashed tremendous upside for stretches over the past three seasons, but injuries have always halted his ascend. While he is rolling at the dish, FantasyScore players have a nice value play on their hands, especially with a few more games at Coors Field on deck this weekend.
